Chapter 86: Chapter 86: Annoying Woman

Matthias seemed more rigid when confronted by his friend, who was starting to act aggressively towards him. He was worried that his wife would become angry again upon witnessing this unexpected scene, even though he hadn’t intended to openly embrace his friend. He felt like turning his head to look at his wife, but Amber kept her head held back, so all he could do now was keep a straight face.

"Matthias, I miss you so much even though you were gone for less than a week."

Matthias slowly released his friend’s embrace. "What are you doing now?"

"Me? Of course I’m picking you up right now."

"How did you know my schedule? Who told you?"

Amber smiled coquettishly, slowly groping her friend’s chest while gazing at her enemy’s gloomy figure from afar. "Of course, I found out from an acquaintance who works at an airline company."

"Amber, can you please keep your cool now? Did my mother tell you to act like this?" 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"Speaking of your mother, how about we go home now? It seems like she missed you a lot while you were gone."

Matthias rolled his eyes and glanced at his wife. He felt guilty for breaking his promise again and making her angry. Just yesterday, she expressed her true feelings.

Meanwhile, Victoria, unwilling to be outdone by her husband, asked Ansel to pick her up at the airport. Her body immediately felt hot as she stared at Amber, who was flirting excessively with Matthias, but Matthias couldn’t do anything about it.

With Matthias and Amber nowhere to be seen at the airport, Victoria vented her anger by grumbling while sitting on an empty bench. However, as she waited for Ansel to pick her up, she felt as if someone was watching her from behind. When she turned her head, strangely, no one seemed suspicious.

A few minutes later, Ansel finally appeared, running over to her. Victoria greeted her ex-fiancé with a faint smile as she handed him her suitcase.

"Victoria, why are you here alone? Where is your husband?"

Of course, Victoria didn’t want to tell Ansel the truth. If she did, it would lead to a huge argument between Matthias and Ansel. Therefore, she chose to keep her mouth shut about the personal issues she was currently facing.

"Did you forget that Matthias and I kept our relationship a secret? That’s why I had to ask you to pick me up."

"But, he still shouldn’t have left you here alone! He’s such an irresponsible man!"

"Don’t scold him. Matthias is not a bad person."

Ansel’s brow furrowed. "Since when do you openly defend him over me?" His hand touched his ex-fiancé’s arm. "What exactly did you two do while you were away on vacation?"

"I’ll tell you on the way."

On the way to her residence, Victoria talked about her activities with Matthias while in Guam. However, she didn’t mention that she had already confessed her feelings for him, which would have instantly hurt Ansel. She herself was hurt by the thought of Matthias acting affectionately with another woman after their recent sweet time in Guam.

"So, that’s why you suddenly went to Guam with your husband," Ansel said while driving his sedan.

"Sorry, I should have told you this so you wouldn’t be shocked."

"It’s okay. I was actually planning to visit you a few days ago, but I heard from Louis that you were on vacation."

"But I want to clear up any misunderstandings. Matthias and I aren’t really fighting. We just have to behave ourselves while we’re in this city. I want you to not scold him."

"If I were you, I’d definitely do the same thing. Don’t worry, I won’t misunderstand. Matthias was my friend too."

"Ansel, if you’re upset about me getting closer to Matthias lately, you can talk to me about it. Don’t keep it to yourself."

"Actually, I have no right to scold you because I can’t let you hate your own first love."

"Matthias... is my first love?"

Ansel smiled faintly as he held his ex-fiancée’s left hand. "I can see the way you’ve been looking at Matthias all this time. Of course, only I know what’s on your mind."

"Are you serious about what you said? Are you really not angry and want to beat up Matthias?"

"I’ll beat Matthias if he really hurts you. I won’t forgive him."

"Do you think Matthias will love me forever? Is it possible he’ll change his mind if circumstances force him to marry another woman?"

"It all depends on Matthias’ true feelings. If you’d like to ask my opinion on him, perhaps I can help you give an overview of his personality."

"Can you describe it to me?"

"I’ve never actually seen him fall in love with a woman to this extent. I even thought he was gay. It turns out I was wrong. Once he finds the woman he truly loves, he’ll protect her for the rest of his life. He’s not the type of man to easily betray his woman just because another woman flirts with him."

"But, what if Amber keeps chasing Matthias relentlessly?"

"I’m sure Matthias will still refuse, and Matthias wouldn’t hesitate to break off their friendship rather than have your relationship destroyed by that woman’s greed."

On the other hand, Matthias felt like he’d been kidnapped by a criminal. In all his good friendship with Amber, this was the first time he’d felt such cruelty towards her. He’d seen it clearly at the airport. Amber had deliberately approached him to anger Victoria. Of course, she wouldn’t forgive Amber’s increasingly outrageous behavior.

"Amber, can you just drop me off in the middle of the road?"

"What’s wrong? I went to the trouble of picking you up at the airport."

Matthias rolled his eyes and looked away. "Honestly, I don’t feel comfortable being picked up by you. I can go home with Sawyer. I already asked him to pick me up."

"No. I won’t let you go home with him."

"Don’t I have the right to go home with him?"

"Is Sawyer your boyfriend?"

"Are you really my lover?"
