Chapter 1867: Chapter 1968: Mysterious Third-Party Organization

The next day, Xiang Yu and the others wore red clothes, symbolizing the mark of Red Mist.

Tie Zhuzi and Eck were eager to play and went out early. Meanwhile, Xiang Yu and Xiao Xuan wandered around the streets casually.

The slums are a lifeless city, the outside world ignores them, and it can be said that this place is isolated from the world.

Even if the outside world is in chaos, no one wants to come here because there’s nothing to gain.

Walking down the street, people quickly avoided Xiang Yu and Xiao Xuan.

"Brother, they seem to be afraid of us," Xiao Xuan said.

"It’s not us they fear, but these clothes," Xiang Yu replied lightly.

At that moment, a young man in shabby clothes stood there coldly and said, "You’re new here, why did you join them?"

Xiang Yu turned to look, seeing the young man. He appeared young, with messy hair and a gaunt face; if he dressed up a bit, he might be a spirited youth.

"What’s wrong with joining them to have a meal?" Xiang Yu stood there with interest.

"Shameless." The youth said as he headed forward.

Xiao Xuan’s face turned cold, ready to chase and teach him a lesson, but Xiang Yu quickly pulled him back, signaling not to act rashly.

Xiang Yu quickly caught up and stood by the youth, saying, "What if I said, I’m here to improve your lives, would you believe me?"

The young man paused, then looked Xiang Yu up and down before saying, "I don’t believe it."

Xiang Yu kindly said, "My purpose here is to make sure everyone can lead a good life."

"Liar." The youth didn’t believe Xiang Yu’s words at all.

"You don’t understand me, so why call me a liar? I’m planning to invest here, but before that, eliminating the local criminal forces is necessary," Xiang Yu started to speak seriously.

The youth hesitated, then looked at Xiang Yu suspiciously and asked, "Is what you’re saying true?"

"Of course," Xiang Yu sighed and said, "People here are living too hard."

"Why do you want to do this?" The youth asked Xiang Yu in confusion.

"Because I can’t stand seeing people suffer; I want to make sure everyone here can lead a good life," Xiang Yu said, his face showing pain.

Xiao Xuan stood by Xiang Yu’s side, and upon seeing his expression, almost burst into laughter and turned away.

The youth seemed somewhat excited and stepped forward, asking, "Is it true what you said?"

"Do I look like I’m lying?" Xiang Yu said very seriously.

The youth was somewhat excited, his eyes filled with tears, nearly kneeling before Xiang Yu.

"Really, are you really going to help us?" The youth said, trembling all over.

Seeing this scene, Xiang Yu was also deeply moved and then nodded, saying, "Right now, I’m trying to understand the situation here, not sure where to start."

"I can help you, I can," the youth said, holding Xiang Yu’s arm.

"How will you help me?" Xiang Yu asked the youth with curiosity.

"Follow me," the youth urged, pulling Xiang Yu along.

The youth led Xiang Yu through twists and turns to a small path, checked that no one was around, and went straight inside.

Once inside, they entered a basement; the youth knocked on the door twice, then three times, as if it were some kind of code.

The door opened to reveal a woman.

Seeing the youth bring someone in, she frowned and asked, "What’s going on, why did you bring outsiders here?"

"I need to see Big Sis, they’re here to help us," the youth said excitedly.

"What makes you say that?" the woman said sternly.

"Oh, you don’t understand," the youth said, pushing the door open and turning to Xiang Yu, "Come on in too."

Xiang Yu and Xiao Xuan cautiously walked in; it was somewhat dark with around a dozen people of both genders, who approached upon seeing them.

The youth ignored them and ran ahead.

A few minutes later, the youth returned with a woman.

The woman was about 5 feet 7 inches tall, dressed in coarse cloth clothes, with a prominent chest and good build, appearing to be in her early twenties.

"This is my sister," the youth said excitedly, "Big Sis, they’re here to help us."

"I’m Xiang Yu," Xiang Yu said, extending his hand amicably.

The woman ignored Xiang Yu and instead turned to the youth, saying, "You’re too easily trusting, they’re obviously from Red Mist."

"They came from outside, wanting to improve the environment here," the youth argued.

The woman glared at the youth, then turned to Xiang Yu, asking, "What is your purpose here?"

"As he said," Xiang Yu replied with a faint smile.

"Lies, arrest them first," the woman commanded.

The people around, upon hearing the order, stepped forward as if ready to act.

Xiao Xuan quickly moved in front of Xiang Yu, prepared not to show mercy if they dared to act.

"I don’t know if you’re familiar with this," Xiang Yu said, pulling out a gun.

The people around were startled and took a step back.

Even though Xiang Yu hadn’t been here long, he understood the local situation; being impoverished, there were no weapons like guns here.

"Sister, they have guns," the youth said nervously yet excitedly.

The gun’s intimidating effect was acknowledged, and Xiao Xuan took out two more.

"Let’s talk nicely, put the guns away," the woman said, trying to look calm.

"I said, I’m here to help you," Xiang Yu said, stepping forward and handing the gun to the youth.

The youth was very excited, looking at Xiang Yu with enthusiasm, "Are you giving this to me?"

Xiang Yu nodded, "Yes, consider it a greeting gift."

The youth nodded hurriedly and took it.

His sister glared at him, saying, "Give the gun back."

"I won’t, he already gave it to me," the youth said.

The woman said nothing and snatched the gun back, handing it to Xiang Yu, "You’ve learned of our gathering place, what do you plan to do?"

"This gun is a gift for this young brother," Xiang Yu chuckled, continuing, "I’m not very familiar with this place, nor with you; I haven’t decided what to do yet."

"Didn’t you say you’d eliminate Red Mist and Black Mist first?" the youth stepped forward.

The woman immediately covered the youth’s mouth, signaling him not to speak carelessly.

Here, Red Mist and Black Mist are supreme, and no one dares speak like that.

"Indeed, my goal is to remove them and transform this city into a prosperous one," Xiang Yu said frankly.

"I doubt you have the capability," the woman said bluntly.

"Capability is one thing, willingness to act is another; if you could assist us, the goal would be much easier to achieve," Xiang Yu said, looking at the woman.

Xiang Yu had learned quite a bit; these people were akin to an underground organization, unrelated to Red Mist or Black Mist...
