Chapter 96: Can’t Always Pretend.

"What is the meaning of this?" Nie Yujie asked as she showed Gu Zhen an article of him hugging Yang Jia in public.

Gu Zhen frowned when he saw the picture and wondered who would have dared to take his picture and even published it without his permission.

"I will sue the company who published this article."

Nie Yujie looked at him in disbelief and asked "You think that’s the point? You forbade me from loving someone else while you humiliated me with your lover in public. Because of you, all my friends now look at me with sympathy."

"I was just comforting Yang Jia because her father has been arrested, this picture means nothing."

"To you it means nothing but to me and everyone else, it means everything. Do you know who even showed me this, it was my mother. She called me to tell me that even when I got the key to your house, I am still not worthy of your affection. When we kissed, I thought it meant something to you as it did to me but now I see the truth. I’m the only one who has feelings here, I’m the only idiot who is expecting a man whom she invaded to love her."

"What do you mean invaded? You didn’t invade me." Gu Zhen said with a frown.

"I was the one who asked my father to bring a marriage alliance to your family, I was the one who forced you to give me a key to your apartment, it has been me invading your life and your privacy and you have shown me your disgust time and time again. You have shown me that no matter what I do I will be nothing compared to Yang Jia and that’s why I have decided to free you to be with your love and free myself from the constant taunt and sympathy from my friends and family." Nie Yujie said as tears escaped her eyes.

Gu Zhen felt a scratch in his heart when he saw her tears and asked coldly "Are you done?"

"What?"

Gu Zhen walked closer to her as he asked "I asked if you were done?"

Nie Yujie smiled bitterly as she said "Yes, I’m done." She collected her purse and was about to leave when Gu Zhen held her wrist and pulled her back to him as he said "You are right, it’s been you all along. It was you who invaded my home and my life but you are joking if you think you can just leave after invading my heart."

"Gu Zhen." Nie Yujie called out softly.

"That picture means nothing. I know I have been a jerk to you and I have not been the perfect fiance but I have started having this feeling towards you that I can’t even explain and these feelings makes me to think about you at night, it makes me think about that kiss and how badly I want to kiss you again." Gu Zhen said as he looked at her lips and suddenly kissed her.

Nie Yujie was frozen for a moment when she felt his lips on hers, she felt him biting her lips making her gasp and allowing him to plunge his tongue into her mouth and deepen the kiss.

Nie Yujie moaned softly in his mouth as he slammed her back against the wall and raised her dress, caressing her thigh.

Nie Yujie wrapped her legs around him as their passion became intense and the strap of her gown became loose. She didn’t even know how they managed to get to the bedroom, she only felt the softness of the bed before feeling his lips on her.

Every kiss and touch was like a dream come true to Nie Yujie, a dream she felt might be short-lived.

.....

Yang Jia walked into a cafe and immediately sighted the woman who had suddenly texted her about a place to meet. She walked to the woman and sat opposite her saying "I only came here because I want you to retract every word you have said to the police against my father. Whatever a lowly maid like you have to say does not matter."

Qiang Du drank her coffee calmly before looking at Yang Jia and said "You have always been like this Miss Yang. You know, I once worked in the Yang mansion before moving over to the Sangs because your dad wanted me to be his spy. Your dad wanted me to find something against the Sang family so that he could easily divorce Sang Xiu."

Yang Jia scoffed and said, "Wasn’t it because you were sleeping with him and he must have promised you the lady of the house title."

Qiang Du’s calm expression immediately changed to anger at Yang Jia’s words.

Yang Jia smiled when she saw her anger and said "I’m right ain’t I? What is this, an act of revenge? And here I thought you would be satisfied with two million yuan, an amount you have never seen before in your life."

Qiang Du looked at Yang Jia in surprise and asked "So you knew? You knew all this while that your dad killed old master Sang."

"No, my dad did nothing. It was you who killed him, because of your greed to become Yang Jiu’s wife, you gave him that medicine every day so you killed him, Qiang Du. It’s disgusting how you thought for a moment that you would become my stepmother, you who isn’t even worthy of cleaning Sang Xiu’s shoes. If I didn’t accept Sang Xiu, what spell did you intend to cast to make me accept you?"

Qiang Du clenched her cup and said "At least I’m not the one in jail."

"Oh, you will be. For this stunt you pulled over my dad, I will make sure you spend the rest of your life in jail and your lovely nephew will spend his life in social service. Your sister must have been dumb to think an idiot like you could take care of her son. As for your fiance, I heard he comes from a respectable family, I doubt they accept murderers, traitors, and most especially a gold digger to enter their family."

"You can’t threaten me." 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"But it isn’t a threat because I will make you lose everything you think you have, even if it is the last thing I do."

"While I worked at the Yang Mansion, I must say that I was fooled by you. You were so kind and affectionate to everyone and now that I think about it, it was truly only Sang Xiu that saw your true face. She must have known that you Yang Jia are nothing but a monster in disguise and one day everyone will see it because you can’t always pretend."Qiang Du said and walked out of the cafe, leaving Yang Jia to throw the cup of coffee on the floor in anger.
