By 8 pm, Fu Mingze came out of Fu’s group and was surprised to see Yang Meiyi squatting at a corner. He walked towards her and asked "What are you doing here? Why didn’t you call me?"

Yang Meiyi stood up and said, "I wanted to wait for you."

Fu Mingze frowned and asked, "How long have you been here?"

"Hmmmm...Just about thirty minutes."

Fu Mingze looked at her in disbelief and asked "Are you an idiot? What if today was one of those days I spend the night in the office?"

"Then I would have slept here, after all, I won’t be allowed to see you anymore after your engagement to Ye Qingyi. I should start practicing." Yang Meiyi said with a smile on her face.

Fu Mingze looked at Xia Lian and said "Go bring the car over."

Xia Lian nodded and left.

"How did you find out? Who told you?" Fu Mingze asked.

"Are you seriously asking me that? I am the one who is supposed to be questioning you not the other way round. Why didn’t you tell me that you were getting engaged to Ye Qingyi? Or did you plan on getting engaged to her and then keep me at the side?" Yang Meiyi asked in anger.

"You are overthinking things." Fu Mingze replied calmly.

Fu Mingze’s calmness only fueled the anger in Yang Meiyi. She raised her hand and began hitting his chest as she said "I can’t believe you were going to get engaged to her while touching me so affectionately. Fu Mingze, you shouldn’t forget that you are already a married man, how dare you think of being with someone else?"

Fu Mingze grabbed both of her hands and brought his lips to her. He kissed her harder when he felt her resisting and didn’t hesitate to make the kiss deeper after she gave in and parted her lips.

They kissed for a while before he slowly pulled away and said with a smile "I love seeing you jealous."

Yang Meiyi suddenly became flushed as she said "I...I wasn’t jealous."

Fu Mingze smiled and held her hand as he said "Why don’t we go home and talk."

Yang Meiyi looked at their joined hands and nodded her head. Fu Mingze led her to the car Xia Lian drove over and opened the back seat for her.

After getting in the car, Fu Mingze looked at Xia Lian and said "Drive."

Fu Mingze watched Yang Meiyi who has been quiet ever since the start of the ride. He watched as she rested her head on the window and closed her eyes.

After seeing that her breath has become even, he moved closer to her and placed her head on his shoulder as he gently said to Xia Lian "Drive slowly and to Jiachen estate."

Jiachen estate? Does his boss want to go back to the estate? Without questioning Fu Mingze’s orders, Xia Lian continued his drive and this time it was to Jiachen estate and not Zhai Villa.

Yang Meiyi opened her eyes and noticed that the car had stopped moving. Her eyes went to the driver’s seat but there was no one there, it was then she noticed where they were. Why was she at Jiachen estate?

"You are awake?"

Yang Meiyi raised her head from his shoulder to look at him and asked "Why are we here?"

"You don’t want to be here?"

"No, I do. I just don’t know if you want to be here."

Fu Mingze smiled and said "Now that my runaway wife has returned home I see no reason why I shouldn’t come back here. Let’s go in."

Yang Meiyi watched as Fu Mingze got out of the car and followed him.

Even though she has not been here for two years, nothing in the house has changed. It all looked the same but that’s not why she was here, she came to know the reason why Fu Mingze was getting engaged to another woman.

"Are you hungry?" Fu Mingze asked as he took off his suit jacket.

Yang Meiyi looked at him and said "I came here to talk not to eat."

Fu Mingze sighed and said "Fine. Let’s talk."

"Why are you getting engaged to Ye Qingyi?"

"Grandpa wants me to get engaged to her."

Yang Meiyi scoffed and said "Since when did you become so obedient? Do you perhaps like her?"

"Yes I do like her but only as a friend. And the reason for my sudden obedience to my grandfather is because right now his health is fragile and that old man threatened to go on a food strike if I don’t agree to this engagement."

Yang Meiyi felt sad knowing that it was Grandpa Fu who had been pushing for the engagement. The old man must really hate her and she wasn’t surprised about it. He did tell her not to hurt Fu Mingze and she did just that.

"Will you get married to her as well if he asks?"

"How can I get married to her when I already have a wife?"

"But no one knows that." Yang Meiyi said as tears threatened to fall from her eyes.

Fu Mingze’s heart ached when he looked at her glassy eyes and he found himself saying "Then let’s tell them. Let’s tell everyone that we are married."

Yang Meiyi looked at Fu Mingze in surprise and said "Can we do that?"

"Why not? We no longer have any reason to keep our marriage a secret. I want us to be together openly, for the world to know that we are husband and wife. Meiyi, the only way for me to not get engaged to Ye Qingyi tomorrow, is for us to reveal our marriage. Do you want to?"

Yang Meiyi smiled and said "I want to but only after we have found Ma Xin. I don’t think I deserve the happiness of being called yours In front of the world when I don’t know if my friend is dead or alive."

Fu Mingze smiles and cleans the tears that have escaped from her eyes. He kissed her forehead and said, "We will find her and it will be alive."

Yang Meiyi nodded and suddenly smiled as she said "Since your engagement is tomorrow and we can’t announce our marriage till when Ma Xin is found, I plan on stealing the fiance."

"Really?" Fu Mingze asked in amusement as he held her waist and pulled her closer to him. He was about to bring his lips to hers when he felt his phone vibrating in his pocket.

Fu Mingze let out a sigh and despite his vibrating phone, he still pecked her lips before answering the call.

"We have found out his real identity." Fu Mingze heard Xia Lian voice the moment he answered the call. He looked at Yang Meiyi who was watching him with a curious gaze and asked "Who is he?"

"His real name is Hu Yifan, son of Hu Lihua."

"Hu Lihua?" Fu Mingze asked in disbelief.

Yang Meiyi froze when she heard the name of the man who killed her mother.

"Track him down. We need to know where he is as soon as possible." Fu Mingze said and ended the call.

"You said Hu Lihua. Does that mean he is responsible for Ma Xin’s kidnapping, but how? Isn’t he in prison? Has he been released? You promised me that he was never going to get out." Yang Meiyi said as her breath became uneven.

Fu Mingze held her face and said "Meiyi calm down. You need to breathe. He isn’t out, I promised you that he was never going to get out and he isn’t out."

Yang Meiyi took in a deep breath to calm herself when she heard that he wasn’t out. She looked at Fu Mingze and asked "Then why did you mention his name just now?"

"Because the real identity of Feng Wei is Hu Yifan, the son of Hu Lihua." Fu Mingze said.

Yang Meiyi’s heart sank when she heard his words, does that mean she was the reason for Ma Xin’s disappearance?
