Triple X System-Chapter 174: Into the hole
Since it’s a clone made from sand it can’t die from splitting itself. So, its planning on keeping me occupied. Gripping the hilt of the katana a sly grin formed on his face.
Come on then. A wicked look flashed across his eyes unleashing his aura. A shade of mystical black and red fog slowly seeping from him surrounding the area.
And for a brief moment time seemed to have paused, everyone attention pulled back to the source of this dominant force. Disbelief flickered in the dull lifeless eyes of the sand dog which soon disappeared the next instant.
Like a command they lunged forward, each picking out their prey. Though kyle and the others were outnumbered it didn’t matter. Their strength was a force to reckon with for a slight advantage in numbers.
Calmly moving forward kyle wasn’t in a haste. From what he’d learned facing adversaries with ungauged strength was tricky and could turn bad if not properly handled. The best option being to first stay on the defensive and look for your foe’s weak spot while mapping out its battle strategy.
Grll. The upper part of the sand dog leapt a bit up going for his upper half while the lower part did the same.
Easy. He frowned effortlessly leaping to the side avoiding the sand dog’s measly attack. Just as his feet was about touching the ground a mouth formed below.
Gritting his teeth, he pierced the katana downwards into the wide-open mouth. Causing the beast to squeal in pain emerging the from the sand.
Another one. He couldn’t sense the aura from it which made him unaware of its presence. But now it was fully risen he could vividly sense its aura.
That was close, too close. For some reason he’d felt these 5 sand dogs were all but he was wrong. And had closely fallen victim to letting his guard down.
Mom, dad watch out for movements in the sand! He warned to which they both nodded squaring off with a sand dog each.
Xia was quick matching with the sculptured animal speed deflecting its charge attack with her black spiked goo arm. Grabbing the dog by the neck and slamming it hard to the ground.
Lifting her spiked arm up she was just about impaling it but stopped seeing it had completely vanished.
Her brows furrowed realizing the sand dog didn’t possess not one but more skills. Having used only charge attack she deemed it was bound to one skill but technically she was wrong.
In the heated deserts of nothing but sand and terrifying heat the vibrations of the sand could be felt by xia behind her. Not one but two of the annoying pests springing forth like cobras striking their prey.
Swoosh! A figure cut through the air like a blur with colliding with the sand dogs sending them flying backwards.
Master. The mimic chanted going on a knee bowing his head down. Looking xia could tell the sand dogs were still alive though their bodies separated. But unlike the intentional rapid regeneration which occurred next only low growls of pain escaped their mouths.
Good boy. Xia smiled patting the mimics head earning soft purrs from him. But she wasn’t chanced with the opportunity to relax as more vibrations surged beneath her.
On instinct she and the mimic took a big step backwards, right before the ground where they once stood caved in like an old mine. Leaving a deep hole tunneling downwards to the depths of the earth.
Growl! The hole birthed several sand dogs with a more brownish skin color than the previous golden.
Too, many. Ron took stance besides his wife having dealt with the sand dog by spiking it with a materialized black spear. Created from none other than the strange black goo, placed just few meters from the ground. Preventing the creature from escaping or grouping back with the sand.
In the blink of an eye about a dozen sand dogs had sprouted from the ground. Their brown hardened structure on display giving off a unique blend of physical attribute.
We don’t have time for this. Kyle frowned slashing a sand dog into two. But it didn’t matter how much he slashed, because the creature wasn’t alive. Hence making it hard to kill.
Hed tried slashing them into bits which backfired leading to the multiplication in numbers. With some several limbs still attacking him.
Seems like the katanas ice perk isn’t effective against it. He’d hoped the ice perk from his ice dragon katana would freeze the sand dogs. Which brought the conclusion of slashing them to bits, to hasten the process.
But unfortunately, despite being a legendary tier rank item it failed to live up to his expectations.
That hole, where does it lead to? He thought glancing at the big hole. He couldn’t tell how deep it was but taking a wild guess it was no shorter than at least 12 feet.
[the hole depth is unpredictable to determine stretching downwards. It could probably be 20-3o or more feats below.] snow relayed in kyle head scanning it.
So, you’re saying its infinite? Tilting his head, he dodged a flying sand dogs head. Maneuvering his steps to block the incoming attacks of flying limbs directed at him.
My lungs are spent. His voice was hoarse and ragged from the constant strain on it. Even his breathing was slow and shallow making weird whistling sounds.
[its not infinite. Remember how I said beings who’ve shaped mana into a pure state tends to create stuff?]
Yes. Just like the labyrinth and the mimic.
[exactly.. it’s the same case with this individual. That hole is definitely a generated path constructed from her mana. Which means such person is underground.]
Of course.. his eyes widened to the realization he’d been missing. Why didn’t I think of this before.
It was suspicious how this little oasis laid here in the middle of the desert and even more suspicious there was no one her. No beast nothing, even though there were clear traces of an aura present her. With the emersion of the sand dogs, it further solidified his thoughts someone or something was present her. As the aura had grown incredible prior to its previous faint state.
Decapitating a sand dog head he didn’t bother batting with the rest having known the location of the person controlling this space.
We just have to follow the hole. He thought pushing his legs against the merciless heat opposing his body.
Mom, dad! Ignore the sand dogs follow the hole! He yelled not stopping severing the heads of each and every sand dog along his path.
Staring at him they bore a confused look on their faces not hearing a word he spilled. Considering the distance between them was still far.
Hole.. the quiet entity known as the mimic pointed towards the gaping hole. Nodding they didn’t question further submerging down the hole.
Am close. Nearly reaching the hole his path was obstructed by more sand dogs rising from the sand.
Dammit.. his veins bulged around his forehead. Anger written all over his face with a surge of malicious intent pushing him.
Stop stalling! He yelled not bulldozing his way through the crowd of sand dogs. Suffering some few cuts which soon healed.
My healing is slow because of the tremendous wears it’s sustained. He could feel it his body slowly regenerating at a slower pace than before. As a demon he possessed the ability to regenerate, grow back lost limbs and even obtain two hearts.
It was a gold opportunity disguised as both a blessing and curse. Though he wasn’t invulnerable, having drawbacks as well as conditions guiding this incredible power. Overexertion being a trouble hinderance for his current rank. Added with constant injuries and lastly the sun greatly hindering his healing capabilities.
Hopefully we won’t be separated. There was no need worrying about his parents knowing their strength. Being just like him even stronger with the menacing mimic as their now slave.
About jumping in the hole, he could feel two eyes peering at him from behind.
They’re not attacking. The bodies of the sand dogs laid about on the battlefield not dead nor alive neither. Not attacking like expected, momentarily laying still.
Its grinning? Hed never seen a beast grin before but this wasn’t a beast but a creation from assumingly a skill of some sort.
Grin all you want, am coming for you. With that he jumped in the hole leaving the decapitated sand dog with the creepy grin. Their bodies dissolving into sand mixing with the desert along with the huge hole sealing shut.
.........
Mhm mm! sister.. father really sent a handful huh? Lynn giggled crouching down a bit to where lumia laid.
Mfm mm! the latter tried to speak but was robbed by the rope laced around her mouth along with her hands and leg.
They managed to get past my illusion skill and somehow predict our location. She grinned more enjoying the thrill of excitement coursing through her veins.
I can tell they’re not part of the royal guards or lumia kingdom. She plaused getting to her feet placing her hand to her chin. Her dark purple hair swaying gently in the wind.
That face, I’ve seen it before. She thought trying to recall something.
Could it be him? The one who beat father. Her lips curved upwards into a sly grin staring outwards.
