Warm Married Life: Mr. President Loves His Darling Wife-Chapter 28 - 27: Going to the Company to Find Damian
After the director’s assistant finished giving instructions, he asked, "Did anyone not understand anything?"
"No. Thank you."
"Well, that’s all for today. You can go back and rest now, you’ve worked hard." The director’s assistant smiled, nodded, and turned to greet others.
Bella Acker and Sandra Woods finally took their respective scripts and left the studio.
Once outside, Sandra let out a sigh of relief and said, "I’ve long heard that filming is like going to the front lines in a battle—busy and tense. Today I experienced it firsthand and now understand what veterans have been saying. My senior told me that sometimes filming is so rushed, actors might rest less than two or three hours a day, working nonstop like mules, only able to relax once filming wraps up." 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
After Sandra spoke, she noticed the person beside her didn’t respond at all, prompting her to turn her head. That’s when she realized the person was lost in thought, completely oblivious to what she was saying.
"Bella, are you unwell? Do you need to go to the hospital?"
"Huh?" Bella Acker snapped back to reality. "I’m fine, just a bit sleep-deprived. A good nap will solve it."
"Alright, don’t push yourself too hard." Sandra looked at her wristwatch and said, "It’s almost noon, where should we eat?"
"No...no, thank you." Bella shook her head. "I’ve already arranged to meet someone for lunch."
"Meet someone? Your boyfriend?" Sandra teased with a mischievous smile. "Putting romance over friendship. Fine, go on your date. The weather’s nice today, I’ll head to my mom’s for lunch."
"Shannon, I’m sorry. I’ll treat you to a meal next time." Bella apologized.
"That’s settled, next meal I’ll make sure to treat you to something expensive."
They exchanged a few more words, and Sandra drove off on her own. Bella declined her offer to give her a ride, opting to take a taxi herself.
Bella got into the taxi, "Driver, please go to Rexton Tower." Since Damian hasn’t returned to the villa, she’ll go find him at the company. She needs to ask, otherwise, she won’t be able to move on.
The taxi driver started the car and pressed the meter.
Rexton Tower is located in the city center of Creston, an extremely expensive prime location. The entire building from the seventh to twentieth floors belongs entirely to Damian Sinclair’s company. Not rented, but bought.
She and Damian are secret lovers; aside from a few people, nobody knows about their relationship. This was always Damian’s request—he doesn’t want others to know about this relationship.
Who knows if Damian will be angry once he realizes she’s come to the office to find him.
The taxi stopped outside the plaza of Rexton Tower, Bella paid and got out, looking up at the high-rise building, gathering the courage to walk in.
Damian’s office is on the twentieth floor. Once Bella entered the elevator, she pressed the button for the twentieth floor, tensely watching the elevator doors close as the red arrow ascended floor by floor.
It was noon, and the staff were out for lunch. When Bella reached the twentieth floor, she didn’t see Damian’s secretaries or assistants, allowing her to breathe easier.
"Everyone’s gone for lunch, wonder if Damian’s had lunch too." Bella craned her neck for a look and quietly muttered to herself, then proceeded toward Damian’s office.
Damian’s office is at the far end, with the assistants’ and secretaries’ workstations outside. Bella had just entered when she heard someone laughing and talking inside, heading toward her. She instinctively crouched down, hiding behind the cubicle desks and cautiously peeking out.
Just one look left her completely frozen.
