Transmigration: Giving The Second Male Lead All The Love I Have.-Chapter 74: Yang Meiyi Is My Wife And I Will Never Allow That To Change.
Zhang Chun stepped into a bar playing a soft piano tone, he sighted the person who had called him to meet here and walked forward to meet him "I don’t know what surprised me more, the fact that you called me or you wanting to meet me at a bar."
"I will make it quick, what happened to Yang Meiyi when she was at the state?" Fu Mingze asked with a coldly.
A bartender came towards them to ask what they wanted to drink but both of them said "Nothing."
Zhang Chun smiled slightly and after the bartender left, said "Why don’t you ask her?"
"She said she was forced out of Country M by Yang Jiu and while she was in the state she became depressed." 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
"And you called me because you didn’t believe her right? Do you think she is lying to you?"
"No, I know she isn’t lying to me but there is more she isn’t telling me."
"What makes you think that I will tell you that more?" Zhang Chun asked with a sly smile
"Because you know I can help her."
Zhang Chun sighed and signaled the bartender to come to their table. After the bartender stood in front of them he said "Give me one of your strongest drinks, Thank you."
After the bartender bought the drink, Zhang Chun drank a little and said "At that time, it had been two months since Meiyi came to the state, my mom was worried so she asked me to search for her. When I found her she looked as if she hadn’t slept for days, her eyes were tired and she looked so lonely that my heart continually ached for her. I was so worried about her that I followed her to her apartment, we spoke a little but I could see that every smile she smiled was fake. Tell me something Fu Mingze, how could you have ever believed that she doesn’t love you?"
"I...I don’t know."
"That day, I made up an excuse to sleep over because I was so worried, I couldn’t just leave. When we said goodnight and I was about to go to sleep, Meiyi suddenly came out of her bedroom and started searching everywhere, she scattered the whole living room and I asked her repeatedly what she was searching for but she didn’t answer. She ran out of the house and I immediately followed her wondering where she was going at such late hour. It was as if she was retracing her step and then she suddenly stopped, she picked something from the floor and to be honest I was speechless when I realized that she was searching for a necklace."
"A necklace? How did it looked like?" Fu Mingze asked.
"It had a blue pendant. When she found the necklace, she held it close to her heart and burst into tears. I stayed with her until she stopped crying and led her back to the house, i had to duplicate the keys of her house without her knowing because I was so worried." Zhang Chun finished the drink in his glass and continued "A week later I visited her again, I knocked on the door and kept knocking but there was no answer so I had to enter with the keys I had duplicated. The house was so quiet that I thought perhaps she wasn’t around and as I was about to leave I heard the ringing of her phone coming from the room, I immediately rushed there and saw her lying on the floor close to her bed, her breathing was so shallow that I thought....."
Zhang Chun didn’t need to complete his statement for him to know what he met. Fu Mingze felt as if a hand was squeezing his heart tightly, punishing him for leaving her alone. He should have never allowed her to go, he should have stayed with her even when she drove him away, what would have happened if Zhang Chun had never been there, would he have lost her forever?
"When I took her to the hospital the doctor said if I had come a minute later then she would have been gone. Yang Meiyi stayed in the hospital for three weeks, she was diagnosed with severe depression and was asked to see a psychiatrist. The doctor advised that she shouldn’t stay alone so I moved to her house and seeing the psychiatrist helped, she became better just within six months of seeing the psychiatrist. Slept better, ate better, and even got her business degree just like her mom had wanted to but..."
"But what?"
"But she also became different, more grown up. More... I don’t know how to explain it but you have seen her, it’s like the old Yang Meiyi died that day on that overdose, she has become stronger."
"I have seen her and I understand what you mean. Thank you for taking care of her."
Zhang Chun shook his head and said "I didn’t do it for you, I did for her."
Fu Mingze looked at Zhang Chun in silence for a moment before he suddenly asked "Do you still love her?"
"I will always love her but as my friend."
"No romantic feelings?"
Zhang Chun frowned and said, "That’s none of your business."
Fu Mingze nodded in agreement as he stood up "Thank you for telling me about her"
"I didn’t tell you this so that you will get to know what happened to her in the US, I told you all this so that you will always feel guilty for abandoning her, for leaving her alone without checking on her once. You know, a lot of things might have changed about Yang Meiyi but one thing didn’t change. Her love for you has never changed, you were the one who gave her the blue pendant right? You don’t deserve her and i hope one day she sees it."
"And I hope you stop waiting for that day to come because Yang Meiyi is my wife and I will never allow that to change. Have a nice day Mr Zhang." Fu Mingze said and walked out of the bar.
Zhang Chun on the other called the bartender and ordered more drinks. As he drank he wondered if he still had any romantic feelings for Yang Meiyi.
