After his talk with Ye Qingyi who refused to listen to him, Fu Mingze decided to immerse himself in work. He wondered how he was going to tell Yang Meiyi that he was getting engaged to another woman in three days. Even though it was a temporary engagement, the thought of putting a ring on another woman’s finger did not sit well.

He heard a knock on the door and permitted the person to enter.

Xia Lian entered while holding a file and dropped it on Fu Mingze’s desk saying "These are all the projects the Yang corporation has been involved in for the past two years. Although he has built the Sang enterprise as well but whenever a huge project comes his way, the Yang corporation handles it."

Fu Mingze read through the file and asked "Is Sky Corporation his new business partner?"

"Yes."

"But I have never heard of that name before." Fu Mingze said.

"It’s an investment company. For some reason, they have decided to invest in Yang Jiu’s newest project."

"What project is that?"

"It’s a multi-billion project, sir. It involved the building and renovation of so shopping malls, airports, and districts, not only in Country M but in Country C. When it reaches the right time those buildings will be worth billions."

"How was he able to win such a contract?"

"It seems he had someone on the inside who helped him out."

"This project will require a lot of money, it doesn’t make sense for a company to take such risk."

"Yang Jiu made a deal of giving them 30% of his profit from this project."

"But still ...." Then a thought came to Fu Mingze as he asked, "What was their collateral?"

"Sang Enterprise."

Fu Mingze closed the file as he said "Find out who the CEO of Sky Corporation is. I need to know everything about this company especially when it was published."

Xia Lian nodded and was about to leave when his phone vibrated. He immediately checked his phone and said "Sir, you need to see this."

Fu Mingze took his assistant phone and Xia Lian felt goosebumps when he saw pure anger on his boss’s face. Regardless of his hatred for the young Miss Yang, even he felt angry as he watched Yang Jiu giving a hard slap to Yang Meiyi.

Fu Mingze gave Xia Lian back his phone as he tried his best to control his anger. How dare Yang Jiu raise his filthy hand on his wife?

Seeing his boss anger, Xia Lian asked "Should I take down the video?"

"No." Fu Mingze said firmly. He stood up and continued "Clear my schedule for the rest of the day and don’t do anything regarding the video without my consent. Wait for my instructions."

Xia Lian was surprised by his boss’s order. He thought his boss was going to give orders on how to destroy Yang Jiu but what he didn’t expect was for his boss to tell him nothing should be done about the video. Regardless of all the questions bothering him, Xia Lian replied "Yes sir."

Immediately he entered his car, Fu Mingze called Yang Meiyi and asked "Where are you?

Yang Meiyi could sense the anger in his voice when he asked her whereabouts. She licked her wounded lips and said "In my apartment." She was about to say more when the call ended. There was no doubt that he had already seen the video of her being slapped by Yang Jiu and she was sure he was coming to scold her.

It’s a good thing Ma Xin left to meet her secret journalist/lover.

Twenty minutes later Yang Meiyi heard a knock on the door, she slowly rushed to open it because she knew, she would be faced with an angry looking Fu Mingze. And true to her thought, as soon as she opened the door, she saw Fu Mingze cold eyes looking at her angrily.

"Are you out of your mind? When I told you to get back at him, I didn’t mean you should go get slapped by him." Fu Mingze said furiously as he entered her apartment.

Rather than arguing with him or saying something to defend herself, Yang Meiyi wrapped her hands around him and hid her face in his chest.

"This won’t make my anger go away." Fu Mingze said after a few seconds.

"I know. I know you don’t approve of my method but it was the quickest thing I could think of to make his company stock drop."

Fu Mingze wrapped his arms around her and said "Next time let me be the one making the plans, I can no longer trust that brain of yours."

Yang Meiyi laughed and hugged him tighter.

"I feel like killing him for raising his hands on you."

Yang Meiyi raised her head to look at him and asked "Don’t you feel like kissing me instead."

Fu Mingze held her face gently, he touched her swollen cheek and said "It must have hurt a lot, right? I know you planned to make him hit you but he still has to pay for touching my wife."

Yang Meiyi smiled sheepishly and said, "I love it when you call me your wife." She removed her hands from his waist and wrapped it around his neck "Now stop being so angry and kiss me."

Fu Mingze smiled softly and leaned forward to kiss her. After their brief kiss, Fu Mingze placed his thumb on her wounded lip as he said "Don’t ever do that again. Don’t put yourself in situations where you will get hurt, let me be your shield Meiyi, allow me to protect you."

Yang Meiyi nodded and said, "I won’t do it again."

Fu Mingze pulled her into his arms and took in a deep breath, taking in her scent. A scent that has always been able to calm him down. He wanted to tell her about his temporary engagement with Ye Qingyi but he felt like it wasn’t the right time yet. He wanted to spend time with her in his arms just like this before getting into another argument with her.
