Warm Married Life: Mr. President Loves His Darling Wife-Chapter 228 - 227: Sweetness (14)
Bella Acker said earlier she wasn’t sleepy, but now she’s nestled in Damian Sinclair’s arms and fast asleep.
Meanwhile, Damian held her in the dark with wide open eyes, not sleepy at all.
He’d already made up his mind. No matter what Bella said, he couldn’t possibly let her go!
But Bella came back by herself and resolved the misunderstandings between them. Does that mean what happened before is in the past?
No, it does not!
The pain in her heart still lingered. And that pain stemmed from her insecurity and lack of confidence. If this issue isn’t resolved, they will continue to face more misunderstandings in the future. Should they argue every time it happens?
In the dim light, Damian looked down at Bella, his mind already made up.
Early the next morning, before it was fully light outside, Bella hazily felt herself being lifted.
"Damian?" Her eyes weren’t fully open, and she turned her head in muddled confusion to look at him.
"Yes." Damian replied and brought over clothes to help her dress.
Bella wasn’t fully awake yet, squinting as she turned her head to look out the window, realizing it was still dark, "Damian, why are we up so early?"
She wasn’t fully aware and thought they were in the villa.
"Aren’t you going to Mount Sterling?" Damian put a sweater on her and then helped her with a jacket, clearly skilled from doing it many times before.
"Ah!" Bella’s head finally cleared, and she quickly got out of bed, starting to dress herself, "Damian, why didn’t you wake me earlier? If we leave late, the road to Mount Sterling will be blocked with traffic."
He didn’t wake her, and she was sleepier than a little pig, totally unresponsive.
Damian sighed, "Go and get ready for breakfast."
Bella dashed into the restroom, and when she emerged, Damian was already sitting at the dining table, sipping coffee and flipping through a newspaper.
"Damian, let’s head out now, if we’re any later, we’ll hit traffic." Bella walked over, picked up her milk, and drank it in gulps.
Damian put down the newspaper and pulled her hand to have her sit beside him, "Don’t worry about the time, eat breakfast first."
"Oh." Bella thought about having to rush back to the set after going to Mount Sterling and felt pressed for time, but she couldn’t remember Ms. Cheney’s phone number to ask if she had gotten her time off.
Damian seemed to sense her concern, peeled a hard-boiled egg, and placed it in her bowl, saying, "I’ve called Director Ford already."
"Oh? You got me the time off?" Bella bit into the egg and looked up at him.
Damian said nothing, "Eat slowly, you’ll choke."
"Cough cough..." Bella indeed choked on the yolk and, having finished her milk, could only grab Damian’s coffee and take two gulps, wrinkling her nose, "So bitter. Damian, why don’t you add milk and sugar?"
He hadn’t expected her to finish all her milk and then drink his coffee.
Bella stuck out her tongue at the bitterness, and Damian went to pour her a cup of warm water, "There’s no hot milk left, you’ll have to drink this."
No wonder the milk was warm and comforting for her stomach; Damian must have heated it up for her.
Bella felt a surge of happiness, "Damian, when did you wake up?"
He actually got up to prepare breakfast and she hadn’t noticed at all.
"Didn’t sleep." Damian took a sip of coffee and rose to leave the dining room.
Bella quickly finished her breakfast and followed him out.
