Transmigrating from a zombie world to become the mecha kings wife-Chapter 625: The pains of governing.
Chapter 625: The pains of governing.
"Hmmm...." Scarlet thought. "I don’t know baby, I haven’t come up with any names so far. I thought we would just call then number one, number two, number three, four and five."
Justin giggled. "That’s silly mommy."
"Oh, is it now?" she asked, with a big smile on her face.
"Yes it is. We should call them Mimi." he suggested. "Mimi one, Mimi two..."
"Now who is being silly." she cut in and asked him. "Let’s do what grandma does give them names in a proper alphabetical order. A, B,C,D and E . They can be the new ABCDE gang."
Justin’s lowered his head and sighed sadly. She looked at him and wondered why he was suddenly down.
Tugging on his arm, she asked. "What’s the matter my munchkin?"
He looked up at her and said with a wistfulness in his voice. "I should have been ’A’ mommy. I am your first baby and the big brother like uncle Adler."
If it was an argument, he was making a strong case. It was true what he said, if she was following in the footsteps of Mega’s naming system, Justin did come first.
"Should I give you a new name then? A name with letter A that we can register legally but everyone can still call you Justin."
As expected, he nodded eagerly and smiled.
She hummed as she thought about the names with letter ’A’ which had great meaning. Adler meant defender, and he had been named so because he was the eldest child, the one to defend his younger siblings. "Do you want to be Adler? I can name you after your uncle?"
Justin shook his head reluctantly. "Uncle Adler said he will have a baby named Adler too. If I am Adler then we will have many Adler’s."
Scarlet laughed a little and she nodded. Justin’s way of thinking was slowly maturing since he started at Bartholomew. He could think about problems logically and even offer solutions when possible. Beord had been right about the noble schools. There way of educating children was very different from the commoner schools.
"Then how about Alexander? It has the same meaning as Adler and I think it’s a nice solid name. What do you think?"
She stopped walking which made him stop walking too. A name was a big deal, she needed to know his true thoughts.
"Alexander." Justin whispered.
"Short form is Alex. Alexander Justin Wu, what do you think?" she asked.
Justin’s lips curved upwards and he smiled. "I like it."
He liked it because she had given to him, because it had a meaning and because he didn’t know anybody else named Alexander. It was a unique name that his mother had given him.
He let go of her hand and looked at her with those glittering excited eyes of his. "I am going to find uncle Adler right now and tell him."
Leaving her beyond, he broke into a jog and run off in search of his favorite uncle.
Following after him slowly she turned the question to her hound. "What do you think Severus, what should I name my little darlings?"
Severus had actually thought about this issue long before Scarlet brought it up. He was not alone, Lythia and Carnelia too often brought it up. However, after all the presumptions which they had taken regarding the children, not a word or opinion was shared with Scarlet. Especially not in the moods she had been exhibiting the further along her pregnancy progressed. She was another sleeping bear that nobody wanted to poke unreasonably.
So, Severus decided to be vague and as general as possible. "Mmm, something related to death. They are grim reapers after all so their names should represent their nature."
"Names related to death____, hmm." She said softly. She would have to check on the underworld forum.
Out of nowhere, she sneezed loudly.
Severus tilted his head upwards and Scarlet rubbed her nose. "I guess someone is talking about me. I wonder who it is." she said.
She didn’t have a cold and she went with a human superstition. freewёbnoνel.com
She was right in her little superstition. She was being discussed but it was not because someone was missing her. On the Blue star, somewhere beyond The Citadel, RGB officers were arresting illegal trespassers for attempting to construct on land which they had not been granted.
The illegal trespassers were some of the newly arrived immigrants from Solaris. They created a commotion which had to be settled personally by the acting governor Emmett Wu.
Standing on the sidelines and watching the prisoners being carted away in police cars and STK drones, Emmett couldn’t help sighing. The pains of governing the Blue star were really endless.
He couldn’t help thinking of his breakfast which he had abandoned midway just to come and deal with this. Yesterday it had been an escaped panda from the zoo, the day before it was a group of wildebeests that somehow made it out of the forest and the one before that it was space pirates that had escaped being captured on the Green star. All these things always happened when it was time for him to eat.
It was like they could sense that he was about to eat and knew just when to strike. He touched his stomach which growled pitifully and sighed again.
"We should send them back to their planet." Captain Zorl who was standing next to him suggested.
"Scarlet would not agree." Emmett told him.
"They are pampered, demanding and annoying. The nobles of Solaris expect everyone to treat them as if they are deities. Our culture and theirs doesn’t match." Zorl grumbled out.
He was tired of cleaning up the mess of Solaris’s nobles. In places where people were supposed to line up, the cut lines and caused fights. In supermarkets, shops, markets or hospitals and schools they wanted to be attended to first.
They wanted to use their flying cars whether it was legal or illegal. They never stopped at red traffic lights or slowed down in school zones. They were a menace, not all of them but most of them.
It was almost as if they had unleashed all of their madness since they were beyond the laws of their planet. Solaris was one of the empires that was ruled with an iron fist by their supreme leader.
Why they were not moved to the capital in the first place was of great confusion to him. The Blue star was not known for treating any one other than the Su’s and the Wu’s with the adoration nobles expected.
"They are not permanent fixtures here and they will be gone before winter comes. Just hang in there for a while and it will all be alright." Emmett told Zorl.
"You don’t sound too sure of yourself." Zorl answered.
Emmett’s words held a bit of skepticism. Zorl couldn’t be sure who he was reassuring between the two of them.
Emmett cleared his throat and said, "I am sure."
"No you aren’t." Zorl said with confidence.
"No, I am not." Emmett finally admired. "I sure do hope Scarlet comes back soon. She would have put them all in their place already. Me on the other hand, I have to skate the line between being a Wu, a member of the ruling family and being the acting governor."
Zorl was inclined to agree with him in this case. If Scarlet was here, they would be meek like lambs, just like all the nobles on the Blue star.
For the second time in his life, Zorl found himself missing Scarlet the governor.
