Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon?-Chapter 1151 - 747: Temporary Curse_2
The ghosts in the Sain Dungeon can't be attacked without using a Temporary Curse, which seems to be close to some sort of rule.
Based on years of experience analyzing monsters, it's impossible for a Low Tier monster to have rule-type abilities; that would be too much of a cheat.
There must be some way to attack ghosts without relying on a Temporary Curse. It's just that it hasn't been discovered yet. Perhaps when Anleisi or someone else figures out what the so-called curse really is, this method can be explored.
She chooses to believe in human wisdom.
Unfortunately, even after they ran back to the Fire Transmission Ceremony, Anleisi still couldn't make sense of the Temporary Curse; the curse itself left her perplexed.
But that doesn't matter anymore, because the moment they stepped into the Fire Transmission Ceremony, everyone's attention shifted from the Temporary Curse or the Little Londo Ruins to a doorframe standing by the bonfire.
Reflected within the frameless door was the night scene of Hepa Town. The bright moonlight overlapped with the nightscape of the Fire Transmission Ceremony, creating a wonderful feeling.
"How did this Teleportation Gate appear!?"
The Holy Light Knights were extremely shocked. If it weren't for sensing that it was a real, authentic Teleportation Gate, they would have thought they were still trapped in an illusion.
This is a gate that leads out!
"So that's it, the Sain Dungeon has hidden the Teleportation Gate leading to the outside... What could the trigger be, lighting other bonfires?"
No matter what Anleisi was guessing right now, the next thing to do was already quite clear.
"Everyone get out! No, I'll go out first, you stay here on standby!"
She cast several defensive magic spells on herself, put on a layer of Magic Shield, and then jumped through the Teleportation Gate.
After a while, the pendant around Kaius's neck shook a few times. He nodded and said, "It's safe outside, let's go out."
Anleisi went out first to check if the outside was safe, and then informed everyone to make the decision. I have to admit, to dare use this method requires a great deal of courage.
The pendant is a little gadget she uses to communicate with Kaius. The usage is simple: one vibration means trouble, two means no problem. It can't convey specific information, but fortunately, it has a long communication range, allowing the other party in the dungeon to receive the message.
"Let's go out! I never want to come back!"
"Home, home! I promised to go back today to record a birthday greeting for my child and send it back."
"The Sain Dungeon is indeed as terrible as the Church said. If I were chosen to explore here, I'd rather go out and fight the Starfire Church."
"Me too, me too."
The moment they saw the path leading out, the Holy Light Knights all relaxed. Finally able to leave this nerve-wracking place, except for the safety of the Fire Transmission Ceremony, everyone felt happy.
As others walked ahead, Kaius stayed behind. Once everyone was out, he turned around to survey the Fire Transmission Ceremony.
Nothing seemed worth taking back, and Discouragement Brother was still sitting on the steps, looking down and feeling emo, while the bonfire quietly burned.
Okay, we can go out.
Just as he turned around and stepped halfway into the Teleportation Gate, the pendant around his neck suddenly began to tremble.
It vibrated once.
"!"
Being on alert didn't help because by the time the pendant trembled, half of his body had passed through the Teleportation Gate, and the next second he was directly transmitted outside.
What's going on, is there danger outside again!?
While being transmitted, he drew his weapon. The moment he arrived outside, even before opening his eyes, he smelled the scent of battle, and familiar sounds rang in his ears.
"Throw the net, catch them alive!"
It was that bastard Hevi shouting!
Kaius's forehead veins bulged as he opened his eyes to see a giant net falling from the sky, descending towards him as if it had a life of its own.
With a flick of his wrist, he unleashed the Three-blade Style again. Blade Qi, in multiples of three, burst from all sides, slicing the solid net into tatters.
The net's fragments fell like snow, and only then did he take in the scene of Hepa Town.
"Clang clang clang—" The sound of battle was endless, bright sparks from clashing weapons flickered throughout the night.
The battlefield could only be described as riddled with war.
The Holy Light Knights squad who came out first were fighting... against enemies many times their number!
The true identity of these enemies, without a doubt, was the allied forces composed of various churches' armies, known by the Holy Light Church as the rebels!
Just within Hepa Town were many soldiers from the coalition of different church forces. Each Holy Light Knight had to deal with four or five soldiers and one knight on average.
And outside Hepa Town, an advancing serpentine line of fire symbolized more rebels continuously arriving for reinforcements.
Given this hopeless numerical disparity, this Holy Light Knights squad was doomed to fail, even though each one of them was elite.
The knights from smaller churches might be slightly inferior in quality, but their sheer numbers made up for this difference, not to mention that among these enemies were also mingled...
"Release the Thunder Spears!" 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Hevi's voice came from an unknown direction, heard but unseen. When his voice rang, a crackling sound followed, and Thunder Spears imbued with the power of sunlight shot across the night sky, targeting the entangled Holy Light Knights.
Compared to the soldiers close by, these Thunder Spears posed the greatest threat to the Holy Light Knights!
Under such lacking conditions, the quality of the Starfire Knights was practically on par with the Holy Light Knights!
The hidden Starfire Knights, lurking somewhere, were their most severe opponents!
"Boom boom boom!"
Some Thunder Spears landed on the Holy Light Knights, others on the ground, all emitting violent explosions. Multiple cries of pain arose, indistinct in their source.
The scene was chaotic; lights of various colors erupted under the night sky.
"Hevi!"
Witnessing this scene, Kaius roared in anger.
Hevi, this guy, was their old adversary.
The two sides had clashed multiple times on the battlefield, with each encounter leading to protracted battles. Systematically, every fight ended in a draw, with Hevi charging in with his formidable Suffocating Dragon Tooth, infuriating Anleisi and Kaius before fleeing, thereby prolonging the overall conflict into a protracted stalemate.
For the Holy Light Church, achieving a draw with the Starfire Church was as good as a loss!
Each day they failed to capture the area was a day of defeat for them!
Fortunately, the smaller churches recently faced issues of insufficient supplies and manpower due to the prolonged conflict. The Holy Light Church had gradually taken the upper hand. They even managed to injure Hevi and capture their flag the other night, and, with the Magic Sky Curtain powered by the impending arrival of the Dark Moon Church, everything seemed to be heading in the right direction.
However, when discussing major events, one should tell the story from a macro perspective, but when discussing oneself, one should focus on the micro perspective.
From a macro perspective, the Holy Light Church appeared to be nearing victory.
But at the current scene in Hepa Town, Kaius and his group were likely to be captured by so many people.
Being captured by these barbarians... the Holy Light Knights dared not imagine the treatment they would receive!
It might feel more repugnant than being soaked in Fran Fort for seven days and nights! They firmly believed that the Starfire Church was capable of such acts.
Kaius scanned the area but couldn't find the hidden Hevi. He only spotted Anleisi, who, with an unstoppable demeanor, was sweeping across the field to aid allied forces, though the enemy's endless stream rendered victory almost invisible.
Kaius contemplated whether to manually put Anleisi to sleep, then lead everyone to break through the encirclement, when suddenly she spoke.
"Hevi, you bastard, don't get cocky. The Magic Sky Curtain is coming to wipe you all out!"
"You mean the Dark Moon Church?"
Hevi's voice carried a mocking tone as he replied:
"You won't be waiting for them."
"What?" Anleisi's head bore a question mark.
"Because another group of Dark Moon has intercepted them!"
