"Push!"

Yang Meiyi screamed as she pushed, she shook her head and said "I can’t do it anymore."

"Yes, you can. I’m right here baby. Just a little more and we will have our little boy with us." Fu Mingze said as he held her hand tightly.

Yang Meiyi nodded and pushed with a scream and then another scream was heard but this time it was the loud cry of a child.

Fu Mingze looked at the baby in the doctor’s arms and laughed softly as he said "He is beautiful."

Yang Meiyi smiled as she said, "I want to hold him."

The doctor cut off the umbilical cord and gently gave the child to Yang Meiyi and said "Congratulations on a healthy baby boy."

"Is he ok?" Fu Mingze asked anxiously.

"Yes. During our time of monitoring the child, especially during the ninth month, there was no sign of any heart condition, so you can relax now Mr. Fu." The doctor said.

"Mingze, look at him, he has your eyes." Yang Meiyi said with a laugh.

Fu Mingze looked at his child and smiled when he saw a pair of blue eyes staring back at him. He held his baby little hands and whispered "My eyes have never looked so beautiful."

He leaned down to kiss his baby’s forehead and said "Daddy, will always love and protect you."

Fu Mingze looked at Yang Meiyi and kissed her on her forehead as well as he said "Thank you for bringing Fu Liang into my life."

"Fu Liang? I thought you only had girls name."

Fu Mingze smiled and said, "Well, after we found out that it was a boy, I thought of boys name as well."

"Fu Liang, I like it. Do you also like your name, my little chipmunk?" Yang Meiyi asked in a babyish voice but laughed when she saw that little Fu Liang had already begun sleeping.

"You should get some rest as well, I will take care of him." Fu Mingze said as he attempted to take Fu Liang from Yang Meiyi but she moved away and said.

"I don’t want to get separated from him."

"Nothing will happen, when you wake up, your husband and your little chipmunk will still be here by your side."

"You promise."

"I promise." Fu Mingze said and smiled when Yang Meiyi gave the child to him.

Having his baby in his arms for the first time, made Fu Mingze feel like he could do anything for his child. Never in his life, did he ever think that he could feel immersed love for a child.

A few minutes later, a nurse came to take the child and promised to return him after half an hour.

Fu Mingze looked at Yang Meiyi who had already fallen asleep. He walked towards her and pecked her lips, his eyes moved to her ring finger and he gently carress the ring he had given her when she was eighteen. He slowly removed the ring from her fingers and said "You deserve a real wedding Meiyi."

"Where is my great-grandson?" Grandpa Fu asked with a smile.

Yang Meiyi smiled seeing Grandpa Fu’s happiness and looked at the crib next to her.

Grandpa Fu walked to the crib and his smile brightened when he saw the baby’s eyes.

"You ended up having your father’s eyes. Has Mingze given him a name yet?"

Yang Meiyi nodded and said, "His name is Fu Liang."

"What a beautiful name for a beautiful child." Grandpa Fu said as he began making funny faces at the baby who suddenly smiled at him.

"Where is Mingze?" Grandpa Fu asked as he finally felt tired of making funny faces at the little boy.

"He went to complete the discharge papers, I’m sure he will be right back in a few minutes."

"You know that Fu Liang is going to grow up with a huge burden on his shoulders, right?"

The smile on Yang Meiyi’s face faltered as she replied "I know, but Mingze has promised me that he won’t allow Fu Liang to face any hardship."

"And he is working towards keeping that promise but there are some things I doubt Fu Mingze will be able to protect Fu Liang from."

"Then I will protect him from it, the things that Fu Mingze can’t protect Fu Liang from then I will do it. I want Fu Liang to grow up happy and as long as I’m alive I will never allow anything to take away his smile." Yang Meiyi replied firmly.

Grandpa Fu let out a deep sigh and said "I’m glad you came back to Fu Mingze’s life, to be honest, even I knew he wasn’t really happy without you. He is going to be a great dad to Fu Liang, I’m sure of it."

Yang Meiyi touched the blue pendant on her neck as she replied "I know."

In a cafe

"You said you wanted to see me." Yang Meiyi asked as she sat opposite Nie Yujie in a cafe.

"Thank you for coming, do you want coffee or tea?" Nie Yujie asked.

"Tea is fine but what’s wrong? Is everything alright with you and Gu Zhen?"

"Yeah, it is. I called you here to apologize."

"Apologize for what?"

"Remember the time when I told you I couldn’t find out the secret between Gu Zhen and Yang Jia, the truth is I lied."

"I know." Yang Meiyi replied coldly.

Nie Yujie looked at Yang Meiyi in surprise as she asked "You do?"

The Gu family blamed Gu Peng because he was dead but I know it was Gu Zhen." Yang Meiyi said. Nie Yujie fidgeted with her fingers as she asked "You must hate me, don’t you?"

"But still, I’m sorry Meiyi." Nie Yujie said as she looked at her cup of coffee instead of Yang Meiyi.

Yang Meiyi held her hand from across the table and said "No need to say sorry for something you will do again if time were to reverse. I forgive you."

"Really? You forgive me?" Nie Yujie replied as she finally looked at Yang Meiyi in the eyes.

Meiyi smiled as she said, "Yes, I forgive you."

"Does that mean that we are still friends?"

Yang Meiyi nodded with a smile however her smile faltered when she felt eyes on her, she looked around the cafe and saw no one looking at her.

Seeing her reaction, Nie Yujie asked "Is something wrong?"

"No, it’s fine. I just felt as if someone was watching me." Yang Meiyi said with a frown. Maybe she is just stressed, Fu Liang has been taking up all her time, especially at night, perhaps she just needs some sleep.
