Chapter 232: Chapter 232- go on a trip

Laurent tried to explain to herself,

"Don’t we have a flight to catch tomorrow? I’m going to sleep."

"Perfect, I was thinking the same."

He squinted his eyes and smiled as he spoke, then added,

"Let’s sleep together."

The large hand that had been resting on her waist slipped under the hem of her loose clothing, slowly tracing along the clasp at the back.

As his warm fingertips brushed against her delicate skin, a shiver ran through Laurent’s body. At the same time, she suddenly recalled the boxes of essentials he had bought at the pharmacy earlier that night. Her face flushed red in an instant, and she raised a hand to slap his away while protesting,

"Dave, can you not be so shameless? I haven’t even agreed to get back together with you"

Before she could finish, he pulled her down, sealing her lips with his, silencing all her objections. His fingers, which had been lingering over the clasp, swiftly unfastened it. His rough palm enveloped the soft curves beneath, kneading and caressing them in his grasp.

A few breathy moans escaped from Laurent’s lips, only to be swallowed entirely by him, turning into one gasp after another.

The couch was too small, too narrow—unable to withstand the long-awaited passion and madness that was about to unfold. After their feverish kisses left them both breathless, Dave scooped Laurent into his arms and carried her to the bedroom.

On the soft and comfortable bed, he pinned her beneath him, kissing her deeply with boundless tenderness and desire.

It had been so long since she had experienced such intimacy. At first, Laurent could only feel the pain, pushing against Dave, resisting his invasion. He had no choice but to halt his movements, holding her close as he kissed her over and over again. Then, he eased into her slowly, giving her time to adjust until she could fully take him in.

The newly purchased essentials proved to be more than useful that night. By the time Dave was finally satisfied, Laurent was utterly spent—her legs weak, her waist sore.

After everything was over, Dave leaned against the headboard, still not entirely sated. He casually picked up what was left of the essentials, counted them, and murmured to himself with great enthusiasm,

"Seems like I should’ve bought more."

Laurent no longer had the strength to argue against his shamelessness. She simply turned over, burying herself into the soft bed, and fell into a deep sleep.

Thankfully, their flight was scheduled for the afternoon. Had it been in the morning, they definitely would’ve missed it—because Laurent slept straight into the late morning.

As the memories of the previous night replayed vividly in her mind, she wanted nothing more than to hide under the blankets and never come out, especially since a certain someone beside her was already awake.

Dave had actually woken up much earlier. Half-reclining against the headboard, he had been working on his laptop for quite some time.

He had tasks to handle but didn’t want to leave her side, so he simply brought his work to bed.

Now, seeing that Laurent was awake yet pulling the blanket over herself again, the corners of his lips curved into a knowing smile. He knew exactly why she was trying to hide.

He had been the one to ignite the passion last night, but in the end, he was not the only one who had completely surrendered to pleasure.

He still remembered clearly how she had clung to him, her voice trembling in ecstasy.

Now that he had finished his work and she was awake, he shut his laptop and leaned over. Pulling the blanket off her head, he chuckled in a teasing tone,

"You’ll suffocate like this. We still have a trip to go on, remember?"

Laurent huffed in frustration.

"God. If I suffocate, then I won’t have to go anywhere."

Something like this had already happened before their departure—how could she possibly expect to have peaceful days during the trip?

It would have been much better to stay at Burg Eltz. At least there, she could run to Adeline or Vivian for cover and avoid being tangled up with him.

But once they were on the trip, she would be stuck with him alone, with nowhere to escape.

Dave, however, was in an exceptionally good mood.

"Allow me to remind you—there’s no such thing as regret pills in this world."

"Whether it’s last night or the upcoming days of this trip, you have no way to regret it now."

He spoke each word deliberately, moving closer as he did, pressing feather-light kisses against her lips. As she tried to dodge him, those teasing pecks gradually deepened into a fervent, heated kiss.

Laurent’s tongue went numb from his intense sucking. Gasping for air, she pushed against his chest.

"Are you going to let me get out of bed or not? We have a flight to catch!"

Dave, still reluctant to let go, finally sighed and released her, remembering their afternoon flight.

"Alright, get up. The food I ordered should be arriving soon."

It was nearly lunchtime, and in her current state, there was no way Laurent could cook. Besides, Dave’s cooking skills weren’t exactly suited for throwing together a quick meal either, so he sensibly opted for takeout to fill their stomachs.

Before heading to the airport, they first stopped by Tiffany’s place to let her know about their trip and to ask her to take care of their daughter. The little girl was still at kindergarten, so they decided not to disturb her and left it to Tiffany to inform her. Once they landed and had everything settled, they planned to video call their daughter.

Laurent also informed her parents about the trip and mentioned that she was going with Dave. Her mother had no objections—she simply reminded her to stay safe.

As for Alex, he grumbled in discontent,

"Why go on a trip so far away? And with him, of all people."

But before he could say anything more, Cassy cut off the call. Frustrated, Alex had no place to vent his anger and could only sulkily go out for a walk.

To Alex, the moment he heard that his daughter was traveling with Dave, his first thought was that she must have reconciled with him. Though he had always known this outcome was inevitable, it still left an inexplicable irritation in his chest.

But at this point, there was nothing more he could say, so he could only stew in his frustration.

Wasn’t there a saying that marrying off a daughter felt like raising a precious cabbage, only for a pig to come along and take it? In his case, the cabbage he had carefully nurtured had been taken by the same pig—twice.

How could he not be furious?
