Trapped In A Marriage I Never Wanted-Chapter 79: Vacation
A week later...
Preparations for the commercial shoot abroad are well underway. Victoria and Matthias have already discussed the script with Chris and his team. Fortunately, they were given the opportunity to modify the script to their liking. Now, they’re studying the script and preparing for the extensive overseas trip.
They had been on the plane for hours, and Victoria was starting to get bored, even though Chris had booked them first class. Victoria wasn’t used to being unable to do much on a plane. All she could do was stare at her husband’s handsome face, which was enough to make her happy right now.
"Victoria, are you bored?"
Her eyes widened when her husband’s guess was spot-on. "It seems you have a special ability to read my mind."
"Because I’m the only one who can read your mind since forever." Matthias fed his wife a piece of melon.
Victoria wrapped her arms around her husband’s neck. "I really love going on vacation with you."
"Really? Don’t you still hate me now?"
"I mean, I won’t get bored just looking at your handsome face on the plane."
"Actually, I’m still not used to seeing you like this." His cheeks flushed red as he stared at his wife’s sweet face close to his.
"Matthias, did you book a resort just for us? Don’t you want to sleep in a hotel?"
"Of course. I want to enjoy this special holiday with you alone. I don’t want anyone disturbing us."
"Including Chris?"
"Yes, he wanted to come with us before. But I forbade him because I didn’t want him to bother us. Besides, he must be busy working." Seeing his wife’s eyes starting to struggle to keep open, Matthias took the initiative to let her rest her head on his shoulder. "You go to sleep first. I’ll wake you up after we land."
"What if I don’t want to sleep?"
"What else do you want to do? Aren’t you bored?"
"It’s more boring if I sleep, but you can only watch me sleep."
"It’s okay. If I’m sleepy, I’ll enter your dream world."
After a long plane ride, they finally arrived in a city renowned for its breathtaking views of the blue sea. However, because they arrived at night, they weren’t able to enjoy the blue sea views on their first day of exploring the country.
Victoria was grateful that her husband had the foresight to book a resort just for them. Furthermore, the resort was quite spacious and had two bedrooms, so they didn’t have to share a bed, even though they did occasionally end up sleeping in the same bed due to late-night exercise.
She already considered the resort her home, except it wasn’t as spacious as her home. However, this resort did have a swimming pool. Her eyes lit up at the resort’s beauty, adorned with various ornamental plants displayed in every corner.
"Do you like this resort?"
Victoria nodded. "Of course I really like it. You’re really good at this."
"You should get some rest first. You sleep in the main bedroom, while I sleep in the smaller bedroom."
"Why do I have to sleep in the main bedroom? You’re higher up than me!"
"Does a company position dictate which room we should sleep in?" Matthias lifted his wife’s chin with an intense gaze. "If you want to argue with me over the bedroom, I’d like to invite you to sleep with me."
Victoria quickly pushed her husband’s hand away. "Okay, I’ll sleep in the main bedroom instead of sleeping with you."
Matthias furrowed his brows. "Speaking of which, why are you still so touchy-feely with me even though we’ve already slept in the same bed?"
"Because it’s according to the contract. We’re not supposed to sleep together, whether outside or inside the house!"
"But, you yourself often attack me suddenly."
Victoria rolled her eyes and put her hands on her hips. "Let’s see! Who actually dares to attack first? I’ll bet on it."
Victoria was actually nervous when her husband asked her to bet. She was the one who always lost control whenever they did it. If she didn’t like it, she could have refused. However, she never refused her husband.
She kept slapping her cheeks before bed. She was still unaccustomed to sleeping outside, even though the bed was soft. She turned around to vent her nervousness from the plane ride. After hours of being unable to do anything, all she could do was stare at her husband’s handsome face whenever she felt bored.
"Matthias, why is it that as time goes by, it becomes harder for me to hate you? Why do your sweet tricks always make me like you?"
After contemplating for a long time in her room, she finally fell asleep. She was currently in a dream world. However, she felt a familiar feeling. She walked slowly through a garden decorated with various twinkling ornaments and finally stopped when she came face to face with a man kneeling before her. She slowly approached the man, whose face was still vague, but whose posture was strikingly similar to Matthias’s.
"Victoria, marry me!" Slowly the man’s face became clearer, revealing that the man was Matthias.
Victoria suddenly woke up from her strange dream, her face covered in sweat. She immediately ran out of the room and headed to the dining room for a glass of water. She took a quick sip, clutching her chest, feeling a little tight. For some reason, she wanted to cry at the thought of Matthias proposing to her. She immediately stared at her ring, still on her necklace.
"Matthias, is this ring actually from you?"
Once she calmed down, she immediately went back into her room and lay down on the bed. Due to the darkness, she still hadn’t realized that the room she was in wasn’t hers, but her husband’s. She didn’t care if she’d entered the wrong room or not; the important thing was that she could now sleep soundly.
While Matthias was still sleeping soundly, without realizing it, his two hands were wrapped around his wife’s waist from behind.
