Xia Lian looks at the employee ID on Yang Meiyi’s neck and frowns. Why was she wearing that? When and how did she become an employee of Fu Group?
"What are you doing here?" Xia Lian finally asked in a cold tone.
The first time Yang Meiyi met Xia Lian she thought he had the eyes of a murderer and with the time she spent with Fu Mingze, she realized the man standing in front of her could do anything for Fu Mingze. This loyalty came to be when Fu Mingze found him on the street beaten and starved.
At that time Fu Mingze was just fifteen years old, while Xia Lian was a ten years old boy. Fu Mingze took him home, fed him, and even gave him a room but Grandpa Fu said that the only way he would allow the boy to stay with them was if he became a member of the Xia family and Xia Lian agreed.
He moved into the Xia headquarters and trained day and night so that he would be picked to become Fu Mingze’s guard instead of Butler Xia’s son.
Instead of feeling intimidated by his cold gaze, Yang Meiyi smiled and held her employee ID as she said "I’m the new assistant for Fu Ming.... I mean for Mr. Fu."
Xia Lian frowned when he heard her words, he looked at her smiling face and became angry. After everything she has done to his boss, she still smiles. "You are fired."
Yang Meiyi froze for a moment when she heard those words, she came to her senses when Xia Lian walked passed her and she immediately said "You can’t fire me."
Xia Lian turned and said "I am in charge of all Mr. Fu’s assistants, therefore I can fire you and I just did. I have no idea how you came in here but you need to leave."
"Well, I’m not going anywhere."
"I will just call security."
"Xia Lian! Do not forget who I am." Yang Meiyi knew Fu Mingze told him about their marriage, she is Fu Mingze’s wife so how dare he speak to her like that?
Xia Lian glared at her and replied "I can never forget who you are. Because of you, he spent two months in the hospital, so it is impossible to forget you, Miss Yang."
What? Fu Mingze spent two months in the hospital when she left. She was about to ask more when she heard Xia Lian’s cold voice saying "Leave before I call security."
"Then call your security." Yang Meiyi challenged. There was neither fear nor anxiousness in her eyes.
Xia Lian on the other hand wasn’t going to call security to drag her out after all she was still his boss’s wife and first love, so he just walked away without saying anything.
Yang Meiyi sighed in relief when Xia Lian left.
Mrs Rao who had been quiet all through finally said to Yang Meiyi "No matter the event that happened between you and the boss two years ago, I’m still rooting for you. I just have this feeling that you are the only one who can make him happy."
Yang Meiyi smiled and said, "Thank you."
Just then a girl dressed in a professional skirt and blouse walked up to her and looked at Yang Meiyi with a smile as she said "You must be Miss Yang right?"
Yang Meiyi nodded and said "Yes."
"Secretary Xia has asked that I show you your workplace, reading the folder in your hand will help you to understand your duties properly but as Fu Mingze’s secretary, you will mostly be receiving orders from Secretary Xia rather than Mr. Fu himself."
Yang Meiyi nodded in understanding and followed her. The professionally dressed lady led her inside the glass door and clapped her hands loudly before all heads raised from their activity to look at her.
She smiled and pointed to Yang Meiyi as she said "This is Mr Fu new assistant, Miss Yang. Please make her feel welcome."
They nodded their head and went back to their work. Yang Meiyi felt weird, it was as if they were robots.
"Don’t worry you will get used to it. I haven’t told you my name right? You can call me Mrs Sun."
"Mrs? You are married?" Yang Meiyi asked in surprise.
Mrs Sun nodded with a smile.
It was then Yang Meiyi noticed the ring on Mrs Sun’s wedding finger, she unconsciously touched her finger and remembered the ring and necklace lying under her pillow. She couldn’t bear to just keep it in a corner so she slept with it every night and though it may sound crazy, but having her ring and his necklace always made her feel that he was still hers.
"Did I say something wrong?" Mrs Sun asked when she saw the dazed look in Yang Meiyi’s eyes.
Yang Meiyi shook her head and asked "Where will be my workstation?"
Mrs Sun smiled led her to an empty seat and said "This is your workstation."
Yang Meiyi saw the empty seat beside hers and heard Mrs Sun saying "That workstation belongs to the other assistant of Mr. Fu, she is on leave because her mother is sick. Mr Fu gave her a one-week leave for her to take good care of her mother. If you have any more questions you can ask me, my office is just down the hallway."
"You have an office?" Yang Meiyi blurted out in surprise.
Her loud voice made the other secretaries raise their heads and look at her with a frown.
Yang Meiyi noticed their glare and bowed her head in apology, she also noticed that the smile on Mrs Sun’s face faltered a little before regaining its brightness.
"Yes, i have an office. Get busy and I will see you later."
Yang Meiyi nodded and watched as she left. She looked at the folder on her desk and decided to just read it until Fu Mingze found out about her employee and tried to fire her.

"There is something I need to tell you, boss." Xia Lian said as Fu Mingze just kept signing documents and keeping them aside.
Fu Mingze glanced at Xia Lian for a moment before going back to signing the documents on his desk and said "If my grandfather is bothering you about my whereabouts then ignore him, I will take care of the old man." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
"It’s not about the old master, it’s about Mrs Fu." Xia Lian said with a straight face.
Fu Mingze hand on his pen froze and he fixed his gaze on Xia Lian as he asked "What about her?"
"I do not know how she got in, but she is here in Fu group as your assistant."
"What do you mean she is in the Fu group? How is that possible?"
"Mr Chu who is the hiring manager must have hired her without knowing about her true nature. I did try to fire her and even threatened her with calling security but she didn’t budge and insisted on not going anywhere."
"Send her in."
