Triple X System-Chapter 231: Mana Rain
Making his way back to the kingdom, he noticed the air had changed. Transitioning into a more thicker scent, with traces of energy he guessed was from the blue mana beam.
It wasn’t harmful to him, but gave this weird tingling sensation inward. Feeling his mama core reacting to this unprecedented phenomenon.
’Growl.’
Placing his hand to his stomach, he rubbed it. Giving it some light taps, growling in protest for food.
"I can’t remember the last time I had a decent meal." He muttered with a weak smile.
As a demon he didn’t require much good in the normal sense humans do. But still, his body demanded replenishment of lost nutrient by feeding. Which he did, occasionally watching over his shoulders with the constant fear of his life in danger.
"Wasn’t there a wall here previously?" During his first arrival here, he clearly recollected a towering wall present. Encompassing the entire kingdom, in a square like formation. But now there was none, leaving the strong forthold open.
Shrugging his shoulders, he reached yhe first building towards the entrance of the kingdom. Taking a little detour into the half destroyed glass building, in hopes of finding food.
Going in through the broken sliding glass doors, he quickly scanned the room for a fridge or vending machine. He wasn’t sure there was a kitchen present in this office like establishment, but her didn’t jinx his luck.
"No good. Snow, can you scan the room and pinpoint the location of nearby edible food." Kyle wailed like a little child, earning a scoff from his wide system.
[I’m only able to detect traces of items containing energy, which would be tricky. Considering this building has no less than 20 floors, so there should be a couple of vending machines. Running on electricity generated from mana stones, wiped out from the blast.]
’Growl.’
Listening to her made his tummy grumble more in anger. Causing the emersion of sharp grunts, from time to time. There was no traces of a fridge, kitchen or vending machine present here.
Only office chairs and desks, drawing boards with charts and a cooling dispenser water. Which was miraculously still active, quenching his thirst momentarily while fueling his hunger.
’Why does it hurt this much.’ Kyle winced, exhaling a light air causing a sharp pain to assault his stomach.
He was currently heading up the steps, on a snail’s pace clutching his guts.
[Phew!] Snow sighed with a light chuckle, attracting Kyle’s attention.
"T-tell me you found food."
[Luckily for you yes, I did happen to locate a nearby kitchen on the second floor. From the remnant of the abundant energy used.] She relayed, the colour on Kyle’s face slightly returning.
Not wasting time, he bolted up the steps arriving at the second floor in no time. It was a mimic of the first floor, with a spacious feel. Currently in a mess, with pieces of the ceiling missing. Along with some destroyed desks, crushed by the big derbies.
"That must be it." A warm smile of victory spread across his lips, knowing he was just some few steps from his goal.
Threading softly against the ground, he avoided the exposed hanging wires descending from the ceiling.
’Click!’
Twisting the door open, the sight of a well arranged kitchen presented him. No signs of cracks, dents or even the slightest blemish present anywhere.
’it’s like nothing happened.’ He found it weird how this kitchen, was spontaneously free from destruction.
Considering the fact it was in fact not separated from the room. Sharing the same space, from the starting point of these chaos.
’If didn’t know right, I’d say this kitchen was somehow protected against the blast. Which usually means there’s a secret passage or something hidden here.’
[I couldn’t detect any trace of such, it’s probably concealed with a high level cloaking device.] Snow reported, ending her scan.
Nodding, Kyle got to work searching for food to consume. There was a silver fridge without power, stationed at the far right corner of the room. But that wasn’t his objective, instead choosing the thick glass cabinets and drawers.
"For a self proclaimed great kingdom, ruled by a pervert cold killer they sure do crave attention." Kyle rolled his eyes, repulsed by lumia’s kingdom flamboyant nature.
From the castle to the teleportation bay, even down to this glass skyscraper. Never for once had any structure here failed to impress. Just the architectural feat was a marvel, but going deeper unfolded more advanced and expensive equipments.
"Finally." A light sigh of relief escaped his mouth hitting the jackpot. Before him were multiple snacks of various brands and sizes.
[They’re safe to consume.] Snow concluded.
Without wasting another second, Kyle grabbed a big bag of potatoes chip. Ripping it open with ease, shoving a handful in his mouth.
[Easy there lord destroyer, or you’re going to choke on your food.] Snow warned which fell to deaf ears.
Kyle completely ignoring her, chomping down in the crunching potatoes. Seasoned with a spicy yet sweet sprinkle of pineapple and blackberry flavour. His hand reaching for some chocolate bars, tearing them open without mercy.
Taking a big bite, dumping some potatoe chips in there. Combining a mix of different flavours, exploding in his taste buds.
"Where have you been all my life." A single tear slid down his eye, caressing some coconut bread mixed with high class butter he doubted was present on earth.
[Once again, I’m bound to a crazy pervert whom idolizes food.] Snow muttered, her tone laced with sarcasm and little irritation.
"Don’t listen to her Mr cola. She’s just jealous she can’t be refreshed the way you satisfy my needs." Kyle seductively praised, literally kissing the chilled can of cola.
[Freaky!] She yelled to which he ignored, not stopping appreciating works of art.
"Blech!!!!!"
[Eww.. could you at least have some decency to whatever tiny manners you have left.]
"Sorry, my program is beyond such comprehension." Kyle replied, mimicking her system tone perfectly. Even going as far as imitating a broken robot, getting snow more upset.
[You’re so going to pay for this!]
"Of course, whatever you say master." Slightly chuckling, he stored all the remaining food items in the system store. Since they were non living he didn’t have a problem of them getting spoilt, as the store maintained nonliving items in the exact same way they’re stored.
Literally preserving it like a time stop safe for all eternity.
"I should keep storing food and other valuable items in the system store." He planned, snow also accepting this idea.
Finished he decided not to scavenge the entire building. Not only was it a waste of time, which he didn’t have. But the possibility of finding an item that benefitted him here were really slim.
Going to the ground floor, he departed through the single broken sliding glass door.
Retracing his steps back to where he kept Troy, the latter had disappeared.
"Sighs.. of course, what was I thinking that stubborn mule would stay put." Shaking his head, Kyle advanced towards the castle surprisingly still standing.
A large tree could be seen afar in view, sprouting up from the castle. Standing tall with pride, the cool wind brushing it’s branches.
From first sighting, the massive tree with bright green flowers on it’s branches screamed of only one person’s work.
"Just how powerful is she?" Kyle wondered, amazed by Lisa’s unhinged raw talent. In effectively utilizing her ability to the max, to generate mind-blowing matter.
Serving as an alternate medium to a tricky situation.
[From my estimate, she just be just some few levels below Troy. But still very powerful than all the people in this kingdom, including you.] Snow plainly spilled the beans, making Kyle’s heart skip a beat feeling his ego crushed. By none other than his cold system.
’Crack! Rumble!!’
The dark skies constantly flashed the blue lightning in the skies. Along with the cool air, corroded with traces of mana now getting fiercer. Droplets of water trickling down his head, indicating signs of a possible rainfall.
"Looks like it’s going to rain." He weakly uttered with a lazy voice, dragging his feet across the floor.
[Couldn’t you be any faster? I don’t want to be caught up in the rain.] Snow complained like a little child.
"Of course princess, I’ll try to stay awake through the pain and fatigue." Moving faster, he was inching closer to the castle.
The flashing of blue lightning becoming more rampant, dazzling the black charred skies with ominous blue light.
Arriving at the edge of the long gap, stretching towards the castle he took the space train. Which was thankfully still active.
"Welcome aboard, please stay seated and enjoy the ride." The monotone system voice echoed, with a light hum.
The short lightweight white space train easing off, gaining speed within the blink of an eye transporting Kyle to the castle.
Exiting the train, he made way for the castle. Anticipation and excitement washing over his body, relieved his parents along with falcon were still alive.
’Crack! Boom!’
A crack of thick blue lightning appeared in the sky, staying for over 5 seconds. With a resounding thunderclap, shaking the ground a bit.
’Thud! Thud!’
Like a command, the built up dam in the skies were released. A barrage of raindrops descending from the sky, gaining momentum fast.
Stopping, he was already caught in the rain. But that wasn’t what caught his attention. Stretching his left hand, he caught some few droplets of rain.
"Blue rain?" He raised a brow, feeling some energy similar to mana. Mixed with the dargon’s blue lightning ability.
[Gasp! That isn’t just any blue rain, but a mana rain.] Snow blurted out with excitement brimming in her tone.
