Bella Acker hesitated for a moment before taking out her phone. The caller ID showed it was Sandra Woods.

She took a deep breath before answering, "Hello, Shannon."

"Bella, I got the role of Iris!" Sandra’s excited voice came through the phone. "Are you free now? I’ll treat you to dinner."

"Sure, that’s great. I’m outside anyway."

"Where are you? I’ll come find you." Besides Sandra’s voice, the sound of keys jingling could be heard in the background, indicating she was already getting ready to head out.

"I’m right at the west entrance of Solis Park."

"Alright, wait for me there. I’ll be there soon."

After hanging up, Bella Acker sat on the stone bench at the park entrance, zoning out.

In no time, a white MINI stopped across the road, "Bella, get in."

Bella was in a daze for a moment, then crossed the road with her backpack. Sandra had already opened the front passenger door for her.

"Why did you park here? You’ll get fined." Bella quickly got in the car.

"It’s fine for a moment," Sandra started the car, saying, "What do you want to eat? Has your stomach ache gotten better?"

"Yeah." Bella nodded.

"Feeling down?" Sandra noticed her red, slightly swollen eyes. "What’s wrong? Did something upset you?"

"No, it’s just I’m feeling a bit down." Bella said, "Shannon, take me to KFC. I want to have KFC."

"Why do you want to eat that stuff?" Sandra, trying to lighten the mood, pretended to be disdainful, "Even kids are picky about that stuff now."

"I just want to eat it." Bella pouted.

"Okay, okay, stop acting cute with me. I’m really afraid of you." Sandra gave in helplessly and ended up taking her to the nearest KFC.

It was lunchtime, and the place was quite crowded. Bella spent quite some time finding a two-seater by the window.

Sandra took off her backpack, "You hold the table; I’ll go buy the food. What do you want?"

"Grilled wings! Burger!"

"Eat. If it’s not enough, I’ll get more for you," Sandra said. "I had thought if you couldn’t decide, I’d take you for Thai food. Coming here really saved me money."

Bella smiled a bit, picked up the burger, unwrapped it, but didn’t feel like eating.

"Why aren’t you eating?" Sandra asked.
