Chapter 61: You’re the Boss

Belladonna gritted her teeth as she felt her muscles rapidly tighten and stiffen as they turned to wood. Strangely, the pain was somewhat similar to what it felt with her condition. Her body fighting itself as she lost control of her limbs and quickly became useless.

Only in this world, she could actually do something about it.

Light poured out from under her skin, and when she let out a deep breath it turned the air in front of her into a haze. Switching her Infusion, Belladonna flooded her body with the power of fire, burning out the infectious wood.

The spike that had speared her caught fire, and all of them rapidly retreated underground with a pained screech.

In the distance, Fahven Bu’ul craned his head towards her and narrowed his eyes - which were like glistening crystals of amber - before his attention was drawn back to the group by a taunt skill.

"Interesting... You really hate fire, huh big boy? I’m not surprised when you’re a walking bonfire."

Belladonna muttered softly to herself before laughing coldly. She slowly staggered to her feet, wriggling her toes as she slowly got feeling back into the transformed leg. Her infusion was still burning away at the wood, doing its best to heal her, but it wasn’t fast enough.

She briefly glanced at Vestra’s body, which had started to shrivel up and decay as the wood that her body had been made up of rotted at a rapid and visible rate. Another heat rushed through her body, not from her infusion but from pure rage.

"Alright asshole... You want to dance, Let’s dance."

She lowered herself down to all fours, like a predator ready to pounce, before launching herself forwards. Darting across the land, she weaved through the crowds as barely a blur that exuded a primal bloodlust.

It was only because one of the streamers high level friends noticed her, although he thought she was some kind of monster, that he survived her attack.

"WATCH OUT!"

The ’Supreme Commander’ turned just in time from his friends shout, raising his shield just enough to block Belladonna’s punch. He slid backwards from the force, a dent in the shape of Belladonna’s fist at the very top of his shield.

His face paled for a moment, as he stared at the dent, before the white in his face turned red with rage.

"What the hell are you doing you useless bitch?! Are you that stupid that you can’t tell friend from foe."

"I guess I am... I was stupid enough to believe you, after all." Belladonna muttered to herself, her eyes filled with a cold and murderous rage as she lunged forwards again.

He quickly raised his shield again as her fist launched towards his face, but the blow he was expecting never came. Instead her punch cut short and her fingers curled around the edge of his shield instead.

She yanked it forwards, pulling the Commander off balance and opening up his defences, just as her leg was slicing towards his head.

His crumbled helmet flew across the boss arena and was quickly crushed under the foot of the enemy they should have been fighting. Commander staggered back, blood oozing from the crack in his skull, but from the pain reducer he barely felt anything.

Only resulting in a delay and fuzziness in his inputs instead of a proper head ringing concussion.

Pulling himself from the fight, one of Commander’s friends, the same one that had saved him from her initial attack, sprinted at Belladonna from behind with his sword raised. But before he could bring it down, a black ball of fluff launched itself from under her hair.

The kitten latched onto the swordsman’s surprised face, before showing him why he should fear the name Beans. His adorable little claws immediately began to slice and carve at the players face as Beans clung onto him no matter how hard the player tried to shake him off.

Belladonna didn’t even bother looking over her shoulder as she stared a withering death glare at the streamer. The scrying skull floated closer, getting a better look at the murderous look in her blood red eyes.

The streamers own chat was in a fight. Some of them shouting for him to beat the upstart and show her what happened to girls in games, while others simply revelled in the chaos and bloodsport.

"You got my friend killed. You thought she was only good for dying... when you know nothing about her. All your posturing and flaunting, all your fancy armour... and this is all you are worth?"

The Commander looked up at her from his place on the ground. He rolled something around in his mouth, before spitting a mouthful of blood and a few teeth onto the ground.

He looked up at her, giving her a sadistic and cocky smile despite the missing teeth, as he staggered back to his feet and puffed out his chest.

"You really are useless... You are willing to throw away an entire raid, because your friend got killed. And doing it in front of a stream watched by thousands too? You really are stupid. She was casting the basic mana bolt every time, even the worst mage here has more spells than that.

She deserved to die for the rest of us, and so do you. Useless bitch. Why don’t you just do us all a favour and get yourself killed. We could do without the burden of having to carry a dead weight like you."

Rage filled Belladonna’s entire being for a second, it boiled inside of her. But instead of exploding outwards, it rapidly simmered down as she gained a sadistic, shark toothed smile of her own.

Her hand dipped into a pouch on her belt, as she said sweetly,

"Very well... I think I’ll just do exactly that. You are the boss, after all."

Her voice was overflowing with fake innocence, which the commander could easily see through. So when she sprinted forwards, he was already slicing his sword towards her neck.

In that moment, Belladonna poured mana into her eyes in a way she had never done before, not intentionally at least. There was a strange sensation that had happened with her twice before.

Once with the spiked wolf and again with the Ardent Bear. So this time, she forced it to happen. Just before the sword could take her neck, the crimson of her eyes flashed brighter.

The Commander, who had made the mistake of looking into those eyes, froze up completely. It was only for a second, but that was more than enough time.

In that second, Belladonna had grabbed his arm and wrenched it to the side, before leaping into the air and wrapping her legs around his head. She spun around him, using her momentum to flip him to the ground.

By the time he came to, he was already being held tight in a triangle hold, as she made rapid movements with her hands before thrusting one into the air.

"Navash Ivin Ro’kum, Sagni!"

A fireball leapt from her outstretched hand and exploded against the body of the colossal boss towering above them. The Commander’s face paled completely, but Belladonna just tightened the hold as he tried to escape.

"Why don’t you die with me!" She said with a manic laugh, as Fahven Bu’uls foot crushed the pair of them into meat paste.
