In an instant, the name [Undead Town Outside the City] appeared before everyone's eyes.

Hevi scanned the Undead Town Outside the City, then looked up at the magnificent bridge above him, and the "fortress" connected by the bridge.

"According to that man filled with negative energy, this place is called the Undead Town Outside the City, and opposite the bridge is the Undead Church. One of the bells to ring is atop the church."

He gazed at the distant Ancient City that seemed inconspicuous under the cover of the Undead Church, frowned, and muttered to himself:

"Then, what is that ancient building over there?"

It felt eerie over there, as if countless unjust souls who died in vain were roaring, gathering a super-heavy resentment.

For some reason, Hevi suddenly shivered, his intuition telling him that Ancient City was definitely not a good place. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

"If I could choose, I really wouldn't want to go there."

"What's the matter, Hevi, scared? Wahahaha, if you're scared, you should just give me the captain's spot!"

"Come on, let's go, this town looks easy to explore, right? We need to take the lead and be the first to return!"

Hevi's hesitation seemed like fear in the eyes of the other Starfire Knights. After all, what haven't they seen along the way? Would they still be scared by the sight of the Undead Town Outside the City?

Impossible!

Spurred on by the newly excited Starfire Knights, the group noisily charged into the interior of the Undead Town Outside the City, officially confronting this fortress-like town.

As soon as they entered, they were greeted by a quite enthusiastic welcoming ceremony.

Organized Living Dead Soldiers jumped out from every nook and cranny, rushing enthusiastically towards them.

It was evident that these animated corpses were once well-trained soldiers, as even in their reduced intelligence form, their combat coordination was impressive.

Those with shields ran ahead blocking attacks, while those holding weapons and Flame Pots stood in the middle throwing them. Once the Starfire Knights approached, they turned to run without hesitation. At the back, archers bent their bows and loosed arrows entangled with flames.

Moreover, these archers were the most powerful soldiers. As the Starfire Knights approached, they would instantly fire any remaining Burning Arrows, and within less than a second, draw out a large knife to slash at the enemy's head.

If approaching Starfire Knights neither carried a shield nor were alerted to such actions, they would be hit at least by either the arrow or the knife.

Some unsuspecting individuals could even take full damage.

"Indeed, the monsters of Sain Dungeon have grown stronger," Hevi said while throwing a Giant Thunder Spear.

He had just seen an animated corpse soldier run towards an attacked companion to help!

Although it ultimately perished at the hands of the more skilled Starfire Knights, this scene of aiding comrades was unprecedented among animated corpse soldiers, a type of monster.

Their intelligence had elevated!

Just then, a scream emanated from nearby, as a Starfire Knight employed a sprint-type Combat Skill against a Living Dead Soldier, only to realize that behind it was a concealed cliff. The Starfire Knight plunged straight down.

The Starfire Knight fell out of this world.

"Hey, was that animated corpse just laughing?" Todd pinched his cheek in disbelief. He swore that the Living Dead Soldier shared a smile with the falling Starfire Knight.

"You didn't see wrong..."

Hevi bit his lip, shocked, but that brief surprise quickly filled with the joy of discovering something new!

"These guys' intelligence indeed has risen!"

The place where the Starfire Knight fell off couldn't be noticed unless examined closely; it was flanked by the Undead Town's buildings, piled with wooden crates and such, who knew why it was suspended behind the crates.

The animated corpse soldier not only exploited the suspended trap but also selected its target, as only that Starfire Knight liked to dash around using Combat Skills.

It was a deliberate act by the Living Dead Soldier.

Hevi immediately shared this discovery with everyone. Upon hearing this, the others... displayed excitement similar to his own.

Just like suddenly discovering an old game they often played had updated enemy AI, both challenge and fun surged instantly.

The group of a few dozen Living Dead Soldiers was quickly dispatched, and the Starfire Knights continued forward after cleaning the battlefield.

The most valuable items on the Living Dead Soldiers were probably the various small randomly dropped items, like Flame Pots, Green Flower Grass, and Wedge Stone Fragments. Their weapons were unremarkable.

The deeper they ventured into the Undead Town Outside the City, the more intelligent the Living Dead Soldiers seemed, with surprise attacks, ambushes, feints, and enemy luring—all sorts of tactics in use.

Sometimes the Starfire Knights enjoyed predicting from which next location monsters would appear.

"I guess it's behind the front corner."

"I think it's hanging below the cliff nearby."

"Why can't they descend from the sky?"

After guessing for a while and walking over, they'd find enemies jumping out from the corner, below the cliff, and above, even an additional one ambushed under the loose floor tiles on the ground.
