Triple X System-Chapter 164: Visions of the past
W-what happened? Kyle stuttered sitting up. Looking he could see he was in a different location. With an entirely new landscape than where he came.
Welcome to the labyrinth of reflection. A voice pulled him from his thoughts.
K-kimi? His eyes widened a bit seeing kimi in front. Not only had she changed attire now in a blue robe with a hood covering her head. But everything about her.. from her attitude, her aura even the colour of her eyes were now a shade of blue.
Why does this seem familiar, like I’ve seen this before? He pondered having a familiar encounter of this place from before.
Kyle, you’re alright. I was worried sick about you when the fire spread, but thankfully you’re alright. Kimi said with teary eyes, rushing over to where he sat.
Fire? What happened? His expression contorted into a frown not understanding any of what kimi meant.
Well.. there was a fire outbreak at the hospital, so everyone had to evacuate. I ran as fast as I could to get you but there was something else in the room. She paused clenching her fist tightly, recalling the past. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Then everything went dark and we woke up here. She finished, embracing him in a tight hug.
Fire, hospital? Why can’t I remember.
His memory was still clouded and everytime he tried to recall a stinging pain assaulted his head. Causing him to groan in agony.
Don’t force it, you’re probably having a concussion. It’ll come back later. She shrugged which sounded more weird to Kyle.
How is she this calm? Knowing his aunt she was strong and independent but not so calm. Especially during situations as such.
Something’s not right. Be it an intuition or a gut feeling his instincts had a sixth sense for danger. And it was on a high alert right now.
Getting up with the help of kimi, his sight lingered upon the breathtaking maze in front. As not only was it constructed from a strank dark material, it was also sophisticatedly built than regular mazes.
There’s no way through except in there? They were on a high cliff with no escape route whatsoever except through the labyrinth.
Again this feel oddly familiar. He thought staring down at the bottomless end. Everything about this place giving off an undeniably haunting scene he’d lived.
Unfortunately yes, we have to go through it. Kimi calmly spoke making kyle slightly frown.
There isn’t a shroud of fear, it’s like she’s a complete different person. Normally a person would react differently being transported to a different environment.
But somehow, his aunt maintained a calm expression. Like she was prepared for this situation .
Am probably overthinking it. Shaking his head he dismissed the thought for now. Though the grappling fear in his mind said otherwise.
Left with no choice they advanced forward, reaching the entrance of the labyrinth. In front was a very tall gate, which was wide open. Constructed from the strange black rock used for the labyrinth.
With two nicely crafted stones, stationed at opposite side. Inscriptions of foreign language and symbols of crows all over them.
"The labyrinth of reflection is a gateway passage to the past, present and future. It contains hidden treasures and vital secrets, but beware. Those who step through these gates and aren’t deemed worthy will forever remain in the labyrinth. Relieving this exact moment in an eternal loop, till the end of time. He read out loud leaving a shocked kimi with her mouth wide open.
You can read alien!? How?
I-i’m not sure, the words just seemed familiar to me. He honestly replied a bit confused.
Well that just makes you hotter. She teased tugging onto Kyle’s right arm. Intentionally pushing her melons forward, earning a weird chuckle from him.
Taking a deep breath they stepped over the line, walking into the labyrinth. The blue glowing stones on it’s walls, illuminating the passage.
Mana stones. He softly muttered earning a side glance from kimi.
How do I know all this? At first it seemed like superstitions but now it felt more like a buried memory.
A gateway passage to the past, present and future with hidden treasures and vital secrets. He could tell there was a deeper meaning to those words but he wasn’t keen on it. Not having a liking to mysteries and the unknown.
Instead a mix of excitement and anticipation rushed throughout his nerves. Knowing he’d see his past, present and future. Though the writing wasn’t precise how much into the three stages he’d see. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity he won’t pass.
Along with the addition of hidden treasures and vital secrets made it a more tempting offer hard to resist.
Those who aren’t deemed worthy will remain in a time loop till the end of time. The sheer thought of that sent a chilling sensation down his spine. Yes the opportunity of seeing your past, present and future with treasures and vital secrets was fascinating. But getting stuck in here in a time loop till the end of time was even more terrifying. Reminding him of the harsh reality they were stepping into uncharted territory.
Walking forward they were faced with their first dead end. A narrow passage by the left route which they took. Presented with a crossroads, leading to the left and right path.
I think we should go left. Kimi uttered staring left.
Wanting to decline he didn’t simply nodding in agreement. Having little to no knowledge about this place.
Reaching the end of the left path there was a route leading right. Carefully trailing it navigating their way through the labyrinth. The air becoming much chillier the deeper they went.
It’s so cold. Kimi’s body shuddered against the terrifying cold. Clinging more to Kyle’s skin for warmth.
Glancing at her he couldn’t quite place his finger on it but nothing about this seemed right.
According to kimi she’d come to get him in the hospital when the fire broke out. Which meant he was hospitalized for sustaining an injury he didn’t remember. Then she mentioned another prescence in the room with him. And from her words it was darker like a creature of some sort.
He didn’t know why but he found Kimi’s story hard to believe. His consciousness telling him otherwise.
If I was hospitalized then where was mom and dad? Why weren’t they with me? He abruptly asked making kimi stop in her tracks. Her head lowered down a bit.
What? What’s wrong?
I know this might be hard for you Kyle but they died a long time ago in a car crash. When you were just six, you’ve been with me ever since. Listening to her made no sense as he vividly recalled the image of two figures. A man and woman in their late 30’s which were his parents.
So hearing kimi said they’d died in a car crash when he was six conflicted him the more he thought about it.
Hey.. I know it’s hard but am here for you. You can always count on me. She smiled tightly clutching his hand. Not responding he simply nodded continuing walking forward.
Is it just me or haven’t we been here before? He said recognizing a boulder exactly like the one they’d passed a while back.
You’re probably overthinking it, we should be inching towards the end.
How can she be so optimistic about this. Kyle frowned seeing his aunt was acting very unusual.
Taking the same route he suspected they passed through the same path they’d been through about 5 times now.
Shit. We’re stuck here. His face went pale realizing the inscriptions were correct.
No it can’t be. Kimi frowned in denial. She couldn’t deny Kyle was right as she also noticed the same items present here.
We’ve been going around in a circle. That must mean we aren’t deemed worthy? Thinking it was plausible the were in some kind of dead end in the labyrinth. Which usually required heading back and retracing their steps.
But the problem was everything in here looked so identical to the previous. So heading back without a clear knowledge of their current position would jeopardize their movement.
Wait up Kyle! It was a soft whisper carried by the wind. Looking he couldn’t see anyone present here but it didn’t change the fact they weren’t alone.
Did you hear that?
Hear what? There’s no one here. She said waving it off as nothing.
Yeah you’re right.. moving on he heard the voice again. This time more audible than the first. Getting more louder and familiar as they walked.
Look, the concussion might probably cause you to hear voices. Maybe we should just-
There. He pointed seeing a shadow dash across. Tailing behind he pursued the figure following it to an entirely different location in the labyrinth.
It looks just like home. There in front was a vivid image of a place he called home. With the exact portraits and furnitures stationed how he recalled them.
Hey that’s mine. The same voice pulled him from his sightseeing. Looking he was left speechless staring at a hot dark haired milf which seemed so familiar.
L-lilith? He stuttered clutching his head struck my an overwhelming pain. With images of his past assaulting his head.
