Standing in front of a restaurant, Yang Meiyi looked at Fu Mingze’s number for a long time before sending a text.

[Can we meet up and talk?]

[Of course. Where are you?]

Seeing Fu Mingze’s immediate response brought a fresh wave of tears to her eyes. No, she has to be strong for little Lei’s sake. So with that thought, she sent the name of the restaurant to him.

Within thirty minutes, she saw Fu Mingze’s car pulled over in front of her and instead of Xia Lian who usually drives, he was driving.

Fu Mingze came out of the car and asked "Why are you just standing here, aren’t you cold?"

Yang Meiyi shook her head with a smile and asked "Have you had dinner?"

Rather than answering her, Fu Mingze cupped her face and said "Your eyes look swollen, have you been crying?"

"I’m fine, just hungry." Yang Meiyi said as she let out a forced smile.

Fu Mingze knew the smile was a forced one but he decided not to say anything about it and just grabbed her hand as he led her into the restaurant while saying "Then let’s feed you."

After dinner and Yang Meiyi drinking four glasses of red wine before Fu Mingze stopped her, they both decided to take a walk instead of driving, after all he could always ask Xia Lian to take the car.

Fu Mingze glanced at a quiet Yang Meiyi and said "You are thinking of something and I would like to know what it is."

Yang Meiyi clenched her fist tightly as she suddenly said "Let’s break up."

Fu Mingze stopped to look at her "You are joking, right?"

Without looking at him, Yang Meiyi said "After everything that has happened, I realized that my feelings for you may not be true after all."

"Are you being serious right now? We have been married for three years and you suddenly realized that your feelings for me aren’t true?" He held her arm tightly and said "You drank a lot at the restaurant, I will take you home then we’ll talk tomorrow."

Yang Meiyi finally looked at him and said "We won’t see each other tomorrow because I’m going abroad. I can’t stay here anymore Mingze, this place is suffocating me, you are suffocating me. I need to breathe and I can’t do that if I’m with you."

Fu Mingze looked at Yang Meiyi in disbelief and didn’t even try to hide the hurt her words had caused him, he released his hold on her and said "You said we were all right."

"That was because I wanted us to be all right, but I can’t pretend anymore."

"I know you are hurting right now because of your mom and grandfather, but right now Meiyi, you are breaking my heart."

Yang Meiyi couldn’t stop her tears from flowing when she heard his words, she felt his hand wiping her tears and said "We can fix this. Whatever it is, we both can fix it, just tell me what to do to fix this."

Yang Meiyi forcefully removed his hand from her face and said "There is nothing you can do. I just don’t feel the same way anymore."

"Then say it, tell me you don’t love me Yang Meiyi."

"What?"

Fu Mingze walked closer to her and said "Say you don’t love me Meiyi, that’s the only way I will believe all the nonsense you just said to me."

Yang Meiyi looked into his eyes and said "I don’t love you Fu Mingze. Now that I think about it, perhaps all I have ever felt for you was just a childish infatuation and this situation has made me realize my true feelings for you."

Yang Meiyi watched as he stepped back, she watched as those eyes which had always looked at her with love became cold as he laughed coldly and said "Fine, It was my mistake. I truly wondered what I was thinking back then, falling in love and marrying an eighteen-year-old. If you want to end things Meiyi, then we will end it. I won’t force you to stay with me but remember this Yang Meiyi, you are never allowed to come back into my life if you leave now." Fu Mingze threatened, hoping those words will bring her back to her senses but seeing the determine and cold look on Yang Meiyi face, he made a decision in his heart and said "Since no one knew of our marriage, we can just pretend it didn’t happen and if you are not satisfied with that, then I will send you the divorce papers."

Why was he talking to her as if she was one of his business partners? How could he suddenly become so cold to her? Yang Jiu may have forced her out of this country but she will never divorce Fu Mingze. She was about to tell him that there was no need to send divorce papers when she heard him asking "Can I have my mom’s pendant back?"

Yang Meiyi squeezed her hands and said in a weak voice "I’m sorry but I lost it."

"You lost it? You knew how much it meant to me and you lost it?" Fu Mingze asked coldly. Does that mean she didn’t really love him? Was he just a plaything to her for three years.

"I’m sorry."

Fu Mingze shook his head and said "No, don’t apologize for that because I will never forgive you for losing the only thing I had left of my mom. Goodbye Meiyi and enjoy your flight."

Yang Meiyi watched as he walked away, she badly wanted to chase after him but knew she couldn’t so right there, she sobbed as if she was dying tomorrow, because to her she was already dead inside. She had lost her mother and grandfather and now she drove away the only man she had ever loved and he may never forgive her for that.

"I did it, I ended things with Fu Mingze and my flight ticket is already ready to leave tomorrow so now I need assurance that Little Lei will get her heart surgery tomorrow."

Yang Jiu smiled and said "Of courseshe will, infact because of your hard work and effort to save her life, I have done you the favor of calling one of the best cardiologists of Country M, he will be arriving tomorrow morning to perform little Lei’s surgery himself. You see, I’m not as heartless as you think."

"I will go pack my things." Yang said, ignoring his comment of not being heartless.

"Hold on! I need you to sign this." Yang Jiu said as he bought out a document before her.

"And what is that?"

"It’s the transfer of ownership of your resort to Yang Jia. Although it may not seem like it but I am doing this for your good. Since you are leaving, it’s best if you don’t have any more ties to this place."

Yang Meiyi laughed bitterly and said, "Just when I thought I had seen the worst of you." She grabbed a pen signed the paper and left the office without looking back.

Yang Meiyi went to her room and collected a picture of her and her mother. It was one of the days when her mother brought her to an amusement park when she was little. To Yang Meiyi it was the first time she had been at her amusement park as a child perhaps that was why she held onto this picture. She used her hand to trace Sang Xiu’s features and said "You shouldn’t worry too much about me. Little Lei is going to be fine and although I am leaving I promise you that I will be back and when I come back I will take back everything they took from me. I will make Yang Jiu pay for what he did to Grandpa Sang and no matter what it will cost me I will ensure that I reduce the Yang family to nothing and I will get Mingze back. This is my promise to you Mom."
