Chapter 699: Chapter 699: Grand Finale (3)

Wa Keluo straightened his robe’s collar and a cryptic smile flickered across his lips, a glint flashed in his eyes, and when he raised his head, he exuded the dignified aura of a gentleman.

Fan Ji’ao sat down with a cold face and snorted heavily, "I’ve decided, we’re going to attack the Sunset Kingdom."

Wa Keluo laughed, "That is the hero of our grassland tribes."

Fan Ji’ao reveled in the word ’hero,’ his expression arrogant as he scornfully glanced at the three people beside him, removed the wine pouch from his waist, and took several fierce swigs. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Wa Keluo turned to the other two, "What have you decided? Will you join us to feast on the spoils or continue to guard this grassless prairie, keeping watch over your herds not even numbering a thousand?"

Shi Kedan and Anuli exchanged glances, each searching for answers in the other’s eyes. Alas, other than their own reflections, they found no emotion and, disappointed, turned away.

"I need to think further; this concerns the survival of our entire tribe," Anuli said, furrowing his brow as he was the first to voice his decision.

Shi Kedan, deep in thought, looked at Anuli and slightly raised his eyebrow, following suit, he said, "What Anuli said reflects my thoughts as well."

Wa Keluo narrowed his eyes, deeply dissatisfied with their answers. After going to great lengths to summon them, the responses he received were not what he had hoped for, and a chill fell over his face, replacing the previous warmth.

Fan Ji’ao, seeing their indecision, a cunning spark flashed in his eyes, fleeting as lightning and vanishing before anyone could see. He felt contempt in his heart and sneered, "What are you hesitating for? With such an opportunity right before your eyes, it’s a pity not to seize it."

However, Shi Kedan snorted with disdain, "I’m not like someone who lets a few sweet words lose him the sense of direction."

Fan Ji’ao glanced at him and kept silent, focusing on savoring the strong liquor in his mouth and munching on the scarce jerky on the table.

Anuli thought that Wa Keluo had summoned him for just this issue, and now that he had given his answer, his presence was likely no longer needed. Therefore, the thought of departure crossed his mind, and his body made the decision to leave.

"King Wa Keluo, if there’s nothing else, then I shall take my leave. After all, like you said, our tribe still has herds to tend to."

"Hmph, suit yourself. If you miss out today, you won’t find such an opportunity in the future."

"No need. May you return in triumph." Without looking at anyone in the tent, Anuli strode out, mounted his prized steed, and rode back to his tribe against the biting wind and frost.

Wa Keluo turned his gaze to Shi Kedan, "Are you leaving too? Won’t you reconsider properly?"

"Hahaha, King Wa Keluo, I’m an easygoing man by nature, and I really have no interest in looting and such affairs. Well then, it’s time to part ways." After laughing heartily, he too turned and left.

Wa Keluo watched the tent flap sway back and forth, his face turning blue with rage. Fortunately, one person was still willing to follow him to attack the Sunset Kingdom. He readjusted his long robe and sat back down, eyeing the man still eating and drinking, "What a bunch of wastes. They pass on great opportunities and choose to cling to this worthless land. I can’t understand what they’re thinking."

"Everyone has their own aspirations. Let’s not worry about them; we’ll talk about us."

"Sure, let them starve. We’ll discuss our next move."

The two men talked late into the night inside the tent. After having their meal, they left Wa Keluo’s warm tent with satisfaction and galloped across the pale prairie on their horses.
