What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?-Chapter 565: Meeting The Pirates
Chapter 565: Meeting The Pirates
"There it is... Can we do a scan of the planet?" I asked as the frozen planet that the pirates had established their base on came into view.
In the end, we decided to see what the pirates want from us anyway though we would be going in prepared to level the place if we have to of course.
"Scanning now~ " Amber reported cheerfully from the map terminal.
I waited as she activated our ship’s scanners to do a scan of the planet, the scan showing some basic information on the planet’s surface which would tell us the surface temperature and atmosphere of the planet.
Hmm... Surface temperature of negative two hundred and twenty degrees... And definitely no breathable air down there... We’re going to need to use space suits if we want to walk on the surface...
Right as I was about to look for the pirate’s base a warning came from my console notifying me about ships approaching us.
Lea was already activating our ship’s weapon systems to point the guns in their direction though it was just as a precaution for now.
The two ships turned out to be two B Class Heavy Fighters that came from the dark side of the planet and they were obviously pirates.
"Captain, they are hailing us," Mara reported.
I nodded and a screen appeared to show a helmeted pirate which made me think that the helmet was some kind of uniform that they all wore.
"You the people boss wanted to see?" He asked.
"I suppose so, yeah."
"Follow us then," He ordered before shutting off the call.
The two ships spun around and started flying in the direction that they had appeared from, prompting us to turn our ship to fly after them.
"Are we headed towards their base?" I asked, directing the question behind me.
Amber tapped on the map terminal, "Hmm... The direction we’re flying in does match up to the coordinates of their base so I would assume so."
Well, at least that eliminates the probability that they were just luring us to some random place to kill us.
Of course, I’m not naive enough to think that they won’t kill us at their base but this shows at least some truthfulness to their words.
We made the descent onto the planet’s surface and we were immediately greeted by a world of ice where everything was frozen.
There wasn’t any snow at all, it was just solid ice for as far as the eye can see that made up the land and hills all around the planet’s surface.
The two pirate ships angled themselves and started to descend towards the surface, aiming directly at the large mountain up ahead.
"Amber?" I called out.
She knew what I wanted to know and answered immediately, "Looks like the coordinates match up, Tera. That’s where the research station is supposed to be alright."
"Hmm... Out of curiosity... How thick is the ice below?"
Ries turned back from her pilot seat, "Thick enough to land our ship if that’s what you’re asking Boss~"
That’s what I wanted to know, thanks~
I had asked that in anticipation of needing to land on the planet’s surface but it turns out we didn’t even need to worry in the first place because a part of the mountain’s side opened up, revealing a hangar large enough to accommodate our ship.
I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised since they did show up with a C Class Corvette to send us that invitation, so they would need somewhere to land the ship in the first place.
The mountain itself was also pretty huge and it looked like while most of it was also encased in ice, some parts were not.
A quick scan of the mountain revealed that those parts that were not frozen hid automated turrets that would pop out and fire at intruders should they be activated.
Well... That’s not good for us in the event we have to run away from here...
I guess if we did have to run away, I would need to find a way to disable them first.
We followed behind the two pirate ships into the hangar and they guided our ship to a specific landing pad where the rest of their C class ships were kept.
The good thing was that I noticed an atmospheric shield on the hangar which meant that this base had its own life support system online so a space suit was not necessary.
As we came in for a landing, I could see a crowd already moving to gather around the landing pad, no doubt the pirates were all curious about who we were that their boss would invite us here.
I turned to my girls, "Ready?"
All of them nodded.
We went to prepare ourselves for disembarkation, my girls going to equip themselves while I slipped into the power armour with Ries assisting me.
Since I was expecting to fight against a crowd, I got Ries to arm me with the shoulder mounted variable mortar and the missile pods alongside the miniguns and shotguns on my arms.
Additionally, she also added in a shield pack on my back which would boost my shields but lower my speed which was fine since I expect myself to be tanking for Lea and Ries should it come down to a fight.
We met up at the back of the cargo bay where a platform would lower down to act as a lift in and out of the ship.
Ries tapped on her personal terminal, "Setting all drones to security mode, anyone else that tries to come aboard will be shot on the spot."
Perfect.
The lift lowered us down onto the landing pad and we found ourselves being watched by an entire sea of pirates, all of them giving us unfriendly looks.
Most of them were wearing casual clothes though all of them were visibly armed with a few of them wearing that black armour that we saw on the pirates that tried to board us the first time.
There was a single group that was standing apart from the crowd and I’m guessing these guys must be assigned as our guides or something.
We stepped off the platform and let the platform lift itself back up into the ship.
The group approached us and I thought they might say something about us being so heavily armed and even demand that we disarm before stepping further into their base.
But surprisingly, they barely said anything and the leader of the group simply looked at each of us in turn before asking, "Who is the leader?"
My girls stepped aside to allow me to move to the front of our group, the Power Armour I was wearing making me tower over everyone here.
The leader, a light skinned, muscular bearded man with his hair tied up in a ponytail looked up at me with narrowed eyes.
"I don’t suppose I can convince you to step out of that Power Armour?" He asked.
"Not a chance," I responded immediately.
He didn’t even try to convince me and just nodded before beckoning to us, "Follow us then. Do know that if any of you try anything or even lift your weapons, we would take it as a threat and we will not hesitate to shoot you."
"And I will give you the same warning as well. If anyone here tries to point their weapon in our direction, we will also open fire. Also, you might want to let your people know that we have our security set on our ship to kill anyone that isn’t part of our crew if they step inside."
Did I just threaten this pirate while being outnumbered more than ten to one? I most definitely did.
He stared into my visor without showing any surprise at my threat before slowly nodding once, "I will make sure the others know of it."
He then turned and started leading the way, the sea of people parting for him to walk through while we followed behind him.
The other pirates watched us walk past them and while most of them were simply sizing us up, there were a number of them who were openly staring at us with obviously impure intentions in mind.
A few of them even made lewd gestures to their friends and they laughed alongside them while they ogled my girls following behind me.
Just saying... Not all of them were guys as there were a few females mixed in the crowd as well and they were also making lewd gestures too...
We stepped out of the hangar and into a corridor and I will be the first to admit that I was surprised to find it clean and tidy instead of being filled with rubbish and graffiti everywhere.
I mean... That’s what you might expect to find in a pirate base right? Especially since the last few pirate bases I stormed were pretty much like that.
Our walk to their leader was completely silent where the only sound was our footsteps echoing around the corridor, neither ourselves nor the pirates attempting to break the silence.
After a couple of turns, we finally reached a heavily armoured door and our guide went up to the console to scan something on it to open the door.
He then stepped inside and all of us followed him in, the door closing shut behind us as we did so.
The room we entered looked like some kind of audience chamber and seated on what looked like the throne was their leader, who was using a Power Armour at least two times my size.
Damn... He’s huge...
