Chapter 180: prisoner

Out in deserts at the far outstretch of lumia kingdom a gaping hole could be spotted in the sand. Tunneling further down to the ground. Revealing a submerged world with its own core.

A core was the vital life force of a being including a planet. The requirements for forming such core for humans were from birth. Through the shared link between the mother and infant. The same went for a planet except instead of being birthed by a mother. Developed its core from the surrounding energy acquired from the universe.

It was a complex and grappling process to understand. But not entirely a difficult logic if one thought well about it.

Roar.

A loud roar pierced the ear gaining everyone’s attention to the source. There at the center of the once barren battlefield stood a woman. With pale looking skin wearing a stylish befitting sleek blue dress tailored to suit her figure perfectly. Gracefully standing on a pair of glass heel.

She had a calm expression on her face one not willed but born from countless battles she had encountered. Beneath her poker face lied a sharp cunning gaze that never left her mark. One of pure intuition and cunningness.

In front was nothing more than a sight to behold. It was a beast unlike any other. Having a long sleek body with glass like scales running across its blue azure skin. Sharp ice claws emitting a faint hue of frost around its tip with a killer tail. Hovering just slight above the ground though the creature was grounded.

Roar!

It roared again this time more fiercer, as if activating a skill. And like a command blue energy gathered in its mouth. Charging up with a static hum as thin layers of ice particles swayed in the air. Few distance from the blue energy.

Without warning the blast shot out in a straight line. Releasing an outburst of swirling blue energy dying the once barren ground in complete ice. Shooting in a straight-line colliding with the incoming cyclone of purple energy.

This power.. its too much. Kyle inwardly muttered in awe never experience this kind of power from any beast he’d fought. According to the ranks he gauged this dragon would definitely be on a high rank. Probably the legendary tier as that was what the system classified the katana as. And the dragon was basically the materialization of the frozen katana.

[its aura is absurd. I can’t pinpoint the exact amount of mana contained but its no joke. That beast would kill you in mere seconds.] snow hinted to which kyle nodded.

s-she unleashed her beast companion. Lynn stuttered not expecting to see a dragon emerge out of Elsa’s chest. She’d predicted the latter to opt more for a skill but never in her wildest dreams would she presume elsa would go all out.

It wasn’t her fighting style to do so settling for a slower build to gauge her enemy’s strength and plot her next attempt. So, it certainly sent her off-guard.

It doesn’t matter. She cant be able to break past the vortex. It took up a lot of energy from the staff plus I also added most of my mana. A confident smirk tug by the corners of her lips.

The once still air had grown sharper, as if coming alive. On one side the pressure seemed to have plummeted greatly as thick ice covered the rocky ground. Fragment of frost raining down slowly to the ground creating small spikes wherever it landed.

Standing on this side was none other than elsa. Composed as ever her eyes never leaving lynn’s sight for once. A bit away on the other side the air had gotten thinner more fiercer chucking up smaller pieces of rocks from destroyed boulders. Effortlessly caried in the wind, sucked into the enormous swirling purple tornado.

Kyle could only watch as the two attacks from the dominant figures collided. Time seemed to have paused for seconds as the two clashed for dominance.

No way~ lynn’s breath ceased seeing the purple twister frozen in place in ice. The blast heading forward faster than before picking pace.

Move! Her mind yelled but her body paid her no heed. Looking down she could see her legs completely frozen.

Dammit I have to get out of here before that thing hits. Her mind panicked using the staff to hit her frozen legs to no avail. Feeling the atmosphere run cold she did something strange.

Clang!

The wooden staff fell to the ground with a resounding thud. You won. I admit defeat, you can take me as your prisoner.

She calmly spoke making elsa raise a brow. A soft smile spreading to her blood red lips.

Who said I was taking you prisoner? A sly grin tug on her mouth making lynn expression contort into a frown.

y-you can’t be serious. He ordered to bring me back alive. The rules, you can’t-

shhh.. elsa placed her finger to her lips. A thick line of ice covering lynn’s mouth sealing it shut. You talk too much.

She smiled this time odder than normal. Somewhat resembling a deranged psychopath or lunatic with a wild mission confusing kyle more.

She can’t possibly kill her right? I mean not that I care but that would be treason. He didn’t quite understand Elsa’s motives as her plan was quite unpredictable.

[unfortunately.. am unable to detect any killing intent from her but there isn’t a trace of malice oozing from her.]

In no condition to move kyle barely watched from the ground as the situation unfolded. The idea of killing lynn wasn’t just crazy but outrageous.

Sure, she was a depressed princess with daddy issues. But beneath all that she was somewhat similar to him. Having lost her status and honor amongst her kind. Sending her into some sort of emotional breakdown affecting her sense of reasoning. Further fueled by the death of her mother and her banishment.

s-she’s not stopping in the attack. I can’t believe it she is trying to actually kill me. There was no questioning it. There wasn’t a slight emotion readable from Elsa’s face but her actions said it all.

She had no intentions of taking prisoners.

Its not stopping she’s going to kill her.

If this crazy princess died by Elsa’s hand not only would the deal between him and troy be broken but a much dire catastrophe would befall.

[activate skill last stand?]

The system screen flashed before his eyes. Staring at the holographic screen he paused considering the requirements of this skill.

[channels all users mana and strength into a single blow dealing a powerful attack against affected individuals.]

The description of the skill was too good to be true. Not requiring mana or demon energy for activation.

[note a small amount of host life force will be drained in return for the activation of this skill.]

The next set of system words filled his view. Of course, too good to be true.

Though the skill seemed like a trump card it was in fact limited. Requiring his mana and strength. He didn’t know if the system accepted demon energy as well but he doubted it. Since the skill was strangely under the set of skills under mana tab.

It doesn’t matter. I’ll be dead anyways. Gritting his teeth, he selected the yes button activating the last stand skill. Immediately he could feel a rush of energy surging within him. It started at his chest where both his hearts were.

Then spread throughout every fiber, muscle, atom in his body. His weak legs gaining strength rapidly, breaking past the former fatigue. Broken bones in his body fixed back into place, though his injuries expanded drawing more blood.

Huh? Elsas eyes widened feeling the sudden outburst of energy. Her eyes immediately locating kyle on the floor.

Its coming from him. But how is he doing that? The thought circled in her head seeing kyle defy the odds.

Pushing his body through the sheer force pulling him down to the rune. Standing to his feet in not time, despite still being in the pentagon prism.

Stretching her left hand out particles of ice gathered at her palm. Swirling rapidly condensed into a much smaller azure colored ball.

Bang!

It recoiled off elsa’s hand, shooting fast for kyle. Seeing this the latter had a blank expression on his face, not fazed by the onward attack.

Swoosh.

A torrent of air swirled around him covering his body, just before the ice collided with it. Freezing the air in place.

Somethings not right. Though it looked like kyle had been frozen elsa thought otherwise.

There you are~

Behind her the air turned sharper with a violent intent. Kyle appearing behind her, his fist just inches from her head.

i-i got her. There was no way she could dodge or block this hit without going unscathed with somewhat damage sustained.

Your tricks are impressive. She smiled her body turning into ice right before kyle’s fist slammed into her head. Exploding it into tiny fragments of ice, creating a wave of blast projected out.

But I have a few up my sleeves. A hand made its way to his neck hard. Causing him to fall to the ground, with a sharp pain assaulting his heart. From the effects of the adrenaline 10* rushing through his vein from the activation of last stand.

Enough games. Elsa said disappearing from spot moving with blinding speed towards a particular location. Reappearing besides kyle with the figure of yet another lynn in hand.

Time to go home. She smiled ice enveloping lynn freezing her whole.

h-how? He questioned with blurry eyes staring at elsa. The last words he heard were lumia screams before everything faded into complete darkness.
