Chapter 25: Chapter 24: Find the Truth Yourself

Seeing Bella Acker looking so dazed, Sandra Woods found it amusing.

The tiniest trace of jealousy in her heart vanished completely.

She genuinely preferred the role of Iris, and had asked her senior for this favor. Now that Bea landed the role of Hera, she should be happy for her.

Thinking this, Sandra extended her hand to hook Bella’s arm, saying, "Come on. Let me treat you to a big meal to celebrate."

"Why should you treat me? I should treat you."

Bella’s mood finally improved a little, and after having Korean food with Sandra, she declined Sandra’s offer to drive her back, and took a taxi back to the villa herself.

The servants saw Bella return and paused their work to greet her, "Ms. Acker, you’re back."

"Yes." Bella nodded with a smile, "Why are you still cleaning so late?"

"We heard Ms. Bea is coming back, so we..." One of the servants, who had worked at the villa for a while, said promptly, but then stopped herself and changed the topic, remembering Bella’s current status, "Ms. Acker, Mr. Sinclair is attending a cocktail party tonight and might not return. What would you like to eat? I’ll have Ms. Jennings prepare it for you."

Is Ms. Bea the Bea that Cecilia mentioned? Is she really coming back? And even to this villa?

Bella shook her head, "No need, you all keep busy. I’ve eaten out." Saying that, she headed to the third floor.

Back in her bedroom, Bella threw herself onto the bed.

Even the servants at the villa knew she was just a replacement. Only she, like a fool, basked in self-satisfaction, naively thinking that Damian Sinclair’s indulgence meant he truly liked her.

He was such an unrivaled man, like an emperor, how could he possibly truly have feelings for a plain, unaccomplished little duckling like her?

"Bella, why are you so foolish! So foolish!" Bella struck her head with her small fists, realizing she was already sobbing uncontrollably.

The more she thought about it, the sadder she became, burying her head into the soft blankets, crying until she was out of breath.

In a single day, she’d lose the two people she loved the most.

She didn’t know how long she cried until she was gasping for air, then she sat alone in the bedroom until late at night.

As expected, Damian did not return, and because he disliked too much activity in the villa, all the helpers except for Mrs. Jennings, who cooked, went home at night.

Bella thought for a while, opened the bedroom door, and went to the second floor of the villa.

When she first moved into the villa, Damian warned her not to step onto the second floor.

At the time, she was very afraid of Damian and naturally did not dare to disobey him. Over time, she became accustomed to staying on the first and third floors, assuming the second floor was where Damian did his important work and did not think much of it.

Now the truth was laid bare, and she could no longer deceive herself.

Bella walked to the main bedroom door on the second floor, recalling what Cecilia had said.

"If you don’t believe it, you can go back to the villa and see the main bedroom and study on the second floor."

Go ahead, maybe it’ll help her give up completely.

With a mixture of anxiety and sadness, Bella pressed her lips tightly together and opened the door to the second floor’s main bedroom.

The door wasn’t locked; Bella pushed it open as though opening a shocking secret, making it difficult for her to even breathe.

She took a couple of deep breaths before stepping into the room.
