Chapter 179: Ice queen

It’s been a while since we met. A soft voice uttered in a neutral tone.

Where once stood the frozen dragon katana was now a beautiful young woman with snowy white skin. Dressed in an enchanting elegant blue dress reaching her feet. Decorated with a darker shade of blue gems around her neck region, kyle guessed were a fortune.

You’ve been quite a problem. Not only to your father but also the five neighboring kingdoms. A subtle frown appeared on her face disappearing immediately like it was never there.

[weird.. am not detecting any malice or killing intent from her.] snow relayed to which kyle was aware. Not detecting any change in her calm demeanor or slight flicker in her aura. Though his gut instinct told him otherwise.

y-you~ what are you doing here? Lynn yelled demanding an answer. Her glowing purple hand still stretched at elsa. The expression on her face was of one kyle thought he would never see.

She sees her as a threat. It was clear as day the shocked expression written all over lynn’s face couldn’t be hidden. The wild look in her eyes vanishing, replaced with a more serious one.

Now that’s no way to greet an old friend. Elsa said with a calm demeanor. Her eyes shifting from lynn to kyle.

You failed. Normally I would kill you, but am in a good mood.

Good mood? He had only met elsa twice. One during the summoning of the five rulers of supposed nearby kingdoms unknown to him. Second being the inconvenient departure of his journey from the castle.

Though brief her expression remained the same. Cold, devoid of life and an unreadable face, throwing those surrounding her off-guard.

I’ll grant you just this once the chance to flee and never return. She firmly spoke with more of a commanding tone. I can’t however allow those things to live.

Particles of ice formed behind her materializing into several small shards of frozen sickles. Shooting fast like a command towards the three unconscious bodies lying in front.

She’s fast. The speed used in creating those sickles were unlike any he’d seen. Even faster than the air bullets troy had made. Or the blast projected from lynn.

Am not done yet! Kyle yelled struggling to his feet. Activating stamina regeneration several times restoring somewhat of his stamina. Both his mana and demon energy had been drained, which wasn’t being restored for some reason.

Don’t be a fool. Not that am concerned but your body is in no shape to battle. And from the looks of it your mana has also been drained by her. Elsa calmy stated in a slightly irritated tone. She could sense kyle heartbeat growing weaker from the tremendious strain weighing on it by his severely injured state.

How is he still alive? She questioned still unsure how kyle survived all this.

Knowing lynn and the ability she possessed he wasn’t a match for her. As she not only had a large amount of mana backing her ability. But also the skills and cunning mindset to deploy.

Am not done! I-I’ll show you.. Gritting his teeth kyle stuggled to move his legs towards lynn. The distance was relatably shorter but it felt like miles with his current pace.

Intriguing.. snapping her finger the ice sickles disappeared without a trace.

If I can get close enough. I’ll be able to steal her mana. It was a long shot with a very low probability but he went with it. Not having much option to choose from.

[kyle you’re not thinking straight she’ll kill you!] snow yelled but kyle paid her no heed. Slowly advancing towards the still shocked lynn.

Attempting to take another step he wasn’t prompted too feeling some invisible force pulling from below.

Looking down his eyes widen in horror seeing the previous foreign rune used by Lynn.

Don’t interrupt me. Lynn muttered eyes still locked to Elsa.

This doesn’t make sense. Why would he choose to break the law now of all times? Beads of sweat strolled down her forehead but she couldn’t care less. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

In the law of the food chain the superior ranks feeds on the lower ranks. Same going for every diverse species scattered across the globe. And it was no doubt clear who the higher rank was between her and the cold presence in front.

I won’t repeat myself. Surrender now or face the consequences. Her voice was calm yet containing a hidden warning to it.

I.. will never! Lynn screamed in defiance her aura bursting out from her pushing Kyle still trapped in the rune back.

Existential subconscious! She shouted with veins bulging on her forearm. A soft ethereal purple light enveloping her body.

[Incredible.. her mana just surged and her aura readings are going off the charts.]

I knew reality manipulation was powerful and all but I didn’t think it was this annoying.

During his time on earth he didn’t dabble much into characters with the ability to control mana. Mainly because it was considered the most propaganda work of fiction.

As not only was it an overpowered ability but also an unpredictable one.

Even with a quarter of my strength I can’t get out of this. The force was equivalent to a solid magnetic field pinning him face first to the ground.

[Not yet..] snow butted in.

[I thought you’d be smarter now with increased intelligence but seems you’re still a sadistic pervert. Ha.. oh well.]

Listening to Kyle couldn’t believe his ears. Not only was he almost killed by Lynn but now trapped by one of her skills about to be crushed.

But his amazing system had somehow found a way to be sarcastic about it?

Are you having a glitch again?

[Snorts* and they say artificial intelligence has no sense of humor.] She scoffed in disdain.

[Can’t you feel it? There’s a slight decrease in the pressure.]

Unaware at first but now that his system mentioned it he could feel it. The force tugging him down had reduced. Though not a significant amount to be noticeable but very subtle.

[Though reality manipulation might be considered out of this world it is infact surrounded by varying conditions. The most important being it’s enormous usage of mana for the activation of a single skill. Now while Lynn might posses a large amount of mana it isn’t infinite meaning she’s limited to a certain amount of times she can shape reality.]

So you’re saying her mana pool will soon run out?

[That’s the likely cause considering how much mana she’s burning up into that skill.] Snow replied.

[While she’s skilled to some extent she still lacks experience. And from my observations I’ve determined she can only keep active 2 skills at most simultaneously. For a short period of time before being completely drained.]

2 skills? Didn’t she use more than 2? Before his encounter with Lynn she’d used a reality manipulation skill. To conjure up those undying sand dogs earlier.

And down here if he recalled perfectly she’d used more than three skills. First being the Pentagon prism, second was the smaller version of the purple barrier dome.

The third were the huge blasts and lastly the chains she used to drain both his mana and demon energy.

[You’re wrong. She’s used only two skills so far first being the Pentagon prism and existential subconscious. The blasts and chains came from that staff while the sand dogs were a part of her existential creation.]

But what about the dome barrier she used at the castle and here? That has to be another skill right?

[Not exactly.. while they may appear different there are infact traces of similarities between the construct of the three. Indicating the purple dome at the castle and here are enhanced version of the prism.]

...

Meanwhile, a bit further on the barren field a battle was currently ongoing. Several huge boulders shattered into fragments along with the frozen bodies of Lynn clones.

A-am loosing out. A clone stuttered tightly clutching the staff. Her face was all bloody with minor injuries.

Her breath was ragged panting in deep huffs of air. A deep scowl plastered on her face staring ahead.

You don’t stand a chance, surrender now and I’ll let you live. Elsa teased poking on Lynn’s nerves which worked. A thick vein bulging on the latter’s forehead.

Argh! She roared blasting off a huge torrent of purple energy from the staff. Swirling with incredible power aimed at Elsa.

Seeing this the poker expression on her face didn’t waver. Instead replaced with a sly grin.

Freeze. Her tone was low barely audible like a whisper. An eerie silence followed after her words the the constant buzzing of the purple tornado heading for her.

Time seemed to have paused a for a few seconds before something unexpected occured. An object shot from her chest with terrifying speed growing in length in milliseconds.

What seemed like a small popsicle expanded into a 7 feet ice spear in a second. Gaining weight in contrast with it’s rapid growth transforming into a full fledge frozen mystical creature.

Dragon. Kyle’s jaw dropped not believing his eyes. He’d encountered a few mythical beasts along the way but this dragon was different.

Not only did it posses shimmering glass like scales but it’s aura far surpassed that of any beast he’d ever squared off with.

Roarrr! Out from it’s mouth was a projection of a frost blast. Colliding with the purple tornado completely freezing it to Lynn’s horror.

Not stopping there but also turning everything that came in contact with it to ice.
