This Life, I Will Be the Protagonist-Chapter 1149 Divine Game: Quiet Mountain 32
On the thirteenth day of the game,
Deceitful Bloom finally led the entire group to the outskirts of Midsummer, located in the sixty-fifth domain.
As she sighed inwardly, BS Rita, who was obediently standing beside her, was still playing with her coin, while Deceitful Bloom’s hood was starting to stir with activity again.
"We must be the small ones. So who’s the older one?"
"I don’t know, I just know that Rita is still a child."
"Did you go through her old fan club again?"
Deceitful Bloom had long moved past the discomfort of dealing with this situation and had found her own peace.
She removed her cloak, shook it, and dropped Nivalis and B80 to the ground.
Although BS Rita had been so absorbed by the [My Sigh] coin that she couldn’t focus on anyone else or anything else, Nivalis and B80 had previously tried to remove their disguise skills, only for them to almost get killed. They barely had time to retreat to the pet space.
Deceitful Bloom occasionally used her empathic connection to peep at what BS Rita was seeing in the sighs. After doing so repeatedly, she realized that the scenes projected by the coin were random and brief, usually no longer than ten minutes.
This was likely BS Rita’s limit. Despite her strength, she was still a player, and no player could truly transcend the boundaries of a game world.
When using World Sigh to create this coin, BS Rita’s attributes and talents had not surpassed the "Divine Gift" concept, meaning she couldn’t store full memories like entire worlds could. Instead, these memories played like brief clips.
Deceitful Bloom tossed the cloak onto BS Rita’s head. "Put it on. Once we’re in the city, activate the second skill."
The second skill of the cloak was similar to the antenna item BS Rita used, but as the cloak’s owner, Deceitful Bloom could sense the user’s status and position at any time.
She switched to a new cloak, and Nivalis and B80 immediately jumped back into the hood, but this time without their disguise. They only retained the size-change to avoid triggering any alarm at the city entrance.
With everything in place, Deceitful Bloom led BS Rita toward Midsummer.
Midsummer was arguably the most livable main city in Quiet Mountain. The weather was perfect year-round, with spring showers, summer breezes, crisp autumn days, and sunny winters. But when most Celestialkin were about to fall asleep, the city would be blanketed by a soft rain, its sound and frequency perfect for the time.
Deceitful Bloom also wondered what Kessa from Quiet Mountain looked like.
Even after all this time, the most unforgettable part of her first entry into Quiet Mountain wasn’t discovering the truth of the world—it was meeting her other self and the feelings that stirred within her.
Suddenly, Nivalis’s voice rang out from under the hood: "Deceitful Bloom, just now I asked B80 to help me use the skill anonymously in the player chat group to check on how your Vineborne princess is feeling."
Deceitful Bloom: "...."
Every word of this made her want to comment, but she held back for several seconds before finally asking the most important question: "How did you manage to remain anonymous?"
Nivalis: "Why do you care about these trivial details?!"
Deceitful Bloom knew right away that Nivalis was up to something again. She glanced ahead at the long line of people, not wasting time with questioning. Instead, she used her veteran player privileges to open the chat group.
To her surprise, it wasn’t filled with the usual spam of messages. In fact, the battlefield chat group seemed to be malfunctioning—no one dared to speak. The first thing Deceitful Bloom saw was Nivalis’s anonymous message:
[BS Deceitful Bloom]: Thank you all for taking care of BS.
Deceitful Bloom felt a headache coming on as she rubbed her temple. She was sure this would be enough to knock Cicada out with frustration. Nivalis had probably added something extra just to make sure Cicada wouldn’t die from anger...
She was certain these usually chatty players were deliberately holding back, waiting to watch the show.
How bored can they be?
Fortunately, the young one she trusted had a brain.
[DawnCicada]: If you’re not her, then I have no reason to be angry. If you are her, I’ll follow your will.
[Dawn Spring Guest]: Sis, how long did it take you to think of that?
[DawnCicada]: ...Don’t call me sis, I don’t want to recognize you.
[Lania KaiaFat Goose]: But it’s probably not BS Rita. If she wanted to upset you, she wouldn’t have done it anonymously.
[BS Crab]: Maybe it’s her pet. You guys should broaden your horizons. You’d know Sea Pony isn’t that bad.
[TingoJE]: Did Sea Pony take over your account?
Deceitful Bloom stopped reading, as something was happening with BS Rita.
After catching the coin once more, BS Rita didn’t immediately toss it into the air as usual. Instead, she held it in her palm, staring at Deceitful Bloom with bright eyes, as if questioning something. She softly called her name, "Deceitful Bloom?"
Since Deceitful Bloom had arrived in Quiet Mountain, BS Rita had only spoken once, when Deceitful Bloom planted the Flower of Deceit.
Before Deceitful Bloom could ask, she saw BS Rita’s Vine move. White petals tinged with red were moving toward her right hand.
What memory was this?
It didn’t seem like an attack was coming, but Deceitful Bloom still subtly moved her fingers. The second Vine, which she had loosened earlier, extended toward BS Rita’s wrist again, ready to use Flower of Deceit to issue a task if needed.
However, contrary to her expectations, the Vine, made entirely of petals, didn’t form into a thin sword. Instead, it gathered together, forming a small white bear.
BS Rita’s palm cradled the little flower bear and presented it to Deceitful Bloom. She then pointed to the little bear and back at Deceitful Bloom, once again asking, "Deceitful Bloom?"
Was it because BS Rita’s eyes contained Flower of Deceit that they were so bright? Otherwise, why would she be looking at her like this?
Deceitful Bloom gazed into BS Rita’s eyes. "Yes, it’s me."
BS Rita’s face softened naturally into a smile. "You’re really kind."
Nivalis’s voice from the hood interrupted, "Does your conscience hurt?"
Deceitful Bloom took the little white flower bear, raised it to the sunlight, examining it with a soft smile. "No."
After a long moment, she placed the bear back into BS Rita’s palm and adjusted the latter’s black hood. "You’re kind too."
It would be even better if, when she eventually regained her full self, she wouldn’t be too angry when remembering all this.
