Triple X System-Chapter 163: Labyrinth of reflection (2)
Labyrinth of reflection, so that’s what at the other side of the portal. He never thought they would reach the next trial this quickly. According to the map, they were sub locations in sandhill castle meant to pass through.
And having already passed the hall of deceit, now in the labyrinth of reflection. Remaining one, the undead emperor lair.
What are are you and where’s kimi? He sternly asked earning a light giggle from the cloaked figure.
For someone with such distinct aura, I never thought you’d be this slow. She softly replied pulling her veil back revealing none other than kimi.
Nice try mimic, but you’re not kimi. He sarcastically pouted leaving kimi in a confused state.
Idiot, am not a mimic. You’ve fought and defeated the last mimic with your parents help at the hall of deceit. Right? She softly uttered, her lips curved upwards in a sly grin.
She knows.. that must mean she’s been watching us the entire time. Kyle reasoned. He didn’t know what connection this three locations had but one thing was certain. The things living down here we’re of mystery and unknown power. One which he didn’t want to meddle with.
But why didn’t I sense her? He’d sensed the ants aura and even the mimic but but had failed to sense this strange figure. Which was weird because snow didn’t detect a concealment skill being used. Which could only mean..
[She has no aura.] Snow butted in her voice a testament of stark contrast to how bewildered Kyle was.
How is this even possible. Kyle wondered in awe, shocked to the core. Every living being had an aura, including animals and plants. Yes there were concealment skills to hide one’s aura, along with potions and so on. But never for once had a person been able to completely block their aura.
Hmhmm.. let me guess, you’re wondering how you can’t detect any aura from me. She playfully chuckled appearing besides Kyle. On instinct his body reacted, leaping away from her.
I shouldn’t engage with her yet, I’m still unsure what she is. During his previous battles with higher beings he learned some things. One of which was never to underestimate your opponents.
Ahhn~ i-i just wanted a kiss. Don’t you want to give your favourite aunt a kiss? She seductively smiled with alluring eyes.
I know you’ve done much worse than kissing. Her lips slightly pushed forward kissing the air.
Tokyo, there’s no way she could’ve known about that. Right?
[While Lilith might be the second strongest demon she isn’t the strongest or most powerful. There is a possibility Lucifer might’ve found a way to disrupt her senses or his contacts.]
Contacts? You mean Lucifer called in other beings apart from demons? Kyle inwardly asked his eyes slightly twitching.
He hadn’t faced the lowest ranked demon according to Lilith’s power scale. But his experience with the necrolites spelled imminent death in his current state.
Which was why he was on this journey of redemption to evolve and reunite all his mistakes.
[Of course. You didn’t think the demon king only had demons for henchmen.] Snow sarcastically spoke making Kyle frown more.
Come on nephew, give your aunt some of that magical seed. She begged, placing her hands together with puppy eyes.
I don’t have time for your antics, show me the way outta here and I’ll be on my way. He angrily lashed out, having wasted enough time trapped here.
Staring at him the subtle smile on her lips faded, replaced by a more serene darker one.
I see you insignificant lifeforms haven’t changed, very well then.. if you wish to leave you must pass through the labyrinth of reflection. She declared pointing towards the entrance to the labyrinth.
Ha.. why does it always have to result in conflict. He sighed, shaking his head a bit.
Knowing your opponent aura was more powerful was bad enough, but not sensing it was as worse as it gets. But he wasn’t one to shy away from a fight.
Bam! The ground cracked to the sheer power of his torn boots. Shooting out he wasn’t equipped with the katana, but it didn’t matter. His demon energy was at 45 percent and his stamina restored thanks to stamina regeneration.
Tsk! Why do insignificant minds always dream of the impossible. Letting out a sigh she casually waved her hand. Sending out a large gust of wind, pushing Kyle back.
That’s all? Mhm, I expected more. He scoffed in disappointment, charging out once more.
You haven’t learnt, I see you species are still as hot-blooded as ever. Fine, have it your way. Waving her hand once more, but in a fierce motion. A gust of wind blasting out with speed, not too huge like the first but big enough to deal serious damage.
Not stopping he stomped his foot shooting upwards, evading the wind which crashed to a wall. Blowing some parts off with ease.
This wind, it’s not normal. Kyle muttered, picking up a boulder tossing it forward and following behind. Which was easily destroyed by the wind, giving him just enough time to pass through the small window.
This technique are so familiar. He could tell this figure wasn’t using a skill but an ability. Now the problem was he couldn’t tell if it was her’s, and neither could snow. But the gesture in which she moved, reminded him of someone he’d recently faced.
I need to get closer to throw a dark ball. He thought not having a wide range of skills and demon energy. Best conserving them to strike a lethal blow when close enough.
I can’t reach her in this pace. He frowned being halted by the huge wind slashes everyone he attempted to make a move. The land he was in wasn’t anything like back in the desert. Having a more solid barren field lie it was made from a cold type of steel. In front were a few tall rocks stationed in a distorted pattern just before the entrance to the labyrinth.
At his back was a cliff with an endless bottom into darkness. The distance separating them was considerably wide by a margin. Which was weird, considering they were just a few meters apart initially.
[Kyle, this is just an intuition but I think she has access to more than two abilities.] Snow theorized, her voice contained a hint of wariness.
Great, just when my luck couldn’t get worse. He cursed, haven’t squared off with dual ability user’s except troy. Which he’d prefer never to have an encounter with again. But now, there was a possibility he was facing an ability user with three or more abilities?
Stop running and fight coward! Imposter kimi yelled, vertically slashing both her hands. Releasing two small condensed slashes of wind, moving in a straight line.
Mhm! He grunted feeling his body sucked forward towards the two wind slashes. Gritting his teeth he dug his nails into a nearby wall, placing his body against it. The two wind slashes still heading forward, drawing everything in it’s path.
I can’t stay here. He muttered, knowing this rock won’t stand a chance against this force of nature. Thinking, an idea soon formed in his head. Along with the name of a familiar skill.
You’re cornered, just give up. A wicked grin spread across her face, seeing Kyle trapped.
You’re right, I give up. Kyle’s voice cut through the air, making her eyes go wide. She’d just taunted him, but never believed he would actually surrender.
Stepping out he was immediately dragged into the vacuum wind slashes. Maintaining a calm look which was unsettling, seeing he was about to die.
If I die, am taking you with me! He roared, telepathically activating a skill.
[Shadow walk activated!]
The system notification flashed before his eyes.
Impossible.. She stuttered seeing Kyle’s body enveloped in dark shadows. Effortlessly passing through the grinding wind slashes, without a scratch.
How does he have the shadow ability? She wondered, shock evident in her eyes.
[Death’s call activated]
Seizing the opportunity he activated death’s call. The familiar dark spiked ball materializing in his left palm. Pushing his legs forward he exerted his stamina. Finally feeling the side effects of constantly using stamina regeneration.
Clenching his fist he pushed through the pain and fatigue closing the gap between him and the imposter.
Regaining herself she released two wind slashes, hitting Kyle dead on in the chest.
[-10hp]
Blood spurted out from his mouth but he didn’t care. Killing this strange being was a fuel driving him to forge on.
How can he still walk? Her expression faltered seeing Kyle’s unyielding resilience. Charging on amidst the barrage of wind slashes unleashed upon him.
Time.. to.. end.. this. Reaching 2 meters from the mimic he attempted to shoot the ball. But imposter kimi was faster slashing his arm clean off with a direct air slash.
Die! He screamed with cracked eyes stomping on the dark ball.
Boom! A small bang went off with the emersion of the black tendrils. Moving with life swiftly wrapping the imposter’s arm together. More clutching at her legs spreading upwards throughout her entire body.
Mhmhmm.. she suddenly broke out in laughter making the grin on Kyle’s face die out.
Does your death amuses you? He mocked.
No. Your efforts does. She smiled sending a chilling sensation running along his spine.
Loop. She uttered a strong blast bursting out from her.
