Transmigration: Giving The Second Male Lead All The Love I Have.-Chapter 124: Someone Was Watching Her.
"Are you certain that Yang Jia is dead?" Yang Meiyi asked her husband.
"The car fell into the ocean and though her body was not found, it is possible that it was swept by the high current. Among the two officers escorting Yang Jia only one was found and he was found dead. Although the police are still searching, they have already ruled out that she and the other officer are dead." Fu Mingze said, he saw the distant look in his wife’s eyes and asked.
"How do you feel?"
"I-I don’t know. I just find it hard to believe that she is dead." Yang Meiyi said, she could not describe her feelings. She couldn’t say she was sad because that would make her a hypocrite. Though Yang Jia and her grew up as sisters that was in name only and after finding out that it was Yang Jia who killed her mother, she felt nothing but hate for her. Now that Yang Jia is dead, Yang Meiyi felt like there was no one to direct her hatred and anger to.
Fu Mingze pulled her into his embrace and said "It’s over Meiyi. Let’s just be happy from now."
A tear slipped from her eyes as she nodded and wrapped her hands around her husband.
...
"You are joking, right? My daughter can’t be dead." Yang Jiu said to his mother who had come to deliver the news.
Grandma Yang’s heart ached at her son’s reaction, she knew how much her son loved his daughter and she could not imagine what he must be going through.
"The police are saying that perhaps her body was swept by the current of the river but they are certain that she is dead." Grandma Yang said with a bitter smile.
Yang Jiu suddenly let out a loud cry, he didn’t care who was looking at him, he just cried and kept crying for his lost daughter.
"I failed her, my daughter is dead because of me." Yang Jiu said as he continued sobbing.
"She is dead because of her actions and not because of you. I admit that we didn’t raise her rightly but still, Yang Jia has never had a pure heart and perhaps she may find peace in death." Grandma Yang said, trying to console her son who just kept crying.
The policemen looked away and decided to not bother the mother and father duo for a while. Even though the man was a criminal, he had just lost his daughter, even a criminal would feel immense pain at such a loss.
My Yang Jia, will you find peace as you are gone or should I come with you? Yang Jiu thought to himself, ignoring his mother’s comforting words.
...
Three weeks Later.
Jiachen Estate
"I don’t want to attend Yang Jiu hearing, I will just watch it from here." Yang Meiyi said. Three weeks have passed since Yang Jia was declared dead and Yang Jiu’s hearing which was supposed to be the week after Yang Jia’s hearing was postponed to today and to be honest, Yang Meiyi did not feel like going at all.
"I’m sorry you couldn’t make the court charge Yang Jiu with murder of your grandfather but he will still pay for his crimes."
"I know. Till today I keep wondering what Yang Jia could have done to Qiang Du to make her take the fall for Grandpa Sang’s death."
"It doesn’t matter anymore, Yang Jiu will pay for his crimes, and that will give Grandpa Sang peace. It will give you peace."
Yang Meiyi smiled and said, "It will."
Fu Mingze leaned forward to kiss her forehead when he heard his phone ringing. He pecks her lips before going to collect his phone that he has placed on the table.
"Xia Lian, if you are calling about the meeting then tell that...."
"Yang Jiu is dead." Xia Lian said before Fu Mingze could complete his statement.
"What?"
"The police found him dead in his prison cell when they were about to escort him to the court."
Fu Mingze looked at Yang Meiyi who was giving him a questioning look and asked "How did he die?"
"Poison, he must have found a way to collect a deadly poison from outside, he even left a note saying how happy he is to go meet his Yang Jia in a better world." Xia Lian said with a scoff.
Fu Mingze ran his hands through his hair and cursed "I can’t believe that bastard killed himself."
"Who killed himself?" Yang Meiyi asked.
Fu Mingze looked at Yang Meiyi and said to Xia Lian "I will call you back."
"Yes sir."
"I will tell you but you have to promise not to get agitated. Remember that the doctor said you should take care of your health now more than ever." Fu Mingze said softly.
"I know, I was there when the doctor said it and I am not getting agitated, I just want to know who killed himself. It wasn’t Yang Jiu right?" Yang Meiyi asked with eyes filled with unshed tears.
"Meiyi." Fu Mingze called out gently. "I’m so sorry."
"No, he wouldn’t have done that." Yang Meiyi said crying at the thought that she had lost the only man she knew as a father and whenever she would remember her childhood, all those times that he was good to her, her tears would flow more and more.
As always, Fu Mingze comforted his wife and knew that this would be the last time that she would cry for Yang Jiu. He knew she was crying over the death of the man who was her father, the man who once loved her and treated her as his daughter and he also knew that after today, the Yang family Chapter will forever be close in their lives and for that he was glad.
After Yang Jiu’s funeral, Grandma Yang begged Yang Meiyi to take her in but Yang Meiyi refused and sent her to an old age home with poor facilities, after all, she had never liked the old woman.
...
With her round belly, Yang Meiyi gently placed a flower on her mother’s grave and said "It’s finally over mom, now both you and Grandpa Sang can rest in peace."
After speaking to her mother for a few more minutes, Yang Meiyi felt as if someone was watching her but when she looked around she saw no one and it made her wonder if she was just being paranoid.
