To Byul (Omegaverse)-Chapter 84: And you’re very likable, Yun-tae
Chapter 84 - And you're very likable, Yun-tae
"Where have you been, dad?" Si-woo asked as she watched Woo-bin walk into the kitchen.
She had one hand on her hip, and the other had a spoon which she used to point at her father, with a mean look on her face like she was ready to skewer him and add him to the menu.
"I was playing matchmaker." Woo-bin answered over a light shrug, and Si-woo saw Yun-tae walk into the kitchen after him. She furrowed her eyebrows and clicked her tongue.
"You were supposed to be helping me dish out the food minutes ago but you ran away to play matchmaker? Who did you try to match together this time?"
"Oh, there's no need for you to know since it didn't work out." Woo-bin said, waving it off. "Anyway, let me dish out the food now."
"Ugh," Si-woo growled and then turned to Yun-tae who looked a bit awkward. "Are you okay?" She asked him. "He can be a bit crazy with his words sometimes. They didn't get to you, right?"
"Oh, they almost did but..." He glanced at Woo-bin secretly tasting from the big spoon while secretly signaling him not to tell on him, and he laughed. "I got over it. He just asked about my lover and had no evil intentions. I think."
"Oh, don't keep it in. If he threatened your lover in front of you, do not hesitate to go to the police, got it? He's a madman."
"Ouch," Woo-bin grabbed his chest, the evidence of his theft still in his hand, "Si-Si, you break your old man's heart." He faked a sob, but Si-si rolled her eyes. She didn't care.
"How... How can you ask me to go to the police so casually? He's your dad, right?" Yun-tae asked, a little confused about the dynamics of their relationship.
"Tch, I started having these thoughts when he got a sickness that makes him want to matchmake anyone that isn't he, father, or mom. Ugh, it's annoying." She whispered to him. "But don't worry, they'll only take him to an asylum from there, so feel free to report him." She gave a thumbs up with a sparking eye.
"Hey, I heard that." Woo-bin clicked his tongue. "I'm only trying to invite prospective and nice in-laws into our family. I've watched you two for more than 20 years, I think it's time I started seeing new faces, don't you think?"
And by that, he was definitely referring to grandkids.
Yun-tae thought of this and chuckled. It was cute if you looked at it that way.
All parents act like that, wanting grandkids. But Woo-bin's methods were a bit... Well, abnormal.
In any case, he got what he was going for.
"And you're very likable, Yun-tae," Si-woo added. "Your stature fits everyone's appeal in this house, so I think I saw this coming the moment I saw you. I'm not one to complain since I'm literally the one who took you here," she chuckled.
"Um, thank you." Yun-tae wiggled his fingers. He didn't expect to hear that.
He was a petite Omega, sharing the same height as their last child, and cute as well. He was so thankful for that.
"Ah," he realized something and asked. "If Ahjussi does this a lot and with all of you, does that mean he's tried to matchmake Chin-hwa as well?" He asked and they both turned to him.
"Nah, he could never try that with Hwa." Si-woo said, dropping the big bowl of covered rice in the middle of the dining table.
"Hwa gets to choose, no matter how long he takes. I could never interfere with his life's choices." Woo-bin said. "And that's why I'm not forcing you either. I feel you have every right to choose your own life."
"And I guess we don't have that right." Si-woo grumbled, folding her arms.
"Absolutely not." Woo-bin shamelessly said, walking back to the kitchen.

"I bet you wish Hwa never got married." Si-woo suddenly said and Woo-bin paused, glancing over his shoulder at her and saying,
"Your words, not mine."
Si-woo sighed while shaking her head. Her dad was unbelievable sometimes. He probably wished that Chin-hwa would stay in the comfort of their arms for the rest of his life and not get stolen by an Alpha someday.
His way of loving them, Alpha's, was way different from how he loved Chin-hwa. It was the same for the rest but he was, in particular, most smitten by Chin-hwa.
Well, she wasn't complaining. They all wanted to spoil Chin-hwa rotten and give him all that the world had to offer, including her.
She couldn't get past his cute compelling magic that made her his slave. She would die to spend the whole day with him alone, feeding him till his cheeks were about to explode and take a million pictures of his cuteness.
That was how much she adored that mass of cuteness.
Besides, if their parents had spoiled her and Deok-ryu like that while growing up, as Alphas, they would've definitely turned spoiled, arrogant, and entitled, ruining their own futures.
So, it was believed that while the twins could only be spoiled to a certain degree, Chin-hwa deserved to be spoiled rotten for... Well, for being a cute Omega child and they were all in support.
It was biased, but no one was complaining. Besides, he turned out well, if not for the incident that drove him into his room and broke him.
"Besides," Si-woo added. "We all know who Hwa is going to end up with anyway. We're just waiting for the day those two patch things up and finally decide to make babies."
"Wait, does Chin-hwa have someone he likes?" Yun-tae asked, his throat feeling itchy for some reason.
"Yeah, he's always been in love but he thinks neither of us know it yet. So, keep it a secret as well." She said.
"Ah, I would never be able to reveal it in the first place, since I'm sure I don't know who this person is." Yun-tae said. His throat was no longer itchy but this time, it was as if there was a lump in it.
For some reason, he felt asking any further would make him regret but his curiosity to know who this other person was weighed him down.
"Oh, I thought it'd be noticeable to the people around, but that person," Si-woo said. "You know the person Chin-hwa is into. I mean, you did spend time with him last weekend."
Yun-tae could feel his heartbeat increasing and he could practically hear it in his ear.
'Oh no, what is she saying? Is she... Is she going to confirm it? Confirm what I've been thinking about?'
"It's Kang-woo." Si-woo finally said. "The person Chin-hwa likes is Kang-woo. And for a long time too. Kang-woo also lies Chin-hwa. But..." She shrugged. "Oh well, they both have their situations to fix so no one can even try to fix their problems for them." She concluded and looked at Chin-hwa whose eyes had shrunk in. "Are you okay?"
"Y-yes. I... I'm fine. I'm just... In shock. So," his skin felt cold, like his blood had stopped flowing all of a sudden and he was growing pale. "T-those two are in love with each other and don't even know it." He looked up at her. "Is that right?"
"Yes, that's right. It's been like that for the longest time since they've been together. Everyone knows it, but just not the both of them since, as they say, love is blind."
