Transmigrating from a zombie world to become the mecha kings wife-Chapter 321: Pretty boy
Chapter 321: Pretty boy
"Aah," Ramslin touched his chest and replaced his smile with a sad face. "Friend, you did this back then too, you always draw a straight line between us." He looked at the reporters and said, "She is very respectful and her marriage and status."
"That’s understandable." the female reporter said.
"Yes, she is married to the mecha king so she must always reflect his great image in all her actions." the male reporter said.
Scarlet looked down and rolled her eyes, and she also scowled affronted by his chauvinistic idea that she should maintain her image, not for herself but for her husband. What kind of old world logic was that?
Ramslin chuckled, because he noticed the little tense movement in her jaw which he had seen in a few videos of her, shared on the underworld forum. She did not like what he said. It was very funny to see her so restrained in the human world and yet she was daring in the underworld. Was this the same woman who kicked another grim reaper off the wall and started a tiny revolution in the challenge?
"Why don’t we all head into the governor’s office?" her assistant Precious said.
The number of people in the waiting room that had come to meet the governor had doubled. Minister Maury, the head of city hall affairs who had joined the visitors eagerly pushed the reporters and Ramslin as close to the entrance of the office as he could.
There was a metal detector, and other security measures employed before the actual doors of her office slid open. Ramslin had to take off most of his jewelry before going inside.
It brought a slight smile to Scarlet’s face, watching the city hall officers waiting impatiently as Ramslin’s twenty one pieces of jewelry removed from his person were checked for contraband, recording devices, dangerous nature and then given back to him.
They had to wait for him to put them back slowly, before entering her office.
For the first time since she took office, her office was stuffed to the maximum unnecessarily. Some of these people were just here to gawk, and the last person to enter her office was reporter Jelly.
The two reporters who were following Ramslin had come for the capital, it was not very logical for their BSTV to miss out on this exclusive.
"Wow, friend, I love your office, it’s so you." Ramslin said.
Before Scarlet could say something that would stop Ramslin’s words from being misconstrued, reporter Jelly asked excitedly.
"Does this mean you know the governor’s personal preferences?"
"Maybe," Ramslin touched his chin and said playfully, not revealing if he did or didn’t.
"He doesn’t." Scarlet said.
"Ha-ha-ha." Ramslin laughed and he sat down.
She opened her mouth to ask him why he had come but he stood up and walked over to her shelf which had a few toys, books, snacks and he grabbed a pink stuffed elephant.
"Oh, friend, you have an elephant plushie in your office. You know how much I love plushies, why didn’t you send this to me?"
The reporters quickly took pictures of Ramslin, holding the pink elephant to his chest. This would be a trendy picture, he looked so adorable.
"What is an elephant?" the female reporter asked.
At the mecha warrior’s training ground where Esong was leading his men in an intense training session, Folsom distracted him by showing him the newest trending news related to Ramslin being on the Blue star.
"Tsk, tsk, look at this pretty boy taking liberties in your wife’s office. He is cuddling her toys as if she bought them for him. And did you hear what he said, her office is so her!!! Does he know how coquettish he sounds? Why isn’t she kicking him out already?"
"It’s a publicity stunt." Esong said gruffly, refusing to look at the image. "And concentrate, Ian and Cedric’s teams are gaining ground on us."
They were in an intense game of capture the enemy’s flag, but instead of using fake guns, they used real ones with hard shell bullets and all shots were fired at the leg. The men would be bleeding by the end of the exercise if their bodies could not jump, bend and dodge flexibly.
Why Folsom was running with his attention on his terminal was a puzzle to Esong, an annoying puzzle.
Scarlet had explained what an elephant was and everyone was nodding while Ramslin arrogantly named the other animals which inspired the plushies on her shelf.
When he was finished, he winked at Precious and the young woman blushed and she clumsily leaned against Scarlet’s desk. A few books and papers fell down.
Ramslin hurried to help Precious pick them up and the reporters enthusiastically took pictures.
"He is so caring and helpful." the female reporter from the capital said.
’He is a narcissist who is doing all this for attention.’ Scarlet thought. She did not even realize that she was sneering as she watched Ramslin and Precious.
The female reporter from the capital quickly took a picture, already thinking that there could be a hidden past between Scarlet and Ramslin. Why else would she look at him with much contempt on her face?
"Governor, how did you two meet?" she asked.
"In the land of the dead." Scarlet answered.
"Ha-ha-ha," Ramslin laughed, "She means a morgue, we met when someone that I knew died. She said a few comforting words to me, sat with me for a while as I grieved and we have been great friends since then."
"So tragedy brought you two together and she comforted you, how touching." the female reporter said, obviously lapping up the bullshit that Ramslin was selling.
"Yeah, my friend Scarlet is great, I don’t know how I would have gone through such a trying time without her." Ramslin continued to lie.
"Was this before or after she married the mecha king?" the male reporter asked.
"Before." Scarlet and Ramslin said simultaneously.
A few people laughed, as if their response was funny.
"See I told you we are great friends, we even think alike." Ramslin said.
" You two have such great chemistry, if you met before she got married, then have you ever considered the possibility of a romantic relationship?" the female reporter asked.
Everyone fell silent, and things took a turn for the awkward.
"Is she stupid?" Scarlet asked herself. How could she ask such a question. To a married woman, moreover, and one married to a man in a high position.
Scarlet was angry, offended and she had had enough with the questions. It was time for all them all to leave her office. Her aura changed, and the look on her face became stoic. The air in the office suddenly became colder and her eyes when she looked at the female reporter were piercing.
"I allowed you into my office because I was being polite but if you are going to become a nuisance, then get out."
The female reporter swallowed saliva nervously and said, "No, that’s not what..."
"I said, out." Scarlet repeated her order sternly.
