Transmigrating from a zombie world to become the mecha kings wife-Chapter 619: Godiver’s misfortune.
Chapter 619: Godiver’s misfortune.
The smoke was thick, the alarms were loud and the news was everywhere. Lord Godiver’s experimental farmlands had caught fire. This was the first big fire of its kind in the capital and the media was all over it. Ironically, there was nothing much to be salvaged because the fire fighters were few in number, thanks to lord Godiver’s insistence that they assist Solaris. Mecha warrior’s had to be called in to help but even with them, it was a hopeless case.
Fire caused by heat stones of a deity could not be put out by simple sprinkling of ordinary water.
All night long, the fire raged, not exceeding certain points as if it had an active mind of its own and in the morning, just when the first sun showed signs of rising, the flames died down. The one who caused the fire spread her wings to fly away.
"Not so fast." Lanta was caught by Carnelia.
The harpy stopped struggling and stilled her body. It was not as if she could escape the deity anyway.
"Great fire, I am honored to be....." freēwēbηovel.c૦m
Carnelia shook the harpy like a light string in her hands. "I am not here for pleasantries Lanta. Tell me why you are setting fires now when you know that I promised Scarlet I would not be allowing you do this on her world. Perhaps you are bored and it’s not that I am against you having a little fun but now is not the time for fun."
Scarlet was missing which meant the children were missing. Fun had to be put on the back burner until all these parties were safely brought home.
"I am doing this as a favor for Scarlet. The minister had someone steal her seeds, fertilizer, water and everything else that is used on the farms on the Blue star. Then, he secretly started growing his own crops. She asked me to take care of the problem in her absence and I have." The harpy explained.
Carnelia let go of the harpy but she trapped her in one place with her powers. Their Q&A session was not quite over yet.
"You saw her before she left."
Lanta, who was in bird form nodded. Her small head moved up and down as if the wind was blowing it.
"I had no idea that she meant going away like this, disappearing completely. I thought she meant that she was going to one of the other planets for a simple visit. But she told me to handle this until she returned."
"So, she told you to set a fire?" Carnelia asked her.
Lanta could neither deny nor confirm this. Scarlet did not specify a specific manner in which she wanted the matter handled. All she said was that it should be taken care of, permanently. What was more permanent than fire?
"Not in so many words." Lanta croaked out.
Carnelia retracted her powers and Lanta who was suddenly let go of fluttered her wings nervously and then teleported to a tree branch before she could lose her balance. She could not leave before the fire goddess otherwise she would seem disrespectful.
So, the harpy stayed where she was and waited patiently for the goddess to consolidate her thoughts. It took a while, for this to happen because Carnelia just hung there in the air for a good thirty eight minutes, thinking deeply. When she was done, she vanished into a red smoke.
Lanta’s little bird legs trembled and she almost fell off the tree branch. She sighed, in relief that she didn’t truly know of Scarlet’s whereabouts otherwise the fire goddess would set her on fire and some lucky monster would feast on bird meat. She calmed herself and teleported away, returning to the hotel room.
She stepped into the bathroom quickly to wash away the stench of the smoke and got into bed with Beord. There was one thing she loved to do after setting fires, have mind blowing sex.

In the palace meanwhile, the emperor and empress were receiving minute by minute updates on the fire. The couple was enjoying the blow by blow, even sharing some pudding as they kept up with it.
"The flames are dying out your highnesses." One of the spies at the scene told them.
The empress frowned as if she had just received bad news. "Is anything still standing?" she asked in an angry voice.
She had been hoping that the fire would keep going. The Godiver’s had their main family home standing close to the experimental research field. If the fire could burn it down too, she would be very pleased. It would certainly save her the resources needed to deal with them in this secret war they were having. Sadly, the fire had not done as she desired.
"It’s all scorched earth here, nothing has survived. Minister Godiver already has experts and researchers at the scene. From what we know so far, not even the soil can grow anything edible for the next foreseeable future." Her spy answered.
The emperor smacked his lips with a pleased look on his face. All was well that ended well. He didn’t want or need any nobles growing their own food. They might begin having other types of thoughts otherwise.
"When are you dealing the final blow which will dismantle Godiver and his group?" He asked his empress.
"Winter, when winter comes." She answered confidently.
"If the space crack is closed you will need a second plan." He told her.
She smirked. "Do you need a reminder on who you married? I have ten plans as back-up should the space crack be closed. We should discuss another matter. Space pirates recently invaded the Western districts of the Green star. It has been giving general Dean’s army some trouble. What do you think about sending the thunder death army with Markay at the helm as their commander?"
The emperor licked a spoon and narrowed his eyes. The suggestion didn’t sit well with him. Sending the crown prince to engage space pirates was like sending them a plump animal to snatch and slaughter. If Esong was around, he wouldn’t mind but without Esong, he worried.
The empress could see that he was hesitant and she softened her voice in the hopes to convince him. "He can lead them well, trust him. This is a chance for him to prove himself as crown prince. He can form a more concrete heroic image and garner support of the commoners. If he wins their hearts, no propaganda formed against him will work. Just look at the commoners on the Blue star, they adore him because he once ate among them. He attended games, judged that cooking thing and played in a water park care freely. My strategy is for him to win them over planet by planet. "
"I will support your decision if he is on board." The emperor told her.
She hugged his arm and leaned her head against his shoulder. "Thank you."
"So have you heard anything at all about Esong?"
The emperor shook his head. It was radio silence as always which was unusual which was very worrisome.
