Urban System in America-Chapter 13 - : Legendary Car
Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Legendary Car
Just then, three girls happened to pass by, and upon seeing Rex, they couldn't help but stop for a moment.
All three were beautiful, with stunning figures, but one of them stood out in particular.
She had an oval face with large, lively eyes, a small nose, and plump lips, just like a character straight out of an anime.
She wasn't too tall nor too short, standing at about 5'6", with fair skin and long, flowing black hair.
The other two were also striking in their own right, but due to her anime-like features, she naturally stood out, her cute smile making her even more eye-catching.
One of the girls, named Sophia—a hot Latina—nudged her friend and pointed at Rex.
"Hey, Daisy, when did our university get such a handsome guy?" she asked, her eyes sparkling and her voice a mix of curiosity and mischief.
The anime-like girl, Daisy, shrugged. "How would I know? But if there was such a good-looking guy in our uni, there's no way he would have remained unnoticed."
"And wipe your mouth; your saliva is about to drip, Sophie." Daisy teased.
Sophia hurriedly wiped her mouth but found nothing there.
Seeing her silly actions, Daisy and the other girl couldn't help but chuckle.
"Hey, Hannah, since when did you start teaming up with her?" Sophia retorted. "And it's not like I'm the only one staring. Look at you two, you can't wait to stick your eyes on him."
Hannah, the most composed and dependable among them, coughed and change the subject.
"Maybe he's newly enrolled, or maybe he's waiting for someone."
Hearing this, the other two nodded in agreement.
These three were sophomores in the Business Management program and well-known beauties on campus.
Especially Daisy, who was often considered one of school flowers due to her petite and adorable appearance, though there was no official ranking, students had their own informal classifications.
Seeing the three class beauties talking and laughing, the boys nearby straightened their postures and tried to make themselves look cooler.
Just then, the loud honk of a truck echoed through the air, followed by the screeching of tires as a trailer pulled up.
The attention that had been fixated on Rex now shifted toward the truck with curiosity.
A young man in a suit opened the door and hurriedly got out, followed by two or three staff members.
Rex had noticed the truck the moment it appeared and stepped forward, knowing it must be for him.
The young man was about to call someone but stopped when he saw Rex approaching. After carefully observing his appearance, he quickly ran forward with a polite smile.
"Hello, sir. My name is John from the car dealership. We have safely delivered your car. Please inspect it and sign for the receipt."
Rex nodded calmly and shook hands with him.
"Thank you for your trouble."
"No, no, it's our duty," John replied before stepping aside.
By now, the staff had already begun unloading the car. Seeing the handsome young man and the newcomers chatting, everyone's curiosity was aroused and they also stepped forward.
As watching the fun is innate in everyone, especially when it involves someone handsome like Rex.
Rex was visibly excited as he saw a black-covered vehicle being unloaded.
After it was carefully unloaded.
John straightened his posture, stepped forward, and made an inviting gesture. "Sir, please..."
Rex nodded and eagerly pulled off the cover.
A hushed silence fell over the crowd as they watched with anticipation.
Finally, what came into view was a menacing shade of black, so deep it seemed to absorb the sunlight.
Upon closer inspection, they realized it was a Black car.
Most of the boys immediately recognized it: a matte black 'Chevrolat Camaro'—the dream car of many teenagers.
Even though it wasn't a luxury or sports car, this muscle car represented youth and ambition for multiple generations.
And Rex was no exception. He loved this car more than Ferrares or Lamborghines. Like any other boy, he had spent hours surfing the internet in his past life, reading about cars, and was well aware of this iconic vehicle.
Seeing this classic American muscle car before him, he immediately fell in love with it. The dark matte finish, aggressive look, and menacing aura—it was everything he had ever dreamed of, beyond words.
Gasps rippled through the crowd. Most of the boys surged forward, eyes burning with excitement, itching to touch the car and bask in its presence.
But seeing its owner standing right there, they restrained themselves—though for how long, no one knew.
A black T-shirt-clad student elbowed his friend and exclaimed, "Hey, did you see that? How cool is this car?!"
His friend, wearing a brown T-shirt, nodded, but his gaze remained fixated on the beastly car.
But instead a boy next to him spoke disdainfully, "tch!, what's this fuss about? Isn't it just a Camaro, it's not like it's a luxury car."
Hearing his tone and looking at his obviously fancy clothes with obnoxiously large logos, it was clear that he was a rich second generation.
Hearing his dismissive tone, the brown-shirted student hesitated, wanting to argue but ultimately staying silent. His simple clothes made it clear that he came from an average background.
The black T-shirt guy also remained quiet. Even though his family was above middle class, they were nowhere near rich, unlike this arrogant guy who flaunted his wealth at every opportunity.
Seeing that no one dared to refute him, the rich second-generation felt pleased.
He was already envious of Rex's good looks, and now, seeing this car only made his jealousy erupt like a volcano.
He sneered, "If it were me, I wouldn't even look at a car like this. My parents have already promised to buy me a Porsche 718 after graduation."
The two silent students exchanged glances but said nothing.
A boy in a blue shirt, who had been listening nearby, couldn't tolerate his boasting any longer.
He smirked and said sarcastically, "Oh, look who's talking—the guy driving a second-hand Cruze."
Hearing this nearby students also burst into laughter.
The rich second-generation's face flushed with embarrassment, and he angrily snapped, "So what? I'm just using it to gain experience. As soon as I graduate, I'll be driving a Porsche, which costs three times as much as this car."
The boy in the blue shirt remained unfazed. "Who knows if that's true or if you're just boasting? And even if you do buy it, why not buy it now like him?" He casually pointed at Rex before walking forward, ignoring the rich kid's reaction.
Others nodded in agreement.
The rich second-generation clenched his fists, fuming, but ultimately remained silent. Whether he was too angry to speak or knew there was some truth to the words was unclear.
Meanwhile, oblivious to all of this, John was watching everyone's reactions with satisfaction.
When he had first seen this car, he was also shocked just like them, especially knowing its true value.
Once the murmurs died down, he cleared his throat and stepped forward for the introduction.
"Ahem! As you can see, this isn't just any Camaro. This is a ZL1 Collector's Edition Camaro with only 350 cars in the world. You can imagine its rarity and value. Because even if you have the money, you can't buy one easily."
Rex's excitement was written all over his face as he stepped closer and ran his hand over the car's streamlined body.
The crowd erupted again. They had already been impressed knowing that it was a Camaro, but learning it was a limited edition, they couldn't help become excited again.
The black T-shirt boy slapped his stunned friend on the back. "I knew from the start this wasn't an ordinary car. Just look at its damn presence!"
Even the rich kid's arrogant demeanor deflated. He knew there was a world of difference between an ordinary Camaro and a Collector's Edition, cars like these appreciated in value multiple times over.
John continued his introduction, pride evident in his voice "And it comes in a 'Panther Black Matte' finish. It also features black stripes and black 20-inch wheels, which give the car its signature dark and aggressive look," John explained.
"It also has unique badging and graphics, with a panther embedded in the 'R,'" he added, pointing toward the badge.
Rex looked closely and saw the panther, it appeared incredibly domineering.
The others also craned their necks, gazing at it in awe.
Opening the door, John gestured towards the interior and continued,
"The seats feature black accents with striking red highlights, custom floor mats with a laser-etched Collector's Edition logo, and power-adjustable, heated, and ventilated Recaro bucket seats."
"There are also red accents throughout the interior, including the suede steering wheel, shift boot, and seat belts."
Despite the envy hidden deep in his eyes, John stepped aside, allowing Rex to take a closer look.
Seeing the stunning interior, Rex was amazed, especially by the red accents.
His heart almost melted, the color scheme and design were beyond his imagination.
The exterior was already breathtaking, but who would have thought it concealed such an exquisite masterpiece inside?
Other students eagerly pushed each other, trying to catch a glimpse of the interior. However, with Rex blocking the view, they couldn't see much.
Only a few standing closer managed to sneak a look.
Ahem! Clearing his throat, John continued, "And as for the engine—it's powered by a supercharged 6.2L V8, producing 650 horsepower. This beast can absolutely crush most cars on the road easily."
The source of this c𝐨ntent is freёnovelkiss.com.
Rex nodded as he listened, then noticed a number on the steering wheel.
Pointing at it, he curiously asked, "What's this number on the steering wheel?"
Hearing Rex finally ask the question he had been eagerly waiting for , John visibly puffed up with pride.
"This," he said dramatically, "is the most unique and exciting point of this car.
As you know, this is the last batch of Chevrolat Camaros, with only 350 special Collector's Edition models being made."
He paused, composing himself, as if struggling to contain his excitement.
Then, with bright eyes, he proudly announced,
"Ladies and gentlemen, the car you're looking at right now is the 350th—the very last Camaro ever made.
After this, there will be no more Camaros in the world."
His breathing grew rapid, and his tone noticeably rose as he emphasized the car's rarity and value.
The students were stunned. They already knew it was rare, but they hadn't expected this, the very last of its kind and a special edition at that.
They couldn't even begin to imagine how much it must have cost to acquire the final Camaro ever produced. Its historical significance was clear to everyone.
Rex was equally shocked and amazed. He had assumed it was just an ordinary Camaro, but who would have thought that the system would give him such a big surprise?
