Chapter 124: Chapter 124 A Night of Terror (9)

At that moment, a black-clad figure standing beside the man was splattered with blood all over his face. With wide-open eyes, he witnessed the tragic death of his comrade and let out a furious roar. His bloodshot eyes fiercely glared at Yingsu, and with a broadsword in hand, he aimed directly for Yingsu’s back.

"Be careful," Feng Xuxu shouted anxiously, but she was still a step too late. Yingsu’s back was cut open anew, quickly staining her coat red.

The sight of fresh blood triggered something in Feng Xuxu’s mind. She leaped off the carriage, picked up a longsword from the ground, and remembered that Tai Chi Fist was about using the force of the opponent. Since she had no Inner Strength of her own, she would use their force against them.

Without control over her thoughts, she rushed to Yingsu’s side.

"Yingsu, hang in there. We’ll be able to leave soon," Feng Xuxu said without blinking, her eyes fixed on the less than ten remaining men in black. Her mouth called out to Yingsu in utter urgency.

"Miss, you... you shouldn’t have gotten off the carriage," Yingsu gasped out the words, still sitting up straight and remaining on guard. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

"Silly girl, we’re family. How could I stand by and watch you die?" Feng Xuxu, prepared to reveal her secrets, was about to release Xiaobai and Xiaojin. Just as she opened her mouth, before she could speak, she heard Uncle Ma’s earth-shaking voice from a distance, "Who dares touch my people?" As his voice fell, he was already on the ground, his gaze quickly sweeping over Feng Xuxu, and on seeing her unharmed, he felt a weight lift off his shoulders. Then, with a sharp gleam in his eyes and squinting slightly, he sent his powerful Inner Strength directly at the assassins without holding back.

Upon seeing this man, the assassins tensed up and focused with all their might to confront the old man who had just appeared. The assassins exchanged glances and then launched an attack, each move lethal and aiming for vital points. Uncle Ma saw all the swords stabbing toward different parts of his body from the same angle, and, quick as a flash, leaped upward, then swept a kick at one of them, his jaw breaking with a crack, tongue lolling out in a ghastly sight. The others, even more frenzied, lunged at Uncle Ma.

Feng Xuxu saw Uncle Ma was at a disadvantage without a weapon and immediately lifted her longsword and shouted, "Uncle Ma, catch the sword!"

Feng Xuxu used all her strength to throw the sword toward Uncle Ma. With a backflip, he caught it steadily and began rapidly thrusting at the assassins. In less than a quarter of an hour, Uncle Ma had taken down all the assassins.

"Girl, don’t be afraid; think of this as just a dream," Uncle Ma said to Feng Xuxu, whose face was ashen. For such a young girl to witness such a scene and not cry was the greatest act of bravery.

"Uncle Ma, I’m okay, don’t worry. I can hang on," she said, clutching Uncle Ma’s hand and drawing closer to him for warmth.

"Watch out!" Yingsu saw an arrow glowing with blue light aiming straight for Uncle Ma’s heart from behind. Just as Uncle Ma was about to dodge, he thought that if he moved, Feng Xuxu would undoubtedly die, so he silently endured the arrow.

With a thud, the sound of the arrow piercing flesh echoed as Uncle Ma spat out a mouthful of black blood and collapsed unconscious.

Feng Xuxu softly called out, "Uncle Ma, Uncle Ma, you’re the best, you won’t scare me, right? Wake up; you promised to drink the flower wine I’ve brewed. I’ve brought it; wake up, wake up, let’s go drink it now." Hugging Uncle Ma, Feng Xuxu knelt on the ground while wiping the black blood that kept pouring from his mouth, softly calling out to him as tears streamed down her cheeks and fell on his face.

Yingsu, struggling to crawl over and seeing the black blood, began to sob beside her.

"Xiaobai, Xiaojin, catch the person who shot the arrow. I want him to beg for death but not obtain it," Feng Xuxu mentally summoned Xiaobai and Xiaojin. Xiaobai immediately opened his mind and, dragging Xiaojin along, flew away into the distance.

Feng Xuxu and Yingsu laboriously lifted Uncle Ma onto the carriage, settled Yingsu, then drove the carriage herself, speeding toward the estate. Her thoughts were grim with determination not to let the perpetrator go unpunished. She had never harmed anyone, yet today, trying to save her...
