You're Just My Ex-Husband,My Lord-Chapter 123- the final step
Lilian’s heart began racing wildly again as he drew closer. She couldn’t tell whether it was due to nerves or because he was teasing her. It took all her effort to finally speak:
"If... if you agree, we’ll keep it a secret and not let him find out."
Her brother would never approve of her dating Morrison. Although her brother always wore a stoic expression and had a sharp tongue, he was genuinely caring and protective of her.
If he discovered she was involved with Morrison, he would probably lose it. Even though Morrison was his good friend, that wouldn’t make it acceptable.
So, her brother couldn’t find out.
Not just him—her mother, her father, her lord—not a single person would approve. Which meant that if Morrison agreed, their relationship would have to be a *secret*.
A clandestine affair.
Standing in front of Morrison, Lilian kept her head low, anxious and too nervous to look at him. She had no idea that because of their height difference—and the loose neckline of her T-shirt—the view from her collar had already been thoroughly exposed.
Even the color of her underwear was crystal clear.
Morrison quietly shifted his gaze away from her neckline and asked again,
"Why do you want to date? And why me, specifically?"
Lilian had prepared for this question. She figured anyone would ask why if she suddenly approached them about dating. Summoning her courage, she finally dared to lift her eyes and meet his.
"Because you’re handsome!"
"As for why I want to date you... it’s because I’ve never been in a relationship, and I want to learn how it works from you..."
She was lying about the last part, though. Feeling guilty, she quickly dropped her gaze again.
She couldn’t possibly tell the truth. She couldn’t say, "I just want to have some fun with you." If she did, she’d probably be thrown out of the door on the spot.
After Lilian finished speaking, Morrison stared at her thoughtfully for a long moment before lazily opening his mouth,
"I like to start teaching from the final step."
Curious, Lilian lifted her eyes to ask,
"What’s the final step?"
With a sly smile, Morrison threw two words her way:
"Sleeping together."
Lilian’s face turned bright red in an instant.
"I’ll teach you how to judge a man’s skills in bed because that determines your happiness and, well, your satisfaction in the latter half of your life..."
As Morrison spoke, he bent down, leaning closer to her, his warm breath brushing against her petite ear.
Frightened, Lilian took a step back.
"Then I don’t want to learn anymore!"
She turned on her heels and bolted.
What kind of ridiculous joke was this? All she wanted was to date someone, and he was already talking about sleeping together.
Just as she reached the door, Morrison caught up, grabbing her and pulling her back into his arms.
"I’m already in teaching mode. Even if you don’t want to learn, you still need to pay a little tuition."
Trapped in his arms, unable to break free, Lilian could only glare at him and ask,
"When did you enter teaching mode? And how much do you want?"
Morrison didn’t respond with words. Instead, his large hand held her head in place as he leaned down and kissed her.
The kiss started gently but quickly deepened, his lips and tongue exploring hers without restraint. From teasing nibbles to fierce devotion, he made sure she felt it all. Her body gradually weakened in his embrace, and as his breathing grew heavier, he pressed her waist tightly against him to ease the growing tension within.
Finally, he pulled back, his fingers brushing her lips in a lingering caress. His voice was low and husky as he said,
"This is the tuition I wanted."
On the verge of tears, Lilian pushed him away with all her strength before turning and fleeing.
After Lilian left, Morrison turned and headed to the bathroom, taking a cold shower to calm himself down. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
She had asked him when he entered "teaching mode."
She probably didn’t understand that his so-called "teaching mode" referred to the moment his desire had been ignited.
It happened when she stood in front of him, oblivious to the fact that he had gotten a full view of her chest.
Last time, it had only been a distant glance. But this time, up close, he could confirm with certainty—it was indeed a C.
Who would’ve thought that such a petite and slender girl would be so... well-endowed?
Of course, Morrison knew she wasn’t someone he could touch, which was why he had deliberately spoken so frivolously, scaring her off on purpose.
He wasn’t ready to settle down, not yet. And he wasn’t about to mess with an innocent girl.
He couldn’t imagine just holding hands, sharing a kiss, and having a pure, simple romance. That kind of innocence wasn’t his style.
For a man his age, if he found a woman he was drawn to but didn’t take things to the bedroom, it would feel utterly pointless.
So, as far as he was concerned, what happened today might as well have never happened.
Laurent returned home without issue and the next day threw herself back into the daily grind of her busy work life.
From the time she visited Vivian before the baby was born to now, when Vivian’s son’s full-month celebration had already been held, over a month had passed. During this time, Laurent had grown far more comfortable and confident in her job.
She no longer felt as lost and helpless as she had at the beginning, nor was she as anxious. In those early days, she had been consumed with worry because she didn’t understand anything and had zero confidence.
Now, thanks to her tireless efforts over the past month, she had gradually mastered trade knowledge and garment industry expertise. Most customer inquiries and trade processes no longer posed any challenge for her. From here on, it was just a matter of gaining more experience one deal at a time.
While Laurent was settling into her role, Maggie was having a tough time. She had been scolded to the point of tears by Samantha because of an issue with the review of a letter of credit.
Feeling sympathetic, Laurent stepped in and gave her some guidance, helping Maggie resolve the problem smoothly.
After that, Laurent began helping Maggie more frequently, and Maggie was genuinely grateful to her for it.
One day, as usual, Laurent headed to the workshop to continue her hands-on research and learning.
The moment she stepped into the workshop, she noticed the peculiar looks people were giving her. Several women on the production line, who were temporarily idle, began whispering to each other, their gazes occasionally darting toward her.
Laurent felt puzzled but didn’t dwell on it. She focused on inspecting the quality of the garment components being transported on the conveyor belt.
It wasn’t until Diana, one of the senior women in the cutting group whom Laurent got along with well, pulled her aside and asked,
"Laurent, I heard you’ve been divorced?"
Hearing such a personal matter brought up so abruptly by someone else made Laurent feel uneasy. However, she forced herself to stay calm and asked Diana,
"Who told you that?"
Laurent had never mentioned her divorce to anyone in the workshop. Despite being on friendly terms with many of the older women, she had always kept it to herself, only sharing her age when asked.
This had led many to assume she was still single, with some even suggesting they could introduce her to potential matches.
She hadn’t deliberately hidden her divorce; it was just that her current work environment—a factory, not an office—made her cautious.
Apart from the office staff in the administrative building, who were generally more educated, most of the people in the workshop were older women with limited education.
And women of their age and background often enjoyed gossiping, especially about personal matters.
Laurent didn’t want her private life to become a topic of conversation for their idle chatter, so she had never mentioned her divorce. Apart from Samantha and Danny, who knew from her job interview, no one else was aware.
Diana frowned and said,
"I don’t know exactly who spread it, but the things they’re saying aren’t nice at all."
