Transmigration: Step Into The World of Books And Become The Strongest!-Chapter 54: Test (1)
In the center of the throne room, Catrine and Rudolf stood side by side, facing the princes and princesses seated on the left side of the room.
In front of them was a small table, upon which rested a milky white crystal ball.
"Alright, princes and princesses, I’ll explain the test you’re about to take," Catrine said casually, adjusting her glasses. "This test isn’t too difficult. You won’t be doing anything strenuous like hunting or combat. It’s a basic assessment."
She turned her gaze toward the crystal ball and continued, "This is a magic attribute test. Through this crystal, we can determine which magical attributes you possess. So..."
Her eyes returned to the princes and princesses, now sharp and probing, as she asked, "Who wants to go first?"
As soon as the question was asked, the princes and princesses grew nervous, their anxiety evident—especially those between the ages of ten and sixteen.
This test wasn’t intended for anyone older than sixteen, as those individuals had already awakened their magical attributes. Instead, it was designed specifically for those in that younger age range.
After all, that age was considered the most ideal for beginning formal training at the Academy.
"Aron, I’m really nervous," Sharon whispered, her fingers interlaced and her face clouded with anxiety and a hint of panic.
Although Aron had tried to calm her earlier, the unease in her chest still lingered.
It wasn’t because she feared disappointing her family—but because she was afraid of letting down the man standing behind her.
Arthur smiled gently and rubbed her back in a soothing motion.
"Don’t worry, Princess. Trust me—you’ll be the star of this test."
This test was Sharon’s moment to shine. Once she awakened the golden light attribute, all eyes—including Rudolf’s—would be on her.
At the time, Rudolf had been eager to take her in as his student and personally oversee her training.
But Sharon had flatly refused.
The reason? Of course, it was because of Aron.
Becoming Rudolf’s student meant she’d have to spend her days away from Aron—and that was something she couldn’t bear.
Nathan had been furious with her decision and did everything he could to change her mind. But in the end, Sharon stood her ground.
And the most frustrating part? Aron himself. Instead of encouraging her to accept Rudolf’s offer, he stayed silent—completely indifferent, as if it had nothing to do with him.
Honestly, after reading the future plot, Arthur had developed a strong dislike for the real Aron—even now.
Sure, Aron eventually realized his feelings for Sharon, but that happened only in the final arc of the book’s world.
From beginning to middle, he was cold, emotionless, and incredibly irritating.
Still, Arthur had to admit Sharon’s refusal had played a big role in the development of their relationship.
After all, she was the main character of this world.
It was only a matter of time before she rose to power, destined to one day lead the Magic Kingdom of Valdom.
Even so, the frustration still lingered, refusing to fade. That’s why Arthur had made up his mind—this time, he would make sure Sharon trained under Rudolf.
With that, her awakening would come far sooner than in the original story—and he could clear this book world with an S rank.
Imagining the incredible reward of an S-rank completion, Arthur felt a rush of excitement and anticipation.
While he was lost in thought, Catrine frowned, noticing that no one had stepped forward to begin.
"If no one steps forward, I’ll choose someone myself," she said coldly.
Under her sharp gaze, the princes and princesses were gripped by a mix of fear and excitement.
Her eyes finally landed on an eleven-year-old prince seated not far from Clareth.
"You, prince. Step forward," she commanded.
Realizing he had been chosen, the young prince knew there was no point in resisting. He quickly rose from his seat.
"Yes, Miss Catrine," he answered respectfully.
His body was still quite small, which was only natural for an eleven-year-old.
His features were already handsome, though his slightly chubby cheeks gave him an adorably youthful charm.
Short blue hair framed his face, and his bright green eyes sparkled like polished emeralds.
With hesitant, nervous steps, he made his way to Catrine and stopped beside the table. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
"What should I do, Miss Catrine?" he asked, his voice betraying his unease.
But instead of answering right away, Catrine responded with a question of her own. "Before that, may I know your name, Prince?"
The young prince looked a bit surprised, then smiled and said, "My name is Avalton Valura, Miss Catrine."
Catrine gave a small nod before explaining, "Very well, Prince Avalton. All you need to do is place your right hand on this crystal ball. It will immediately reveal your magic attributes."
"Okay!" Avalton nodded eagerly, his nervousness quickly replaced by anticipation.
Meanwhile, on the right side of the place where the concubines were seated, a beautiful woman couldn’t help but smile at the sight of him.
She was the fourth of the king’s five concubines and came from a viscount-level noble family. Her status was noticeably higher than most of the others.
Her gaze softened as she looked at her enthusiastic son.
"I wonder if Avalton will awaken a magic attribute like His Majesty... or perhaps like you, Nura," said one of the concubines beside her, breaking the quiet between them.
Nura kept her gentle smile as she crossed her legs and calmly rested the side of her face on her hand.
"Of course he’ll awaken the light attribute, just like His Majesty," she said confidently.
Not everyone was capable of awakening a magic attribute—even the princes and princesses of the royal family were no exception.
Even if their father was a great mage, if their mother lacked the magic attribute, the chances of their children inheriting it would be slim.
That’s why princes and princesses without magical attributes were often tasked with handling the kingdom’s affairs—like the Second Prince, who didn’t possess any magic at all.
However, as the direct son of the Queen, he enjoyed a great deal of freedom and could do as he pleased.
On the other hand, Nura herself had the wood attribute and was a level two mage.
This made it highly likely that her son, Avalton, would awaken a magic attribute.
Still, the chance of him awakening the light attribute was extremely small.
After all, the light attribute was rare, possessed only by a select few truly fortunate individuals.
Yet, Nura remained confident. She believed in her son completely—Avalton would definitely awaken the light attribute!
Hearing this, the concubine sitting beside her, Regina, simply rolled her eyes in silence.
She knew Nura all too well. Born into a Viscount family, Nura was notoriously arrogant and, frankly, a bit annoying.
It was no surprise that Nura was disliked by many of the other concubines—including Regina herself. But Regina didn’t see the point in arguing. It wasn’t worth the energy.
She was curious as well. Would Nura’s arrogance be justified this time, or would it become the subject of ridicule? If Avalton failed to awaken the light attribute—hehehe—that would certainly be entertaining.
At that moment, Avalton took a deep breath and placed his right hand on the crystal ball.
Suddenly, a faint light began to radiate from within the ball, gradually growing brighter. Catrine’s eyes widened in surprise.
"This..."
