After his conversation with Zhang Chun, Fu Mingze came back to the beach and saw her waiting for him, diligently building a sand castle. He laughed softly when she tried to remove her hair from her face but ended up leaving some sand on her nose. With his hand in his pocket, Fu Mingze walked toward her and said "Your castle looks like a haunted house."

Yang Meiyi raised her head when she heard his voice and smiled. He came back to her!

As if hearing her thought, he squatted down to her level and gently cleaned the sand from her nose saying "I will always come back to you."

"Where did you go?"

"To meet someone who made me realize what an idiot I have been."

"But you are not an idiot. You are the smartest person know." Yang Meiyi said with a smile.

Fu Mingze looked at her smile and wondered how she was still able to smile at him after abandoning her. "Don’t you hate me?"

"Why would I hate you?" Yang Meiyi asked as she looked at him confusedly.

"For leaving you there alone for two years, for not realizing that you could have been forced."

"Yes, I did hate you a little. I hated you because, for you to believe I didn’t love you, meant you never believed all the times I had told you that I loved you. You are so cruel Mingze, you even sent me a divorce paper without speaking to me once."

"I did come but when I saw Zhang Chun I thought...."

"You thought I left you for him. You are right, you are an idiot." Yang Meiyi replied with watery eyes, she steeled herself not to let the tears flow as she said "My hatred for you has never lasted for five minutes though, I love you too much to hate you for that long."

Fu Mingze moved his hand to her cheek and caressed it gently, he placed his forehead and whispered "I love you Meiyi."

Yang Meiyi couldn’t even reply before he crashed his lips against hers and what started as a slow kiss quickly turned into an aggressive and passionate one.

Fu Mingze moved closer to her, scattering her sand castle and deepening their kiss. Kissing her now made him wonder how he survived two years without her lips and her scent. How did he survive without her at all?

Yang Meiyi let out a soft moan when he sucked on her tongue and was about to wrap her hands around him when he suddenly pulled away, making her groan in frustration.

Yang Meiyi opened her eyes and despite her heavy breathing she asked "Why did you stop?"

Fu Mingze smiled and rubbed his thumb on her lips as he whispered "Because you made a sound only I am entitled to hear."

"A sound..." It was then she realized that she had just moaned out loud and in public. How could she forget that they were in public, she even wanted to never stop. She looked around the beach and even though most of the people were focusing on their affairs, it still didn’t change the embarrassment she felt from having moaned loudly.

Seeing her flushed cheek put a huge smile on Fu Mingze’s face, he pecked her cheek and said "You look so cute when you are fluster."

Yang Meiyi who was about to retort suddenly had a horrified expression on her face as she shouted "My sand castle!"

"You mean your hunted house?" Fu Mingze asked amusedly.

Yang Meiyi scoffed and said "As if you could build a better one."

"Then let’s do this. If I build a better sandcastle then you will have to fulfill a request of mine."

"What if I build a better one than you?"

"Then I will fulfill a request of yours."

"Then let’s do it. I don’t believe that you are good at everything."

Fu Mingze chuckled softly and said, "We’ll see."

Within forty minutes, both were done with building their sandcastle.

Yang Meiyi just kept glancing from her castle to his. Come to think of it, perhaps her castle does look like a haunted house, she looked at Fu Mingze’s sand castle and wondered how he was able to build such a beautiful castle with sand.

She looked at his smiling face and said "You must have cheated."

"How could I have cheated? Just accept your defeat." Fu Mingze said with a huge smile on his face.

"How do you even know how to build a sandcastle? There’s no way I will believe Grandpa Fu took you to the beach as a child." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

Fu Mingze laughed softly and said "He didn’t. It was my mom who took me to the beach every weekend until she started working on the weekends as well. After her death, I have never been to the beach until you came along."

"You miss her a lot, don’t you?" Yang Meiyi asked with a sad smile. She has always felt bad for Fu Mingze losing his mother as a child and now that she knows how that felt, her heart aches badly for the seven-year-old boy who lost the only parent he had ever known.

"I wish there was something I could have done for her. I wish she didn’t have to work so hard to the point of getting sick just to provide for me and I wish I could hug her again even if it’s just once."

Yang Meiyi walked towards him and hugged him tightly and when she felt his hand around her, she said "I’m sure she is happy wherever she is because she knows that you are not alone, and if we have a baby girl we can name her after your mum." Though it was for a moment, Meiyi felt the way he became stiff at the mention of a child and this wasn’t the first time, before their separation whenever they would mention a child, he would always become tense and immediately change the subject. Could it be that Fu Mingze doesn’t want to have a child with her?

Her suspicious thought became confirmed when he held her tighter and said "Thank you but we don’t need to do that and besides we just came back together after separating for two years, it’s too early to talk about a child. As for my mom, her memories will always be in my heart."

Fu Mingze looked at the ocean in a daze after saying those words and wondered how long he could make up these excuses whenever she talked about having a child.
