Triple X System-Chapter 224: The great liberation (2)
"What the hell is the deal with this old hag?" Lucia’s wondered, trying his best to suppress his anger. Which was rapidly rising within him, the more this old woman spill horse shite.
It was considered a breach in the law to spill degratory remarks about the royal household. But as space guards, they held no power to react. Only king Troy, and specific designated nobles chosen by the king himself were opportuned to make a decision.
"But then that’d be a rebellion against the royal household, the kingdom and our home. Doesn’t that count as a traitors personality punishable by death?" Liam commented conflicted about Katie’s words.
In this moment of troubling and dark times, it was normal for humans to put their faith in a Messiah.
Leading them out of the storm into the light, like a knight in shining armour. And Katie had stepped up to that role perfectly, managing to sway some groups of people with her alluring personality.
"Look around you Liam." The smirk on her lips faded, replaced with a more serious expression.
"We’re literally hiding in a bunker underground, we all saw the beasts strength. Causing havoc to the kingdom, killing a small amount of people. Sparing us for the great liberation." She calmly spoke, heading over to his direction.
Placing both her hands on his shoulders, directly staring into his eyes. "Even with the current weapons and defense, the troops if space guards stationed in the kingdom were easily annihilated. By the dargon’s brute strength and massive claws."
Listening to her, he couldn’t deny she was right. The dargon’s were no doubt a force to be reckoned with. One they had never heard witness to before, with beastial traits unknown to them.
But in a short span of time, they’d managed to not only make their presence known. But also oppose the ruthless and cold king.
"The king is no doubt strong, but his weaknesses are both his daughters. Which I’m sure will hinder him into making a mistake, costing not only his but their lives." Katie continued with a sick smile, making Liam slightly shiver.
’W-what’s this feeling?’ He mumbled, staring at his hands visibly shaking.
He didn’t know Katie, just like all the rest commoners and average middle class people here. But he could tell she didn’t possess an ability or aura, but something more lethal.
’Msnipulation.’ It was the greatest mind game of all. Get into your targets head, and hack into their personal thoughts, regrets, emotions. Using it against them as blackmail to do one’s bidding.
It was a bit complex for individuals without the telekinesis skill. Requiring mapping out your target, reading such individual in and out like a book. Waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike, which sometimes took weeks, to months. And in some cases years, depending on the mission state.
But Katie, the old woman had managed to sway some groups of people with just her words. Latching on to the thing they currently sought most, which was hope.
And faith to believe in something, at the face of death. Not just a leader but someone to deliver them out of the bondage they were in.
"S-so you’re saying we’ll be alright with Troy and the Kingdom gone?" He softly asked, beginning to give into her charms. Which she nodded, with a light smile.
"Of course~ the demons aren’t here to destroy us but worldly possessions and the unbelievers. Of course for a small price out testing our faith in them, through the sacrificing of the nobles. Marking ourselves in their blood as one of them!" Katie declared, making a cut to her right palm with the sharp edge of the wooden pipe.
"All hail the dark one’s, all hail the great liberation!" She changed, accompanied by the crowds of people she’d roped in to her little cult.
Spreading more with new people joining in, buying her idea as the great messenger of the beasts. Sent to liberate them from the pit they’d dug, into salvation.
"Huh? What’s going on?" A young woman dressed in elegant clothes uttered.
She was currently engaged in a conversation with her piers. All dressed in sleek elegant clothes, made from silk, wool and other expensive fabrics.
Stationed at the other side of the platform, much closer to the space guards. Showcasing the distinguishment of the upper class from the lower class.
Tilting her head a bit, her eyes widened seeing a small mob of people chanting in a strange tongue. Growing rapidly, amongst the commoners and middle-class individuals. As more people joined in their initiative, led by an old woman.
"What the hell is this!?" A bulky man, dressed in a regal black shirt and blue fitting cloth frowned.
"They’re probably entertaining themselves during this perilous times." Another female in plain white dressed, adorned with soft white flower petals chuckled.
Shrugging the rebellion as nothing but mere charade. Taking a sip from the glass of red wine in her clutch.
"Don’t be silly Mabel, they’re just ecstatic to be in the same room as us." A busty woman in her early 30’s with blonde hair said. The forefront braided round, forming a crown with light green flowers placed to it blurted out.
She was wearing a scarlet dress, doing little in hiding her bountiful blossoms. In her hand was a bottle of wine, almost finished.
"Miss Lyra, you’re hungover from the alcohol." The young man with short brown hair spoke behinthe group, adjusting his glasses.
"Oh! F-forgive my clumsiness, but I’m perfectly fine. Even after two bottles I still ride in the wind like a stallion." Lyra stuttered, barely able to stand tripping over her own step.
"Of course, you’re perfectly fine." Melo sarcastically spoke with a smile, adjusting his glasses.
Turning, his eyes lingered on the crowds of mob advancing towards them. Stopping just at the little steel gate, erected to about 5 foot tall. A few space guards of about 5 protecting the gate. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
"What’s your take on this young man?" Brazen, the bulky man asked with listening ears.
"What we’re witnessing now is a shift in the balance. With the condition of the king and the Kingdom unknown, situations like these are bound to happen." He spoke, his hands casually dipped in his pockets.
"So cool~ err.. I mean, humph!" Lyra pouted, tints of red plastered to her cheeks gulping the alcohol down her throat.
’Just how much stimulant has that woman had within such short period?’ Fiona, the radiant beauty dressed in white scrunched her brows.
"Give me that, you’ve had enough for today." Blina frowned, attempting to grab the almost empty bottle from Lyra.
Resulting in the grown woman, shifting to the side out of reflex or the alcohol’s influence. No one really knew.
"Haha too slow." Lyra pouted, sticking her tongue out. "Catch, blurp! Me if you can." She challenged her, making a thick vein form by the side of blina’s forehead.
"You are so on!" Blina chuckled with a weird grin, chasing after Lyra.
"Hopeless~" Fiona muttered, facepalming her head.
"Amusing." Mabel giggled, with intriguing eyes.
"Anyways. You were saying something about a shift in power, melo. How? We may be underground but knowing the king, he’s bound to take care of the little pests in his kingdom eventually." Brazen proudly concluded, his faith in Troy solid as linder itself.
"That’s the thing. The king is no doubt strong, but there’s no denying even he has his limits. And with the current events in the kingdom lately, he’s certainly on the edge of being conflicted about his own decisions. Which is a perfect time to launch a surprise invasion against the kingdom." Melo said in his usual poker face.
Listening to him, brazen’s eye slightly widened understanding his logic. With the start of the 54th annual hunger games competition, things had started to spiral out of control with the one they call shadow slayer.
A peasant captured as a slave, brought into the hunger games for a chance at survival. It was an epic main event card, underdog rising to the top and challenging the boss type of match set. Further spiking the crowds adrenaline, with the legends fight scenes.
"So, you think he won’t win?" Brazen asked.
Not responding immediately, melo lowered his head staring at the ground.
"There’s no doubt he’s going to pull through this. Afterall, he has the help of the legendary floral ability princess, miss Lisa. And that peasant-" He paused slightly shaking his head.
"Something about him just gives me the thrill of danger lurking in the unknown." A wide grin crept across melo’s face. Causing brazen to subconsciously take a step back, not comfortable with that creepy grin one bit.
"And that’s what troubles me the most. The fact that everything will return back to normal." He lightly uttered, with a questioning gaze.
"Ahh!" A sharp scream pulled their attention.
Tilting their head to the direction of the noise, they could see an old woman with grey hair. Standing at the fore front of the mob line, a piece of glass in her hand.
Below her was a teenage girl with autumn hair, dressed in basic brown dress. Clutching her shoulder, bleeding red with blood from the stab wound by the old hag.
"The time has come for an end to the old era, and a beginning of a new one." Katie spaid, earning the praises and chants from the crowds of people behind her.
"Let the great liberation begin!"
