Chapter 24: The Villain’s Victory Lap

The Villain’s Victory Lap

Bianca De Dominicis’ red eyes sparkled with amusement, the light in them playful yet calculating.

"Since you think it’s a good idea, I’ll invest in this project," she said, her voice cheerful, almost musical. "But I’m still hesitant. The partner I’m considering is the Kyoto Shin Cooperation, and honestly... I just don’t trust them."

"You’re overthinking it," Julian D’Aurelius replied smoothly, his golden eyes focused, his voice calm yet confident. "I’ve dealt with them before. They’re top-notch in new thermal power research. Partnering with them to access the latest technology will guarantee profits."

(Is this sharp intuition too much for a silly girl like her? The Shin Cooperation does have problems, but Evan has covered them up.) Julian’s thoughts raced internally.

(Their fake accounting and tax evasion won’t surface for a while.)

(As for the hyped thermal technology... it’s far from mature, with major safety risks. In short, it’s a damn scam.)

(And Evan... that cunning bastard spent tens of billions to buy into this lousy company just to trap the De Dominicis Household.)

Bianca let out a soft, melodic laugh, her lips curling into a subtle, victorious smile. In that moment, Julian felt like a puppet under her careful hands. As long as she presses the right button, he reacts without question, he realized.

"All right," she continued, her tone calm yet commanding. "Since you’re so sure, there shouldn’t be a problem. I’m planning to let Ryan handle this project. Do you think he’s capable?"

"Ryan De Dominicis? Genius of Valemont," Julian answered without hesitation, his praise genuine yet tinged with admiration. "With his talent, there’s no problem at all."

(It’s back... everything’s finally back to normal!) Julian’s thoughts raced.

(Letting Ryan take over this lousy project will seal the deal. If he fails, how can he cover up the project’s flaws?)

(If I remember correctly, Vice President Leo is in cahoots with Ryan. He’s aware of this and has taken a billion in bribes from Ryan to deliberately create a smokescreen.)

Bianca squinted, tilting her head slightly. Vice President Leo?

The only Leo in the company was Vice President Leo Deshen, a man who had served the De Dominicis Household for thirty years. His competence and loyalty made him deeply trusted. He had consistently advocated for the new thermal power project, discussing it with her multiple times, claiming it could secure the family’s development for twenty years.

Julian, noticing the slight tension of curiosity in her expression, smirked inwardly. She’s sharp... but still within my control.

After arranging the cosmetics scattered on her vanity table, Julian’s voice was clipped and cold. "I’ve cleaned up everything. Can I go now?"

"Not bad, you can go," Bianca said, her smile radiant, a mixture of relief and subtle amusement.

Julian didn’t rush. Instead, he glanced at her phone, subtly gesturing that she should delete the photos and videos from earlier.

"Why are you staring at me like that?" Bianca pouted, tilting her head. "I’ve already deleted the photos and videos. Check if you don’t believe me. Do you really think keeping them would make me proud?"

"Yes," Julian said firmly, nodding. "You must delete them. I can’t allow a beauty like you to have her reputation ruined by a scumbag like me."

Bianca’s crimson eyes gleamed with mischief as she silently hummed in agreement, tapping a few buttons to assure him. Julian nodded once more, then finally turned and bolted.

Footsteps fading behind him, he exhaled sharply - Bianca De Dominicis no longer on his tail. Relief hit like a wave, though his pulse still hammered wild. That close call left sweat cold on his neck, yet a grin tugged at the corner of his mouth.

Freed inside the low-slung McLaren Senna, ignition sparked to life under his palm while loud beats poured from the speakers. Victory hummed through each deep note, rattling the frame like a pulse after the win.

Finding his voice in the melody, he sensed that sharp rush - plot lines tightening once more under his grip. With hours spent steering through chaos, order had quietly returned.

So Bianca moves through the plot without missing a beat - before long, her path leads straight to Evan.

He paused briefly, reflecting on Amara Ravenswood. She seems a bit off... but Evan promised he’d challenge her grandfather at the Ravenswood Household. Their arc should kick off then.

As for Selene Aurevale...

That woman is dangerously close to Evan... no wonder she’s the main female lead! She even pretended to be engaged to me to protect him.

Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. But compared to me, king of survival, she’s still lacking. Julian smirked, eyes sharp, calculating. Once Evan secures everyone, the misunderstandings between us will be fully resolved.

"Okay, time to clock out," he muttered, slipping into his role. "The villain should return to his own life."

Pressing the gas, the McLaren Senna roared onto the road, wind whipping past, the city lights of Valemont reflecting off the polished metal. Julian’s heart raced, a mix of victory and anticipation.

Time to enjoy the life of a rich man.
