Chapter 150: Chapter 150- You’re so bossy

After getting out of the car, Dave led her through a side door, making Laurent furious. So they didn’t have to use the front entrance after all? And yet he had scared her with that earlier!

Ugh, this man is really...

Following behind him, the two made their way up the spiral staircase to the third floor. The entire third floor was a spacious studio, with huge makeup mirrors, delicate makeup tables and chairs, and soft sofas for guests to sit and wait.

When they arrived, the entire floor was empty.

Perhaps hearing their footsteps, a handsome man walked out from one of the doors and greeted them warmly,

"Mr. Washington, long time no see."

Both Dave and Jackson were rising stars in the business world, so they had heard each other’s names and met at large events, but since one was at a.t and the other in Burg Eltz, they didn’t have much of a personal relationship.

The man then turned to Laurent, nodding respectfully,

"Mrs. Washington."

Laurent had grown indifferent to being called "Mrs. Washington" recently. Let them call her that—she had no other way to explain.

Should she tell them, "Don’t call me Mrs. Washington. We’re divorced. I’m only pretending to be his wife to help him land this project"?

After some pleasantries, the man politely explained,

"Sorry, she just woke up and is getting ready. She came from a.t and was a bit tired, so she’s resting for a moment. Please make yourselves comfortable."

He then walked to the tea station to serve them drinks.

Laurent was so nervous that she didn’t even notice that Dave was still holding her hand as they sat down on the sofa.

Dave could sense her nervousness, and he gently wrapped his hand more firmly around hers,

"Are you this nervous?"

Dave had learned from Morrison that Tina was coming to Burg Eltz today. So he called ahead to make an appointment with Laurent. Morrison’s many close friends were all eager to have Tina design their looks, so the news had spread fast.

Laurent frowned,

"I’ve only ever seen her on TV and in magazines..."

Tina was probably every woman’s dream—an idol. Just thinking about meeting her in real life, and having her do her styling, how could she not be nervous?

Dave smiled and gently reassured her,

"She’s really nice."

Although Tina had the aura of being above everyone, cold, and hard to approach, once you got to know her, you’d find she was actually a very kind person.

Jackson brought over two cups, one of coffee for Dave and one of flower tea for Laurent.

Laurent was quite surprised by the man’s attentiveness.

"Thank you."

It was only when she reached up to take the flower tea that she realized Dave had been holding her hand the entire time. Annoyed, she shot him a glare and quickly pulled her hand away. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

Dave, however, didn’t seem to mind. After taking a sip of his coffee, he teased Jackson,

"Jackson personally serving us tea and water—how embarrassing."

Jackson gave a faint smile.

"What can I do? As long as I’m accompanying her on store visits, this is pretty much my job."

Since Tina’s stores had opened one after another, Tina had been spending more time traveling, and to avoid being apart from his wife, Jackson practically followed her everywhere.

Being a full-fledged "wife guy," he couldn’t tolerate Tina interacting with strangers, especially unfamiliar men, so he took on the role of her assistant—serving tea, delivering things, and the like—with great ease.

Just as they were talking, the door to the lounge opened, and Tina walked out.

Her exquisite makeup and stylish, capable outfit immediately captured everyone’s attention.

Tina walked over to greet Dave and Laurent, casually rubbing her sore neck.

"Sorry, I just took a nap."

Then, she turned to Laurent,

"So, you must be Mrs. Washington?"

Laurent felt a little awkward as she greeted Tina.

"Hello, Editor Tina, just call me Laurent."

Tina, who also held the title of Editor of the fashion magazine *S*, smiled upon hearing Laurent call her by that title.

"You can just call me Tina then."

Her casualness helped ease the tension, and Laurent felt a little more at ease.

As soon as Tina came out, Jackson stood up to pour her a glass of water. After Tina drank a few sips, she politely shooed the men away.

"Alright, gentlemen, we’re about to get started. It’s better if men don’t linger around while women are getting their makeup done. Feel free to do as you please, like go to the smoking room for a smoke or grab a coffee."

Dave and Jackson exchanged a knowing look, then got up and left, heading to the smoking room for their chat.

Under Tina’s guidance, Laurent sat down in front of the makeup mirror. She still felt a little nervous.

"I only wanted to get my hair done..."

Tina chuckled softly.

"Your husband has paid for the full package, from head to toe, including hair, makeup, and even clothes."

Laurent felt a little uncomfortable when Tina mentioned that Dave had paid for everything, but Tina had already started working on her, casually chatting as she did.

"And besides," Tina said while adjusting Laurent’s hair, "I can’t stand sending a woman out of here with just a great hairstyle and nothing else to match. So whether you want to or not, you’re getting the full treatment—hair, makeup, the whole package."

Laurent couldn’t help but laugh at Tina’s confident tone.

"You’re so bossy!" she teased.

Tina grinned and agreed, "Yep, so please call me ’The Boss’!"

After saying that, Tina burst into laughter, and Laurent, now feeling much more at ease, joined in. The initial awkwardness and tension slowly melted away, leaving her feeling much more relaxed in Tina’s capable hands.

Laurent hadn’t experienced anything like this in years, not since her wedding day, when she had been dressed in her finest. After marriage, she had embraced a life of domesticity, rarely stepping out with anything more than minimal makeup, and most of the time, she didn’t bother at all.

Even when Dave had invited her to company events or other social gatherings, she had always turned him down. She had instinctively believed that he wouldn’t want a woman he no longer loved by his side at public events. His invitations had never seemed sincere to her; they were just polite gestures. When she declined, he accepted without protest, never insisting.

But now, as she sat in front of the mirror, watching Tina skillfully enhance her features, she couldn’t help but notice the transformation. Her face was slowly becoming more refined, more striking, more radiant... Yes, radiant.
