Transmigrated as a Third-Rate Villain in a Doomed Novel-Chapter 38: End [II]
SHATTER!
The shield broke down.
Evelyn didn’t let the chance go and punched the mage across his jaw.
The punch landed!
Julius, feeling the force, felt the shattering bones and flying teeth, and the next second, his body flew sideways, rolling to hit the wall.
Thud
However, Evelyn didn’t follow him. She instead rotated her body and threw a punch towards Kade.
SWOOSH!
But even in his unstable state, Kade ducked down and evaded the punch. Following that, he swept his leg in an attempt to make Evelyn fall.
But—
Thud
Evelyn didn’t budge.
Kade felt as if he was kicking an immovable entity.
"Huh?!"
His face scrunched up in surprise. Still, his attention didn’t shift from the young man.
Due to the awkward position Kade was in, Evelyn had a pretty good chance of attacking him. However, she didn’t attack him. Instead, she rotated her hand and threw her katana backward towards Julius, who was starting to stand now.
SWOOSH!
The katana reached Julius, slicing through the air as it went through his left hand, embedding him in the wall.
"Aagh!"
He screamed, his screams echoing in the room.
But no one glanced at him. Not his lord nor Evelyn herself, as she turned her attention back towards Kade.
He felt the most dangerous to her! Now that the mage was taken care of for a few seconds, she wanted to direct her attention to the man before her.
Thud
She kicked him. This time, with more force, her leg snapped in a blur as it landed on the flank of Kade.
Kade couldn’t dodge this one. His attention was already divided, mostly present on Elias, so he couldn’t even sense the upcoming attack.
And the attack landed.
This time, the force was strong, strong enough that Kade’s body flew directly, embedding itself in the wall. Spiderwebs and cracks filled the wall as Kade fell on the ground.
Evelyn turned to follow him as she saw the perfect opportunity, but Elias spoke up.
"Take care of the mage. I will see him."
Hearing his words, she hesitated for a second before turning towards Julius, who was starting to chant a spell.
Feeling the eyes of the redhead on him, Julius panicked and attacked her. The gust of wind blew as it reached Evelyn, but with a slice of her mana-layered katana, she cut the attack.
Following that, she pressed her leg on the ground and, like a blur, reached him in a second.
Reaching, Julius, Evelyn’s hand snapped as she took out the blade, letting the blood spray before moving her hand as the blade gleamed. Its edges shone as she sliced with the intent of slicing Julius’s other hand.
But no matter what, Julius was not weak. He himself was a [C+] rank mage.
As Evelyn’s blade reached his hand, the space rippled. The momentum of the blade dulled before Evelyn felt a strong repelling force on the blade as well as her body.
The next second, she skidded, her soles scraping against the floor.
Julius didn’t let the chance go. He immediately started to prepare his spell.
But—
Evelyn flicked her katana, the crimson blood, and the next second, her blade was cutting through his right hand like a knife through butter.
Julius’ eyes widened, pain flaring, as his mouth opened in a painful scream.
"Aggh!"
However, Evelyn was already on her next move, her blade gleaming, the crimson flowing along its edges as she sliced through his leg.
Then the other leg.
Thud
Julius fell, his upper torso falling back as his legs buckled in the front, still spasming while blood leaked from the cut.
Seeing him like that, screaming as tears started to fall, the pictures of all the events that had taken place today surfaced in Evelyn’s mind.
Her face sank as she thought about all the deaths. Her fingers tightened on the hilt of the katana as she stabbed it in the flank of Julius.
Then the other side.
And at last the neck.
Slice
After that, she immediately turned as she felt an ominous feeling.
Kade was attacking Elias, his hands stretched out in an attempt to kill Elias, as red, ominous energy leaked from his body.
***
Moments Earlier—
Reaching the fallen Kade, Elias stared at him.
"Why...?"
The sound leaked, muffled, due to the way Kade’s face was pressed on the ground. His fingers dug into the floor as he lifted his head and looked at Elias.
"Why?"
He asked, his eyes bulging and red covering the whites.
"Did I do something wrong? Did I make a mistake? Why are you all abandoning me?"
No answers. Elias didn’t answer.
Seeing this, Kade once more flared.
"WHY?!"
Seeing him questing for such a long time, Elias at last opened his mouth.
But the words were not what Kade wanted to hear.
"Would you hurry up?"
"Whaa...?"
"Hurry up and transform already."
Elias once more spoke, glancing at his watch.
"I have to go back. I am not free like you guys."
"..."
The cruelty, the way Elias spoke and looked at him, made Kade clench his fist.
Here he was screaming and questioning the reason behind his abandonment, and the man was simply not answering. Instead, he was waiting for him to transform like a lab rat.
’Why am I surprised?’
Kade thought, glancing at the bulging nerves on his hands.
’Yeah, why am I even surprised? Isn’t this how we are? Isn’t that how we treated everyone? Isn’t that how the "Velvet Hand" organization treated others?’
Kade laughed.
’We did. So if they are removing me as I have become a waste to them, why am I even surprised?’
"Still..."
Kade’s fingers dug into the floor—blood leaking from his torn face.
As the crimson liquid pooled in front of him. Kade looked at his reflection.
His face was riddled with marks. Flesh peeking from the torn skin.
Nerves throbbed against his skin all over his body as he saw them bulging all over his head, face, and neck.
’I look grotesque!’
Throb!
Kade felt the throb in his heart.
"You want me to transform, huh?"
Kade’s voice cut through the chaos as he turned to look at the man towering above.
"I am going to transform. And KILL YOU!"
Kade bellowed and pounced upward; red energy leaked from his body as teeth started to grow. His blonde hair became more disheveled as his eyes turned crimson.
He attacked the man.
If he was going to die, he was taking someone with him.
But—
Instead of seeing any panic on the man’s face or feeling his hands reaching him, he felt pain bloom on his face as a fist crashed against his face, embedding him in the wall once more.
Thud
Crack
"Ah!"
’Whaa... ?’
Before Kade could comprehend things clearly. Following the first fist, a barrage of fists landed, one after another. Kade felt his facial bones breaking.
Thud, thud.
The pain exploded as his senses got overwhelmed by the pain. The darkness started to fill his vision as his body started to go limp.
Thud, thud.
However, before Kade’s senses could drown in the epitome of black darkness.
"Stop."
Elias spoke up.
Evelyn snapped her head towards him. Her face scowled.
"What?"
"Stop it."
"What do you mean, ’stop it’?"
"I need something from him."
Elias answered. He was not going to let the guy die.
Hearing this, Evelyn stopped and backed a few steps, letting the body of Kade, hanging due to his face embedded in the wall, go.
After that, Elias reached Kade’s body. The destruction was real.
The wall has been destroyed as red had been painted everywhere, layering above the room’s previous color.
Smelling the metallic iron, Elias pulled on Kade’s almost limp body.
’The hell!’
He applied more force before dragging the body out and letting it fall on the ground.
’He is not dead, is he?’
Elias glanced at Kade, and seeing his chest still heaving up and down, he took in a relieved breath.
"Give me your katana."
Then he spoke, moving his hands towards Evelyn while he continued to glance at Kade.
Evelyn, without questioning, handed him her katana.
Taking the katana, Elias sat down with the intention of slicing. As if feeling the danger, Kade’s body twitched, his hands starting to rise.
But before they could, Evelyn moved like a blur and broke the hands of the Kade.
Elias, seeing the gruesome scene, tried not to let the surprised choking sound leak as he focused his attention on slicing through Kade’s chest.
Inhaling air.
And exhaling it, Elias regulated his breathing.
After that, he tried not to tremble slightly seeing the blood, and he steeled himself.
’Don’t panic.’
Despite his churning stomach, the rising panic, and the feeling of sourness in his throat, Elias kept going.
Taking the blade, he sliced through the cloth and cut open his chest. After minutes of cutting and slicing, while Kade groaned in pain, Elias at last saw what he was looking for.
’Found it!’
