Trapped In A Marriage I Never Wanted-Chapter 78: Traitor
Victoria was deeply disappointed that the results didn’t meet her expectations. She had hoped her husband would cancel the contract by persuading Chris to do whatever he could. However, Matthias’s methods proved ineffective in convincing Chris. Instead, she was forced to continue shooting the commercial as per Chris’s previous instructions.
However, she still didn’t understand the purpose of the vacation together. Did Matthias mean they would suddenly go on vacation together to grow closer?
Her right hand patted her husband’s chest. "At a critical time like this, you still invite me on vacation!"
"I’m not kidding. I couldn’t convince Chris to cancel the contract. But I did manage to get that male model to leave when you wanted to shoot a commercial."
"So, who am I going to shoot with if there are no male models?"
"Me." Matthias blinked his right eye.
"What?!" Victoria immediately covered her mouth with her palm.
"I’m not lying. The offer I made to Chris was that he’d have to replace his male model. I’d be the one shooting with you."
"Then, what about your office work? And what about your reputation as CEO of T&H Group? Aren’t you afraid everyone will criticize you?"
"No. I wouldn’t be afraid of something like this. I’m more afraid of seeing you humiliated so publicly."
"Matthias... why would you go to such lengths just for me? I haven’t given you much during our marriage."
"Because I love doing anything with you. I don’t like seeing you down while I just keep quiet."
Victoria couldn’t bear to abandon her husband, who was too good for her. She let out tears of joy, her arms tightly embracing him. She continued to feel guilty as she appeared increasingly shameless in his eyes. She had been constantly criticizing him, but he had saved her, no matter what.
"Victoria... don’t blame yourself."
"How do you know what I’m thinking right now?"
Matthias smiled sweetly, his right thumb gently stroking his wife’s eyelid. "Because I’ve known you for a long time. Of course, I know what you’re thinking in this situation."
"I..."
"I can’t bear to see you cry for too long. That’s why I want us to go on a date now. Do you mind?"
Victoria shook her head quickly. "No. I want to go on a date with you now. I’m hungry. I love going on dates with you, Matthias."
"Then, I want to take you to eat at the restaurant you’ve always liked."
As Victoria walked out of the studio, affectionately embracing her husband’s hand, Fransisca accidentally witnessed the unexpected scene from a distance while visiting her stepsister. She was so shocked her legs were shaking.
"Wait a minute! My sister remembers everything? Why do she and Matthias seem so affectionate? I tried to persuade her to get back with Matthias earlier to test her reaction, but now she’s openly flaunting their relationship."
Of course, Fransisca didn’t want to just sit there and watch this unexpected scene. She immediately returned to her house to reflect on what she had seen. She continued pacing the living room while waiting for her mother to return.
Seeing her mother had just come home, Fransisca immediately went to her mother who looked tired and her face was oily.
"Mom, I want to ask you something." Fransisca shouted.
The mother rolled her eyes and patted her back. "What do you want to ask? I’m so tired today."
"Mom, is it true that Victoria has amnesia because of the accident?"
"Of course. I’ve seen that myself. Weren’t you also overwhelmed by dealing with your half-sister who didn’t even know you at the time?"
"Yes, but today I really witnessed an unexpected scene that my half sister did."
"What else did your half sister do?"
"Actually, I was going to visit her earlier. But I saw her leaving the studio with Matthias."
"What’s wrong with her going out with Matthias?"
"She openly embraced Matthias’s hand, and I saw her smiling happily, just like before. I even saw her like when they were dating."
"What? So, Victoria remembers everything?"
"I still can’t say for sure whether Victoria has remembered everything or if she just happened to love Matthias again. One thing’s for sure, I won’t let them get married!"
The mother frowned and folded her arms. "Weren’t you very supportive of their relationship before?"
"Mom, am I that stupid? It’s true that I’ve never made Dad proud because I’m stupid. But I can’t bear to see my half sister dare to marry a CEO."

The couple were back on their date at their favorite restaurant. Matthias was relieved to see his wife’s continued smile since their conversation in the studio. It wasn’t in vain that he’d tried everything he could to persuade Chris, even helping him think up the script for their commercial.
"Matthias, actually the reason you wanted to shoot the commercial with me wasn’t because you wanted to get rid of that male model, right?"
"That’s the first reason. The second reason is that I want to go on vacation with you."
Victoria laughed awkwardly as she wiped the oily corners of her lips. "You don’t think we’re on a honeymoon, not a vacation!"
"I would consider us honeymooners if you didn’t consider me as a friend or a contract husband."
"You’re such a sly one!" She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "Thank you, Matthias. You’ve helped me solve my problem once again, and I feel like I’ve been a pain in the ass."
"That’s why I want you to go on vacation with me. I’m already satisfied. Especially if we’re on the beach."
"But, will your mom be mad at you for shooting a commercial? You’re not a model, but you’re a perfectionist CEO."
"My mother won’t be angry because I’m human too. Besides, she’s already approved of our relationship. Why should we be afraid of her anymore?"
"Matthias, are you sure your mother really approves of our relationship?"
"I’m sure. She told me that at the time."
"But, somehow I have a bad feeling."
