Chapter 72: Pregnancy assumptions.

Elias was enjoying Sienna’s suffering. Not in a mean way, just the way a husband who needed his wife to stay home and create less trouble would. He sipped hot coffee slowly, savoring the rich taste, thinking to himself that it was so much more delicious than usual.

Mrs. Miller on the other hand, was feeling sorry for her daughter and granddaughter. They looked like they would rather be anywhere else in the world, but the class. "If you want Sienna to learn, that is not how you teach her." She said softly, "She is a visual learner."

"I will be sure to pass that information along." Elias murmured, continuing to sip his coffee. "Good coffee," he smiled. "So good."

Back in the outdoor classroom, Mrs. Abernathy’s tail was swinging with emphasis. "You must learn the subtleties of gesture. I noticed that you have scoffed, snorted and rolled your eyes many times Lady Sienna. Every gesture tells me what is on your mind. In the circle you move in, a tilt of the head may signal alliance; a flick of the tail may declare dissent.

On the BeastNet, it is worse because such movements are magnified and taken as cues. From there, stories are spun wildly and fires are started. You should practice not giving away anything. Practice restraint. Practice grace. Practice silence."

Her words fell like iron bells against a hard wall of steel and concrete. Sienna nodded dutifully, though her thoughts were far from there. She longed to ride on her bee and go on another adventure. It was a sunny day, the air was cool, the beast world was wide. What other dormant pets could she tame?

Meanwhile, Ali squirmed again, her short nails replaced by claws that scratched at the chair’s edge. Her body was vibrating loudly with the need to run.

Mrs. Abernathy concluded with a final decree: "Remember, you are not merely the human wife of the fox lord. You are a bridge between humans in this world and the fox tribe. You are a symbol. Lord Elias is judged in part by your conduct and that of your children. If you falter, he falters. If you shine, he shines. You must both become the mirrors of his dignity."

Silence followed, thick and suffocating. The governess’s eyes lingered on them, daring either to protest. Sienna forced a smile and Ali but her lip, and both sat trapped in the web of tradition and good manners.

Satisfied with their display of patience even thought they were itching to escape, Mrs. Abernathy let them go. She was already planning tomorrow’s lesson on the proper way to curse without being vulgar or offensive.

Unfortunately for her, as soon as her students regained freedom, they threw themselves on the ground, rolling around while shouting joyfully, ’freedom.’

Mrs. Abernathy approached Elias, sighing sorrowfully. "This will take a while, my Lord. The Lady and young miss are very challenging to deal with. The older one hates rules and the younger one is just the same. They both have restless feet, and happen to be a little too spirited."

Elias sighed. He looked at his son, who was already taking his studies seriously, with a private tutor. Then, he looked at his daughter and his wife, laughing in an unladylike way, rolling around like logs.

"Who wants to play fetch?" Sienna asked.

Ali jumped up and down, "Me! me! me! what is fetch mama?"

"I throw a ball and you run as fast as you can and bring it back." Sienna explained.

Ali jumped around, turning in circles, before taking on her full fox form out of excitement. Sienna squealed, leaped and grabbed the little fox. With so much vigor, she started petting and kissing it.

"Baby, can you wag your tail while mommy sings?" she asked.

Ali yipped excitedly. Sienna out the little fox cub down and started singing in a bass, while Ali tried to find a dancing rhythm in a fox cub form. She looked more like a confused, silly dog, shivering in the cold while chasing her tail than an elegant fox.

Mrs. Abernathy winced.

Elias smiled.

"Your children can already take on their full beast man form." Mrs. Abernathy noted.

Elias beamed with pride. "Right from birth."

"It is a wonder that Lady Sienna’s human genes didn’t affect them at all." She narrowed her eyes. "Does it make her special or are your genes simply too strong that they overcame her lack of beast genes?"

He shrugged. "Who knows? Maybe our next cub with fully human." As soon as he finished making the statement, the cup in his hands fell to the ground. Did I just say that? he asked himself.

Elias nearly pinched himself because for a moment, he thought he was possibly sleeping. How else could he have made such a statement when he was wide awake? He was planning to divorce Sienna so how could they have another child?

Behind them, Timothy was just as flabbergasted. So much so, that his legs were trembling. Had he really heard his boss say that he would be having another child with Sienna?

What about the divorce? Had the couple already mended the fences or had they reached another agreement to have more babies?

Elias had slept in Sienna’s bedroom last night, had something happened? Had they been intimate? The last time they were bed, Elias had won the cub lotto in one shot.

He tilted his head and narrowed his eyes, trying to use his mental strength to check for changes to the size of Sienna’s stomach. All he noticed was that it was that it had shrunk slightly.

The poor assistant slapped himself on the cheek lightly. Even if she was pregnant, it would not show quickly. They would only be able to smell it in a week and see it in three months.

"I have a meeting to attend, please excuse me." Elias said to Mrs. Abernathy. The beast man that always had a plan and solution for everything, left the compound as if his tails were on fire.

Sienna was disappointed to see him go. He was the only reason why she had pulled out the ball and suggested the play fetch. Now that he was gone, her mission would have to wait.

Meanwhile, Nanny Fortunate was whispering to a cook, that Sienna was pregnant and the fox Lord had said, this cub was human!

Before the hour ended, the news had reached the palace of the Beast king and the king was in stitches. He looked at his wife, who was sipping on her tea gently. "If Sienna were pregnant, I would know."

His confused queen blinked and frowned. How? Even if he had a spy in the family, some things were just too private. Only Elias and Sienna knew if she was truly pregnant.

King Leon smiled slyly, "But, it works out in my favor whether it is true or false. Pregnant women should not ride bees, they should hand over the queen bee to us now. I will send guards to fetch it." 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

Queen Serenya groaned. This was not going to end well and sadly, her husband would not be talked out of it.
