Chapter 230: Creator of beasts and system

"Who’s there?" Kyle asked looking round, but there was no one insight. Not even a faint trace of remnant aura, which was weird.

Judging the dargon’s fed on mana, and were inhabiting this ship moments ago.

"Inquisitive~ I like that." The voice masked in a monotone translator chuckled. Adding to Kyle’s growing wariness of this individual.

’Could this actually be the creator of these things?’ Kyle pondered slightly raising a brow.

He couldn’t determine if this voice was actually a human or beast in disguise. And the haunting spacecraft made it all the more a daunting task for him.

[I was able to run a scan of the whole ship.] Snow suddenly blurted out in his head.

The image of the dargon’s spaceship layout forming in his head. Skimming through the craft complex yet intriguing architecture within a flash.

[There was no detection of any lifeform here. What you’re listening to is either a pre-recorded message. Triggered from your arrival on the spaceship. Or a possible transmission message from the central command center. Which means you’re live with whosoever is speaking.] Snow said with a troubled voice.

’What is it?’ Kyle queried sensing snow’s uneasiness.

[The spaceship, there was no record of any layed out traps I could find. Which is weird, judging by the earlier opening of the spaceship. I detected a forced control opening, from a new program.]

’Which means this whole propaganda is probably a setup to lure us in here.’ Kyle continued, understanding where snow was headed to.

[Exactly, I suggest you make a run for it now. You’re still really close to the exit, so chances of escaping are 80%.]

"I highly urge you not to attempt to run. You see, this entire ship is rigged to blow. With enough explosives to decimate an entire Kingdom within a 200 mile radius." The unknown voice spoke, reading Kyle’s thought.

Maintaining a calm look, the latter lightly chuckled. "I was no doubt impressed with the feat your kind exhibited down there. But I’m glad to break it to you they’re all dead. Even that blue dargon."

Kyle chortled with a degratory smile. Not responding immediately, the voice went silent.

"I must say, I’m impressed with your level of confidence. Adjudicating from your steady heartbeat, it’s no doubt you killed the blue dargon. Am I right?"

"Yes. I landed the final blow." Kyle vemturesomely answered.

"Is that so.. Very well then, why don’t you head on down to the central command so we can speak face to face." The voice concluded, ending the chat.

’Guess running’s out of the option now.’ Clenching his fist, there was nothing he could do but play this sick game. And try to get out some information from the speaker.

Following the directions of the spaceship layout in his head. He made his way back to the 5 holes, heading into the second huge hole. Leading to a dark tunnel, without any source of illumination whatsoever.

"Why’s the floor sticky?" Kyle questioned with an agitated expression. Struggling to move his legs freely, from the wet sticky substance on the ground.

Moving through the swamp like floor, he could see a faint light source up ahead. It didn’t take long before he reached his destination, arriving in a more solid floor without hindrance.

Looking at the command center, it wasn’t identical to the one present at the teleportation bay. Instead, possessing more advanced controls with foreign languages that looked more like hieroglyphs.

With various symbols, letters and numbers displaying on the single huge screen with the black vein substance behind it. An unnatural serene glow, similar to moonlight casting a soft ethereal light in the spacious room.

"First of all, allow me to congratulate you on your decisive victory against my creations." The voice clapped.

"Decisive? That’s too kind." Kyle responded not buying into the words of an imaginary figure not physically present.

"You’re right, that was too kind." The voice replied in a more serious tone.

The hieroglyphics readings running on the screen then contorted. Twisting and changing at the center, forming something.

Looking deeper, the foreign writings then converged together. Forming the image of a masked figure.

"I thought you mentioned we were meeting face to face. Scoffs! As expected of a coward race of lesser beasts." Kyle sarcastically uttered uninterested in the little display.

"I wasn’t aiming to please you. Also, your insignificant mind won’t be able to comprehend such advanced language. But that isn’t the reason I brought you here." The voice paused, it’s tone becoming more serious.

"You’re a strange one Kyle Connor. I’ve had my eyes on you for quite some time now, since you arrived here. Tell me, were you born a demon or turned?"

Standing still, Kyle’s eyes widened hearing the dargon’s creator. He was unsure before if this was truly the creator of those destructive beings. But he didn’t need to question further, with the emergence of these information.

"Who are you and how do you know my name?" Kyle demanded with a scowl.

"Like I said, I’m the creator of the dargon’s. And I’ve been keeping a keen tab on you since you magically arrived here." The emphasis made on the word magically arrived, made Kyle wonder if this strange individual had some connection with Lilith.

Just like how the backstabbing vampire did.

"Since you know so much, figure it out yourself."

Chuckling, the former laughed without a care in the world. It’s voice echoing throughout the massive spaceship walls.

"I’ll take that as a challenge, hmm.. let’s see~ I’m leaning towards a possible pact with someone close to you, turning you into a demon. Definitely a powerful being, with connections to the demon king himself."

Raising his hands, Kyle clapped them. "I would congratulate you, but smashing your skull in between my hands feels much appropriate as a thank you gift."

"I see~ humans really are fascinating creatures, it’s a shame there’s no place for them in the new world." The voice replied, making Kyle’s smile contort into a frown.

"What are you talking about?"

"The inevitable truth that we both know is bound to happen. Face it, humans are at the bottom of the food chain. Only a few chosen one’s will survive what’s about to come." Giggling with a sinister voice, the screen changed yet again. Showcasing a slide show of short clips of what looked like a laboratory.

It was far spacious than all the laboratories he’d seen back on earth. Even topping the loading/teleportation bay combined, the size of the entire kingdom. Filled with giant pods, housing the dargon’s.

Slightly floating in an eerie green liquid substance, brimming with a soft green glow. Thick big cables of about two were strapped to a circular black device. Beneath the pods, leading to a single massive device shaped like a red cube.

"Why are you showing me these clips? Aren’t you afraid you’re giving out your location, and I might just find you faster to rip rip your head out?" He dashed a cold smile, earning a confident smirk from her speaker.

"Of course, I’ll be expecting your company. Just don’t die before you actually begin the real challenges of your life." The speaker genuinely warned, hinting of a possible setup in the nearby future.

"Why?" Kyle calmly asked, his blood boiling beyond natural levels.

"Isn’t it simple? You’re the inherited delegate of the superficial intelligence. Also known as the system." The speaker relayed, making Kyle’s pupil to slightly shrink.

’It’s aware of the system.’ He frowned, attacked at how nonchalantly the voice made mention of the system.

According to Lilith, it was previously in Lucifer’s possession. Until stolen by the demon succubus and inherited by him. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

The existence of such a precious item to the demon king was no exclusively hidden. So how could this individual acquire news of such, except-

"You’re also the creator of the system?" Kyle asked, awaiting an answer from the masked figure.

There was no other possibility he could think of. The system, like snow had started was far complex. Even to her understanding, far surpassing planned expectations. Like an infinite growing variation of ever expanding self evolution.

Waiting for an answer, the atmosphere was tense. The silence in the control center overshadowing the low oscillating rhythm of the ventilation system.

"Yes and no. I’ve come in contact with the creator of the legendary system. But no, I’m not the one who created it."

’Beep! Beep!’

The intrusion of a beeping sound, sent Kyle’s senses on alarm. "Some kind of bomb?"

He frowned watching the flickering red light, flashing with a warning signal on a button located on the control panel.

"Unfortunately, our little time talking has come to an idea. It was an exciting pleasure talking to you. Till we meet again." With that the feed cut, without the stoppage of the beeping sound.

[Kyle, you might wanna take up my offer and make a run for it.] Snow hurriedly spoke.

"Already ahead of you!" Crouching down a bit, he ran through the ground.

Taking a big leap just at the end of the solid structure, landing on a wall by the left. Digging his fingers deeper into the thick hide wall, composing his balance.

’Boom!’

An explosion occurred behind him, followed by the ignition of several explosions. Blasting a trail of blue flames from the command center, destroying the entire spaceship into shreds.

"That was close." Kyle sarcastically muttered, panting some meters away from the rather small explosion.

He couldn’t deny today was probably the most adventurous and adrenaline packed day in his life. Filled with hidden clues, and buried mysteries revolving around the system.

"I wonder if he’s awake yet." Slightly shaking his head, Kyle decided to keep what had transpired in the dargon’s spaceship for later.

Making his way back to the kingdom.
