Dressed in a button-up shirt and a professional trouser, Yang Meiyi stood in front of the Fu group with a smile and entered inside.

All the information for her work had already been sent to her, so she knew exactly what floor she would be working and to her delight, it was the highest floor, the same floor Fu Mingze’s office resides.

Rather than going to Fu Mingze floor immediately, Yang Meiyi went to the office of the hiring manager.

The hiring manager smiled when he saw her and said "Miss Yang, you are finally here." He opened a small box that was on his table and said "Inside here is your employee ID and job description, you will be working as the third secretary of Mr. Fu. I hope you don’t mind, it is the closest to Mr.Fu that I could find for you, in fact in this company there is no one closer to Mr Fu than Secretary Xia. Yang Meiyi collected her employee ID from the box and removed a folder from it as she said "It’s fine. I already know that no one can replace Xia Lian."

She glanced through the folder and asked "This contains my job description right?"

The hiring manager smiled and said "Yes. Though you are now a secretary to the CEO, you must understand that both you and Secretary Xia are not in the same place, if he gives you an order you must carry it out without any complaints."

"I understand but Fu Mingze only works with three secretaries on his floor, if you were able to give me this position then what happened to the former person in here."

"It was Miss Ye who fired her, she said the girl was trying to seduce Mr. Fu with the way she was dressing."

"Miss Ye? Who is that and does she have the right to fire Fu Mingze employee?"

"You may not know this but it is said that very soon Miss Ye Qingyi will become Madam Fu so if the reason you want this job is to seduce Mr Fu then just forget about it. Knowing Miss Ye, she might ask Fu Mingze to fire you, especially seeing how beautiful you are."

Ye Qingyi was the name of the girl at the party. Does that mean she and Fu Mingze are together? Is there no chance between them anymore? Yang Meiyi looked at the hiring manager and said "Thank you for your help and your advice but rest assured that I can take care of myself."

The hiring manager watched as she walked out of his office and shook his head with a sigh. "The things women do for the boss, I can’t say I don’t understand, and besides which woman in her right mind wouldn’t be attracted to a rich and handsome man like Mr. Fu? Even me stared at him when he passed, talkless of those women."

With her employee ID around her neck, Yang Meiyi pressed the top floor in the elevator and when the elevator door opened, Yang Meiyi stared in awe for a moment before stepping out of the elevator.

Inside a huge glass door was an open office situated with about fifteen secretaries. Each workstation was separated by a glass partition to give the secretaries a sense of privacy.

The CEO floor didn’t just contain the CEO’s office but the offices of all the top executives of the Fu group. Once you become an assistant to either of these executives you are moved to this floor and whatever you hear here, must never leave this floor unless you will not only be fired but sued as well.

The only secretary who had his own office was Xia Lian. The top executives were only allowed to have two assistants each, only Fu Mingze had three.

Yang Meiyi was awed at the sight in front of her, every assistant was busy with something on their computer, and no one even raised their head to look at her. As much as she was awed, she also felt very awkward because everyone here was very serious with their work and why wouldn’t they be, she had once heard that it takes up to ten years for one to be promoted to the top floor but when they make any mistake, they will either be demoted or fire. She was only here to get closer to Fu Mingze, but seeing them so hardworking made her feel out of place.

But the good thing was no one would recognize her because the top executives were not only known for firing their assistants for no good reason but also there was a rule that after two years of working as an assistant to a top executive, you would not only be given an office of your own but also you will be promoted as a departmental head. So as Yang Meiyi looked at the new faces in front of her she was sure that those people from two years ago had either been promoted or fired.

"Are you Mr Fu’s new secretary?"

Yang Meiyi turned to look at the receptionist who was asking her a question. It was a woman in her fifties and has been working for Fu Mingze for six years now. The woman’s eyes flashed with recognition when Yang Meiyi turned to her and said "Yang Meiyi?"

Yang Meiyi smiled and as she said "Mrs Rao, you look even more beautiful than two years ago."

Mrs Rao looked at Yang Meiyi in surprise, she didn’t expect to see her again. Her heart has always ached for the couple who suddenly broke off their engagement without any explanation, she wondered what happened to both of them. They were such a sweet couple and ever since Meiyi left, she has never seen a genuine smile on her boss’s face again.

Mrs Rao, dragged her to a corner and asked "Why are you here?"

Yang Meiyi showed her the employee ID and said "I now work here."

"You are Mr. Fu’s new secretary."

Yang Meiyi smiled and said "I remember Fu Mingze has permitted you to call him by his name. Did he take it back?"

Mrs Rao laughed softly and said "Of course not, but he is still my boss so during working hours I still prefer to call him Mr. Fu. Does he know you are here?"

Yang Meiyi shook her head and said "Two years ago I messed up and now I’m trying to make it better. But he doesn’t want to see me so I thought I could sneak in to be his assistant."

"What if he fires you?"

"Trust me, he won’t." Yang Meiyi replied with confidence.

Mrs Rao sighed with a smile in her eyes as she said "I wish you the best. I hope the both of you will solve your indifferences and be together again."

"Miss Yang?"

A voice called Yang Meiyi from behind. She tensed up when she realized the owner of that voice and to confirm it, she turned to the voice and saw Xia Lian looking back at her with so much coldness, that there was not even an ounce of emotion in his eyes.

How great! Both her husband and his assistant hate her.
