VRMMO: World's First Glyphborne-Chapter 62: Born Again!
When Belladonna rose from the blood pool, once more in the classic noob clothing, she still had a wicked smirk on her face. Vestra was pacing around the pool, anxiously gnawing at her fingernails as the mist that made up her hair billowed erratically.
At the sight of her friend, her anxiety was quickly relieved, only to then be replaced by a look of disappointment a moment later. However she didn’t get time to steep in her misery, as Belladonna leapt from the blood point and scooped Vestra into her arms in a princess carry
"Wh-wh-what are you...." Vestra blushed deeply and stammered, flushed with a whole new wave of anxiety. But that didn’t last long, as Belladonna switched her from a princess carry and unceremoniously threw her over her shoulder like a potato sack before sprinting out of the spawn room.
Vestra’s head swam from the emotional whiplash she was forced to endure in just a few seconds and she could barely process what was going on never mind how she was supposed to react.
"Where is she? WHERE THE HELL IS SHE?!" A shrill screech came from the mausoleum behind them, before Vestra saw the streamer known as ’Supreme Commander’ burst out of the spawn room, whipping his head around with a beet red face. Even as they retreated into the distance, Vestra could see the veins bulging and pulsating on his neck.
"What did you do?"
"Something stupid, maybe..." Belladonna admitted, before cackled menacingly at the memory, "But totally worth it for the look on his stupid face. If he wants to sacrifice us for being useless, then he deserved to die too for being a shit leader."
Vestra bit her lip, her mind already starting to imagine all the things that could go wrong - even the things that were completely ridiculous and dreadfully unlikely to happen - but when she glanced at the ridiculous face the streamer was making, she couldn’t help but let out some soft laughs of her own.
The two girls ran through the town, heading straight into the forest and heading towards the dungeon, laughing all the way.

Belladonna eventually put her friend down once they were far enough away from the town. It wasn’t because she was too heavy, in fact Vestra was so small and delicate that she was like an adorable, porcelain doll in her arms.
It was simply because, By that point, she was sure that they weren’t being followed and it was getting a little awkward to carry her when they didn’t need it. It made her feel like she was some ogre kidnapping a princess.
Also, Beans was starting to get annoyed he was having to share her shoulder, and ended up sitting on top of Vestra’s head like it was some perch. Only when Vestra was on the ground, did he finally stop using her as his stool and return to Belladonna’s shoulder.
"I can’t believe you stole from him! Wasn’t killing him enough?" Vestra asked with a laugh, her eyes occasionally darting to Beans, who was idly licking his paws on Belladonna’s shoulder, as Vestra’s body was filled with the urge to pet the fluff.
"Haha, Yeah. Just swiped it off his waist before we got crushed. I don’t even know what I took, or even if it’s going to be with my stuff when we get there. It’s like a mini mystery box."
Although they arrived at the site of the dungeon before the ’Supreme Commander’, they lurked in the forest nearby doing a small bit of grinding to pass the time, although nothing intensive as they didn’t have any equipment at the moment, as well as took turns guarding the other while they logged out to refresh.
After roughly twenty minutes of waiting, when they saw the streamer and his cronies take another unfortunate group of sacrifices into the dungeon, they finally left the forest and headed into the clearing.
They immediately dashed over to the Brownie’s little statue and before they could say so much as a word, their bodies appeared in front of them with all of their gear still equipped.
The bodies immediately melted into a torrent of blood at the first touch, as the liquid flowed into them and restored their original strength. After their death, it was a 30% set back in terms of stats, but left levels and skills alone. Not a crippling set back, but if they were unable to recover their bodies it would have left them permanently behind everyone else of their own level in terms of stats.
It was no wonder grave keepers became such a popular side hustle for many players.
"Oh... You got your stuff back? I thought that guy was lying but not like this..." A voice muttered from behind them as they were in the middle of pulling on their equipment and armour.
Belladonna whirled around, brandishing her dagger, only to stop when she saw the slightly shocked face of the kind druid who had helped her out with the game terms.
"Oh, hey there." She said with a bashful smile, putting her dagger away and going back to tightening up her armour.
"Did you die too? Did I cause the party to wipe?"
She couldn’t help but feel a twinge of regret and guilt. As much as she loved dealing vengeance on that asshole, she was also aware of the fact she could have easily ruined the dungeon run for plenty of innocents too.
A realisation that only came after the fact, when she had calmed down. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
"Ah, No. We managed to scrape through. We were a bit disorganised after your... ahem, Incident. But the second in command managed to take over when the cat stopped clawing up his face and we beat the boss.
I... Uh, I decided I wanted to run it a few more times. To get some more XP, you know?" He said with a bashful laugh, rubbing the back of his head as he averted his eyes away from the girls as they were getting dressed.
In reality he had mainly come back because he felt bad about the girls dying like sacrificial lambs and, after Belladonna’s outburst, he wanted to make sure that the grave keeper he hired didn’t try to pull anything funny.
But when he found the guy claiming to not have the bodies, despite him watching them die, the Druid had gotten into a slight shouting match with him, that involved some colourful language and name calling, which might have devolved into a little bit of fisticuffs.
He was about to simply give up, with the hopes that this wouldn’t ruin their game experience, when he noticed the two girls.
