Chapter 39: Chapter 39: Blood spawn

Akaris did not wait for them to climb up the island before drawing his bow. An arrow formed in less than a second.

He released and it painted a streak of blue through the red world. The arrow moved so fast none of the blood creatures managed to dodge.

It pierced through multiple of them until it disappeared into the ocean. Akaris used inspect on them.

Blood sea spawn (uncommon)

Level ????

( Blood sea spawn- Mindless drones created and controlled by the blood sea with the sole purpose of dragging all life to depth of it red jaws

Strength of drones if highly depended on the quality of blood used to forge them)

No wonder he couldn’t see their level, it wasn’t because they were strong bit because they had no levels.

Their strength should lie in numbers considering he couldn’t see any end to them.

With so many enemies, wasting his mana would be a crime. He pulled the wooden arrows from the quiver instead.

He shot them in every direction, shooting three at a time without even infusing them with mana. Accuracy was no longer his concern.

With so many enemies, missing would be impossible unless he’s the worst shooter in all of existence.

However no matter how many time he he shot his arrows the blood spawn kept coming.

He noticed those he destroyed flowed back into the ocean, probably to be reconstructed and sent back into the fight.

They climbed into the island, he knew he couldn’t keep the off even if he tried, eventually he ran out of arrows.

With no other option he summoned his echo and handed it the great sword. The echo was not as strong as before.

Not because the echo skill was low, the echo skill did not determine an echo’s strength but how much mana was needed to keep it active.

The echo could evolve on it own from what he had learnt though he figured there were certain conditions to it.

He didn’t know the conditions for this one and would have to figure then out later. He sent it pouncing on the army of blood spawn.

While it was weaker than when he and Oriana fought it, it was still an echo of an ogre at level 10.

Its physical stats were above even his own, it shook the ground with each step and in only a few seconds reached the blood spawns.

It swung its giant sword in a wide arc taking out over a dozen blood spawn with a single attack.

He turned his attention to the other directions, they were surrounded from all sides.

He drew his bow and shot mana arrow after many arrow but there were too many of them.

He wanted to use the exploding arrow but five seconds was a long time, even though the blood spawn weren’t extremely fast.

They were still moving as fast as a sprinting athlete. Their weirdly shaped bodies of blood twisting with each step.

Some of them had no limbs and crawled like worms but their speed was no less than the others.

Five seconds is enough for them to close a large portion of the distance between them, it would’ve been better of they were coming from one direction.

He kept shooting his arrows but they were still breaching the gap between them. He gritted his teeth and hanged his bow then took out light bringer.

When he gripped the sword he felt his body gets lighter, the +5 agility was taking effect. He didn’t wait for them reach him.

He chose a direction and ran like the wind, the blood spawns pounced on him with their bloody claws.

He created mana skin around himself then swung his sword, light bringer drew a beautiful arc through the air.

Blood spawns were cut in half and dissolved into puddles of blood that flew back to the sea.

More came, he swung again taking out five at the same time and before they could even fall he was already attacking another group.

He moved through them like the wind but their numbers were too much, his stamina was not inexhaustible.

He commanded the echo to kill as fast as possible and so it did. Its speed reached the maximum possible and so did its killing speed.

Blood spawns fell to its sword one after the other yet they kept coming. Akaris got distracted watching the echo on a killing spree.

He felt a tremendous force ram into him sending his flying over 8 metres away, he spun mid air and landed on his feet.

He crushed a blood spawn when he landed then swung his sword in a circle killing the ones surrounding him.

He looked at what had attacked him and saw a blood spawn with a darker shade of red standing amidst the others.

It was so inconspicuous you wouldn’t be able to see it unless you were looking for it. The blood spawn looked like a mess of body part.

It had three legs, two humanoid legs with different sizes and one goat like leg jetting out to the side.

Its upper body had four arms, two were near the shoulders where arms should be but one was on the stomach and the other coming out its ribs.

It had a single head with two faces, one facing him and the other facing to the side, both had expressions still etched in agony.

The blood spawn roared with sounded like metal grinding against metal. It pounced on him.

Akaris took a back right sword stance then took a deep breath. He ignored the other blood spawns pouncing on him.

They were slow and did not pose a threat to him, their scratches couldn’t do anything against his mana skin.

This one on the other hand was much stronger and much faster, it would reach him way before the others could.

Even though they were closer, Akaris watched it running at him like a savage demon.

Its twisted limbs bending with each step as if they would break but they never did. When it got within his reach.

He kicked off the ground causing it to crack, his claymore drew a diagonal arc upwards and he appeared behind the blood spawn.

It paused then a thin diagonal line appeared on its chest. Its upper body slid off and fell on the ground.

The rest of its body crumbled into a pool of blood and flowed away. The others continued attacking as if they did not see him kill something stronger than them.

That was the blessing of the mindless, they had no fear. While he was busy killing the blood spawn he did not notice something rising above the blood sea.
