Tower's Richest Player: My Coins Won't Stop Increasing-Chapter 90 - 2nd Floor Cleared
Chapter 90: 2nd Floor Cleared
"We were fighting Crabby..." KiRA was shocked to hear what was going on on the 2nd floor after the two of them came back from the cave.
Izzy was stunned to see what was going on the floor right now.
The way the association people were cleaning the places, the dead bodies, and collecting the remains of the fallen people was simply too harsh.
She was heartbroken to see the grieving members of the guilds, the association people who lost their squad members.
There were the captains who shed tears for the people that they had fought with, the ones who could not make it past this fight.
"It’s [Malkim]." KiRA knew exactly what this was and why all of this had happened.
While helping the people of the association with cleaning up and with purifying the corrupted lands, KiRA explained to Ziggy how there existed creatures who could corrupt and control other beings.
He told him about a plant monster species that existed above the 51st floor, mainly in the forests of the 60th floor.
Malkim or as the natives of that land called them, the Demonic Plants of Corruption.
These things were not powerful individually but they spread a virus like pollen that first affected those infected, taking away their rationality.
The pollen then took over the minds of the people and started corrupting their bodies. After a while, they would be affected by various abnormal conditions and mutations, fusion, as well as corrupt evolution wasn’t impossible either.
The pollen was one entity all influenced by the original monster plants.
The plants didn’t necessarily make the affected beings kill anything they found but since they needed nutritions to survive and live on, they used these affected beings to bring them the nutrients.
"But..."
Humans were good nutrients for these plants and they chose to get them as well. That’s why the natives called them demonic plants.
"They shouldn’t be here at this point."
KiRA was well aware of how these demonic plants needed a very specific environment to grow and thrive.
They shouldn’t be present on the earth’s soil where they neither had enough nutrients nor the necessary density of corrupt Mana for these things to thrive.
"There’s something more to this, Ziggy."
The whole situation was strange to KiRA as well.
He was even devastated.
’We were gone for a few hours...’
A few hours into that cave where simple communication is cut off, and they are greeted with a floor full of dead bodies and gore as soon as they come out.
The entire floor was now saturated with the stench of eroding dead bodies.
Without KiRA purifying many of the areas with his Holy Power and Purity, the floor would have lost its natural light and they might have lost the entire floor as well.
"This is strange..."
KiRA still thought there was something more to this. The presence of a Malkim at this point when they were usually a (Level-120) creature was nearly impossible.
It went beyond the Laws of equilibrium.
Even if this tower was a horror show with countless dangers, the outside world wasn’t yet under the complete authority of the tower and the system.
Things like this should not be happening naturally... which only meant one thing.
"The threat, in fact, is external."
He did not know what was causing this or who had done something so horrible or why they did this. But he knew for certain that there was something or someone behind this incident and he wasn’t going to leave this be.
"I’ll look into this personally."
He wanted to apologize to Ziggy that they weren’t around when he needed them, but Ziggy didn’t want any apologies from them.
They did not know about any of this. They were fighting their own battle and working for their future. It wasn’t like they were intentionally avoiding this battle.
The circumstances prevented them from helping them. And perhaps, this was just fated to turn out this way.
"It’s alright as long as you two are fine." He hugged the two, and they hugged him back.
They knew he had been through a lot. They could see how burdened he was right now.
He had suffered. And he wanted to grieve for the lost lives as well.
But before that, he needed to finish his work and look after his duties.
Only after that... would he be free to join the mourning survivors.
[ "As the 2nd floor has been cleared, the incident on the 2nd floor a few days ago where more than a hundred player lives were lost, is becoming buried under the new contents of the 3rd floor." ]
Soon after the incident, the 2nd floor was cleared and during this time, KiRA used his resources to find information on the incident and the place where everyone involved had come from.
With the help of his aunt and the information network that they had built, he got as much information as he could on the area, and with the help of the items purchased from Uni’s shop, he searched around those locations.
He sent Uni to investigate personally while he was doing the work from his home, finding any clues about anything out of place.
He was finding any traces ’they’ might have left behind, but as he had predicted, there was nothing he could find on his own.
Unity did not find any leads either, forcing KiRA to resort to the means he did not want to use– use his Authority.
But even after using the [Causal Access] to find out anything about the incident, the conditions to obtain the information that he received simply flabbergasted him.
[Ding!]
============
[Request: Access to unknown information on the 2nd floor incident.]
[Additional Request: Proof of traces.]
Cost: Use 1,000,000 IX in the market of the 3rd floor, Kill the governing lord of the city, Use the funds of the lord and obtain capable personnel to redesign the city, and Destroy the City and the residents.
============
It was ridiculous.
However he thought about it, all he could think about was how absurd these conditions were.
’They want me to waste a million?’
He wasn’t going to do that.
Not on a floor where he could buy three cities at the said price.
Besides, he didn’t have that kind of money. But he needed the money for something else as well...
So, there was only one thing left to do now— call a very ungrateful three-legged white crow to collect what he should have gotten a long time ago.
