These Familiars Are Strange-Chapter 297: Invasion (16)
"We need more information on what they’re planning to do." I said after coming back to my senses.
For once, Yun Tian looked at me as if he didn’t agree with what I said.
"We need to go back and report this so that they can make preparations for the attack." He countered after I said this.
I understood the point of view that he was coming from, but I couldn’t agree with this.
After all, I didn’t think that...
"Do you really think that they will believe us if we tell them? Unless we bring them concrete proof, they won’t act on it." I said in a firm voice.
"At the very least, they’ll know and be able to prepare for a fight." Yun Tian argued back.
"Maybe, but you and I both know what will be the consequences of this."
Yun Tian didn’t say anything in response, but the look on his face showed that he did indeed know what I was talking about.
Since he didn’t respond, I said, "If they start preparing, there’s no doubt that the Abyss Demons will notice their movements. Once that happens, there’s no doubt that they will start whatever they are planning to do. How much do you think they can prepare before that happens?"
Yun Tian revealed a deep frown when he heard this.
It wasn’t as if he was a fool, he naturally knew that this would be the case.
Half hearted defenses wouldn’t help anyone after all.
It was just that he was overcome with emotions that he stopped thinking logically for a bit.
Now that he calmed down...
"I still think that we should at least report this matter in. As long as they know, they’ll be able to figure something out."
Though it didn’t seem like he fully believed in the skills of the captains, he still wanted to help as many people as possible.
In the end, it was his team that convinced him of this.
Yun Tian was a good person, but sometimes that alone wasn’t enough.
His team knew that as well, so they tried to go along with him when they could. But when things were dire like this, they knew that they had to stop him.
The fact that they could stop him and he listened to their opinions showed that they were a good team. Not only that, it seemed like the relationship between them was quite good.
This was only natural since Yun Tian’s team should have been through quite a bit with him.
With Yun Tian convinced, we turned back to head in the opposite direction.
After all, the only thing that was waiting for us if we kept going forward was a bunch of Abyss Demons since it was a camp that was filled with Abyss Demons ahead of us. There wasn’t anything that we needed from that place.
The place that we needed to go was the place where they were digging so we could find something to bring back with us.
As long as we had something to bring back, it would be easy for us to explain what we had found and convince them of it.
Though as we were heading back, it seemed like there were more Abyss Demons that were gathering which was why we had to be more careful. It seemed that all of the Abyss Demons were heading to a single place...
When we saw this, we couldn’t help feeling a bit worried.
After all, all of us were thinking the same thing when we saw the Abyss Demons like this.
As we came closer and closer to our destination, it seemed like there were more and more Abyss Demons that were gathering.
Eventually, it seemed like there was something happening among these demons.
It seemed like all of them were indeed preparing for something.
"What would they need all of these weapons for?"
This was a rhetorical question which made us move even faster.
But at the very least, it didn’t seem like the Abyss Demons were planning to attack right away.
It seemed like they were all gathering to prepare something special.
Since they were preparing for something special, that meant that we should have a bit of time before they actually attacked. Though it was clear that we didn’t have much longer before that happened.
I could see the way that Yun Tian was urging us, but I insisted on one thing.
"Just give me a few minutes, I need to see one thing."
Though the one that was guiding our group to this one thing wasn’t me.
I left it all to the Astral White Tiger.
It was the one that had found these Abyss Demons in the first place, so I had faith that it would be able to find something else.
Dodging all of the Abyss Demons that were moving around, we eventually reached a room which was empty.
It seemed like this was some kind of storage room with all the things that were here, but I just ignored them as I let the Astral White Tiger guide me.
This continued until we reached a blood red stone that was on one of the shelves.
I looked at the Astral White Tiger as if I was confirming something, but the Astral White Tiger seemed certain of this thing. It seemed that this was the thing that had attracted it in the first place.
I knew that the instincts of the Astral White Tiger weren’t bad, so I grabbed this thing without hesitation.
Once I grabbed it, I turned around and said, "Let’s go." 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
Yun Tian looked at me with a doubtful look, but he didn’t say anything since we were finally doing what he wanted to do.
Yun Tian even led the way this time as we made our way out of the cave.
Since the Abyss Demons were distracted with their preparations, we were able to make it out of the cave quite easily.
But it didn’t take long for a commotion to come from behind us.
