Chapter 87: Chapter 87: Will We Fight Again?

Finally, for the first time, Matthias mustered the courage to yell at his best friend face to face. Although he had already yelled at his friend over the phone, he still wasn’t satisfied. After witnessing Amber’s outrageous behavior in person, he finally began to realize there was an ulterior motive behind Amber’s sweet demeanor. Every time Amber acted sweet to him when he was with his wife, their relationship would inevitably be strained. Matthias could already tell his wife was crying alone in their house.

"Matthias, why are you talking like that? What did I do to you that made you so angry?"

"The main mistake you made with me was that you were so selfish."

Amber furrowed her eyebrows. "What?"

"I’ve misjudged you all this time. I thought you were the friendliest woman I’d met since we became friends in America. But beneath that friendly exterior, you’ve always been selfish when I wanted to do things my own way."

"I’ve never been selfish to you." Amber patted his chest with a little force. "I’ve done so much to make you happy. Why don’t you ever appreciate all my hard work?"

"I can only appreciate your hard work as my friend, not as my lover. Now I want to go home with Sawyer so we can talk to him at the bar, but you’re in the way! Sawyer needs someone to talk to because he’s having problems!"

"Matthias, I’m sorry. I don’t know if you want to meet up with Sawyer."

Matthias looked away, gripping the doorknob. "Let me down now. I don’t want to go home with you!"

"I don’t want to let you go. Please, Matthias, stay with me."

"If you act selfish again, I will never consider you as a friend! You have to think about this carefully. This is my warning as your friend."

Amber could only sigh in resignation, crossing her legs haughtily. "Lena, stop at the side of the road. Let Matthias go home with his friend."

Finally, Lena, Amber’s assistant, stopped the red sedan on the side of the road. Matthias immediately got out, carrying his bag and suitcase. He turned around and glanced at the luxury watch on his left wrist.

"Matthias, are you okay waiting for Sawyer alone here?"

"No problem. He’ll be here soon. You better go now."

"But-"

"You’re just my friend. You have no right to worry about me too much."

Amber reluctantly complied with her friend’s wishes rather than risk further ruining their friendship. She ordered Lena to continue her journey home.

Moments later, Sawyer actually picked up Matthias, who had been abandoned on the side of the road. Sawyer immediately led his friend into his sedan and drove at a normal speed. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

Sawyer actually wanted to get angry at Matthias for always being so lenient with Amber. However, seeing Matthias’s angry and gloomy expression made him change his mind. He tried to find a way to prevent his friend from getting even more offended by his ranting.

"What actually happened between you and Amber?"

"Amber is getting more and more outrageous now. She deliberately approached me at the airport while I was with Victoria."

"But, did Victoria openly walk with you?"

"No. She herself suggested we go our separate ways so that no one would suspect our relationship."

"Then, you’re afraid Victoria will misunderstand you as if you want to be kissed by Amber."

Matthias exhaled sharply as he stared out the window. "We’ve been enjoying our vacation so much these past few days. But because of Amber, my wife is going to hate me again."

"That’s why from the start I advised you to keep your distance from Amber."

"Yeah, I’m sorry I didn’t listen to your advice. Even Amber can still contact me when I’m on vacation."

"She’s really being too rude! Her increasingly obsessive attitude will only put you in danger."

Matthias rested his chin on his hand. "Speaking of which, how did she know my schedule? I didn’t even tell her."

"If a woman is obsessed with you, she will definitely not let you go easily."

"It’s different from Victoria who often curses me and hates me."

"If Victoria hates you again, should I ask Jennifer to help her with some counseling? I really hope your relationship improves after your vacation."

"I hope so too. Plus, Victoria is so sweet whenever she does things with me. I miss all the moments I spent with her while we were on vacation."

Sawyer patted his friend on the shoulder. "I hope you and she won’t have a fight later."

Matthias stared at some photos of himself and his wife while in Guam for a moment. "Sawyer, I’m sorry I’m going to inconvenience you in the future. I need you to get someone to keep an eye on Amber."

"Of course, that task isn’t a hassle for me. But why are you doing this all of a sudden?"

"I don’t know why I’ve been feeling increasingly uncomfortable around Amber lately. I just don’t want her to upset my wife again."

In their luxurious residence, Victoria sat pensive on the living room sofa. Her mind was still troubled by the unseemly scene she witnessed. She worried that her husband would be easily seduced by the snake woman. Moreover, the snake woman always pretended to be kind and sweet. She was disgusted by the sight of her and wanted to tell her husband directly that Amber was not a good woman. If Amber were a good woman, then all this time, every problem that arose would definitely not have gotten involved.

Since the airport incident, they haven’t communicated. Victoria has begun to grow weary of her husband’s hours-long absence. Previously, she didn’t mind his long trips. Now, she dislikes him being away for too long.

"Matthias..."

Hearing her husband’s footsteps enter the living room, Victoria immediately got up from the sofa and greeted him with a beaming smile. She tried to forget what she saw at the airport.

She immediately ran to her husband and hugged him tightly.

"Where have you been, Matty?"
